Named changed because completely outing If she is on here.

So we live in a terraced house with decent size gardens.
Our garden has a pool, climbing frame and tree house thing for kids.
We have fences but they are lower enough to look over etc.
We have been out every day the last week.
My kids have noticed that things haven’t been where they left them in the garden but I just assumed they just forgot etc

Anyway, I got home from work early today and the kids were still at the park and one with my sister.
When I arrived home.
The neighbours child was in our garden using the climbing frame whilst his mum was in her garden watching.

Seriously ??? Neighbour was apologetic when she realised I was annoyed but said she didn’t really see the problem as he was supervised and wasn’t doing any harm ?

Not spiky things on fence but certainly some very prickly evergreen.

MidsummerMimi · 15/06/2021 17:29

Ask your neighbour how she would feel, if she arrived home and found members of your family having a BBQ in her garden.

whatagirlwants · 15/06/2021 17:30

I would knock on next door and say please do not come into my garden again. You wouldnt like it if I came into your garden when you were out would you. I have the link for the people I bought the garden toys from for you to buy your own as its obvious your son loves playing on it.
Saves starting a war.

Skyelils · 15/06/2021 17:33

Cheeky cow is all I can say

catwhite1 · 15/06/2021 17:33

I don’t think it’s that bad. What harm can it be doing. Love thy neighbour and do unto others….If it was a big fence and not easily accessible with a locked gate then maybe but if no one it using it then can’t really see the problem

Seriously!?
dcthatsme · 15/06/2021 17:37

You should go and chill out on their stunning garden furniture with a large G&T

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 15/06/2021 17:38

@catwhite1 you can't really see the problem??!! Honestly??!!
Righto everyone, let's pop over to Catwhites place, and use what she's spent her money on for nothing, and invade her privacy! There's really no problem!

LLC283 · 15/06/2021 17:41

Wow…..just wow!!! This is more than a bit cheeky, this is just downright rude and not on at all. You have every right to be annoyed. I’d do everything in my power to make sure my garden was no longer accessible for them. Higher fences, trellis at the top, padlocked gates the lot. I live in a flat and would love a garden, but if I decided that I’d love a glamorous garden rather than a child friendly one - then I’d have to take the kids to the park regularly so they can use the equipment, not sneak into another neighbours garden!!!

Passenger42 · 15/06/2021 17:43

Tell her you will happily trade your swing for her garden furniture but if she isn’t up for that then do the next best thing and buy your own.

Feeasco · 15/06/2021 17:46

Wowee that is over the top unacceptable. Besides the fact that the pool is dangerous it is so self entitled! Pop your kids over onto her pristine side and let them pick a few flowers for your vase. 😮😮😮 Unbelievable!

animalprint11 · 15/06/2021 17:48

I'd spy on them and when they do it phone the police and pretend another neighbour rang because they seen you go out but heard a commotion in the back and they thought they were burglars 😂

NotSure94 · 15/06/2021 17:48

Bigger fence not least as unchecked kids near a pool, however secure might not end well. Also v CF yes.

catwhite1 · 15/06/2021 17:49

If my neighbours child did the same I wouldn’t mind. It’s not like the child is having a massive party or they are having a family bbq. It’s just a child on a climbing frame in the next door neighbours garden which clearly it’s able to get into. Keep it in perspective it’s just a child.

seegayna6791 · 15/06/2021 17:51

My DS lives with his father (no drama, he just wants to spend more time with him). Anyway, they are going to Florida soon and I am really worried about the thought of gun maniac carrying out a mass shooting, they do happen pretty regularly in Florida. AIBU?

Prinzy · 15/06/2021 17:52

Don’t do the spike thing it’s so aggressive, neighbour is Bang out of order make it clear why this isn’t acceptable instead, forget supervised people children or not, shouldn’t enter others homes like this, retrieving a lost ball when they know the owners aren’t home is the only acceptable kind of scenario.

Seriously? Hmm Maybe the DCs tightarsed parent can get her children their own play equipment.

ShallWeStartTheMeeting · 15/06/2021 17:54

I mean my neighbours have a lovely sunny garden.
Mine is dark and north-facing.
Maybe I just over to theirs with a book and a drink?

Egeegogxmv · 15/06/2021 17:56

OMG!!
I'd be putting big signs up, no trespassers, private property etc

MollyMinniesMum · 15/06/2021 17:57

If you have plenty you should build a larger table not a higher fence

DottyE · 15/06/2021 17:58

It’s very wrong , teaching her child it’s ok to use people’s things with out asking! She should buy her own toys for her child , so rude !

Fedupofhomeschooling2021 · 15/06/2021 17:58

The message she's sending her child is that any one's property is fair game to use...not ok on any level.

Maybe you should let your kids sit on her beautiful garden furniture and see how she feels!

Tooshytoshine · 15/06/2021 17:58

We had a similar issue where our neighbours would notice when we are out, on holiday or remember our working patterns and park a couple of their six cars on our driveway. They are not good neighbours.

Our other neighbours mentioned it to us and I asked them but they denied it until I came back unexpectedly and couldn't get onto my drive as they had squeezed two of their cars and a visitors car on. There was no apology - instead they said we weren't using it and it deterred burglars. Yes, imagine trespassers on our property when we weren't there...

In the end I said very clearly that they were not permitted to do this and told them we had a ring doorbell and sent them the images whenever they still did it. They very reluctantly stopped but Jesus Christ people can be entitled.

Supergirl1958 · 15/06/2021 18:00

Get a ring doorbell for the back of your house and pass over the images to the police for trespass!!

Trespass isn't a criminal offence. Police won't be interested.
