My mum has nearly 12000 twitter followers.

I have like 10. She’s got loads of famous people following her too. A lady in her 60s, that’s a head gardener. Kim Wilde, Kerry Katona, and Charlie Dimmock!

OP your mum looks astounding. I hear your disconnect between 'just my mum'" and 'just a gardener " and her relative fame. I'm glad she can have family recognise her success which does often get missed within the family.

A few of us older women who are mums and successful (shock horror and disbelief) will be frustrated at being written off...but used to it!

Well there you go, she's got followers as people like her gardening. She clearly isn't "just" a gardener she must have skill and talent.

I love gardens and follow loads of gardeners on Insta.

I would on Twitter too, but use that more for work-related stuff.

I don't do Twitter but just had a look at instagram and if it's the same pictures the content is lovely.

The account is very active posting every few days, I'm not surprised it gets a lot of followers, people like plants and if they visit the place they will probably look it up.

I don’t think the op sounds bitter etc. I think she sounds like she’s hugely impressed and this is a stealth boast, which is quite sweet.

I'm probably your Mum's age and I have over 3,000 followers on Twitter and my DCs just love that I do! No one famous but I get likes and retweets from Jackie Weaver, Jason Gardiner, Nicky Campbell and Terry Christian 🤣🤣
If my DCs want some sort of point made, they come to me to make it on Twitter
so we're not all fossilised in our 60s yet.....

My mil has thousands of followers and she posts about dogs. It's actually quite common that middle aged Twitter users have a lot of followers.

And head gardener of a public/commercial/known garden is not “just a gardener.” She’s accomplished something. Women are allowed to do that, you know, even if they’re also mothers.
