To find it weird my mum has nearly 12000 Twitter followers!

My mum has nearly 12000 twitter followers.

I have like 10. She’s got loads of famous people following her too. A lady in her 60s, that’s a head gardener. Kim Wilde, Kerry Katona, and Charlie Dimmock!

How?! Just how?!

Most celebs don’t tweet themselves and she could have #geraniums and that’s why idris Elba follows her... that or they’re having a beautiful romance . Maybe celebs get paid for following a certain amount of people who knows

My dd posted herself cooking some recipe or other on TikTok at the start of the pandemic and much to her surprise she got over 80,000 followers within a week.

Ah right, I know exactly who your mum is @PinkSnowAndTwinkles! She posts lovely photos and people love gardens so it’s not surprising she has lots of followers.

I have about 6k Twitter followers and my daughter can’t believe it either because I’m “just her mum” too. She’s “just my daughter” except with no Twitter followers!

There are two ways for relative unknowns to get large numbers of Twitter followers. One is to obsessively focus on numbers, following large quantities of accounts yourself in the hope that they'll reciprocate. The other is to produce the kind of content people want to read. Only one of these is in any way strange, and it's not the route your mum has taken.
