7:30 lawn mowing (tomorrow, friday)

I get on really well with the neighbours so don't want to upset them.

Both sides are usually up well before 7, but it is school holidays here.

@CuriousandReady not entirely sure why anyone would get stirred up by someone else's lawn or the fact I followed advice given to me in the thread!

@HypocriteHunter as I have said, i cannot do it now - it's not about time / not having time, there's other reasons.

Is the reason you can’t do it now because you were busy going round to the neighbour’s house to explain that you couldn’t do it now.

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:09

@burritofan nope, it's not.

You are funny, OP.

HypocriteHunter · 03/06/2021 20:16

Naw. They’re naw.

Inaseagull · 03/06/2021 20:18

Book a gardener to do it while you are away, then you can have a longer lie in too.

TooInvested · 03/06/2021 20:20

So the immediate neighbours are “happy”? You think when you finished your unnecessary visit they turned to their OH and went “good news, darling, the neighbours are mowing the lawn at 7.30 tomorrow” 😂

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:21

@Inaseagull would love to be able to afford a gardener! Definitely on the things that will happen when I win euromilions.

Think my neighbours are pretty reasonable and realise that occasional noise is a two way street. Plus there's much more background noise around with builders close by at the moment.

Is it because your kids are asleep and you don't want to disturb them - yet are happy to disturb the neighbours in the morning?

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:25

@L0bstersLass No, it isn't - nothing to do with sleeping children (and didn't say I was happy to disturb the neighbours kids - they wouldn't wake up to that anyway, they sleep deep!)

BaronessOfTheNorth · 03/06/2021 20:25

It wouldn't bother me as I'm up by 7am every day with my daughter (I'd be sitting on my garden chair judging your lines).

It would bother DH who is up an hour later at the earliest and who always seems to have had a bad nights sleep 😏

Zgran · 03/06/2021 20:26

No, too early. 8.30 at the earliest.

CastAColdEye · 03/06/2021 20:26

@BeastforLease, if you're in Ireland (wild guess) are you mad? 7.30am is practically the middle of the night!

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:28

@CastAColdEye That's me never moving to Ireland then. Zone 2 London. I do feel like maybe some people don't realise how noisy Zone 2 London is in the mornings.

The council here were mowing the grassy area at the front of my house. Thoroughly. With a tractor. At 7.30am. Ah, well.

strawberrydonuts · 03/06/2021 20:30

No. There is literally no reason you need to be mowing your lawn before 9am. Plan your life and do it at a sociable time.

MN: YES

Op “I’m doing it anyway”

7:30 lawn mowing (tomorrow, friday)
BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:32

@Hardertobreathe well yes, because my neighbours are OK with it - I asked them because of the mumsnet responses (knowing full well they are up and out and about at that time usually anyway).

OP posts:
Laiste · 03/06/2021 20:32

I've got it!

Because you don't have a mower - it's being bought round/delivered later tonight?

Piteous.

Pointless.

Considering tomorrow morning is the only time you say you can do it, I suspect that even if they said they weren't ok with it you'd go ahead regardless.

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:37

@Whinge no - the whole point of the thread was because i didnt want to fall out with them. Would have had to hire the petrol strimmer in a couple of weeks, an expense i can really do with out at the moment (actually can't afford it).

OP posts:
itsgettingwierd · 03/06/2021 20:37

By 7.30 on a Friday I've been up since 4 - taken ds swimmjng and brought him home again.

It wouldn't bother me!

So I get why you said you'd ask. Sometimes people's lives differ from the ones people seem to live on MN.

I always laugh at 9am in a week day.

By then most of my street is either at work or on a school run. It's noisy here with people coming and going from about 5am!

BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:37

@Laiste Ha, I actually do wish that was the case but no, that's not the reason.

OP posts:
BeastforLease · 03/06/2021 20:38

@itsgettingwierd same here with the noise. I mean what do all these people do on bin collection mornings? Here they start around 4am.
