Menopause / or Did your periods change after Covid vaccine?

I'm 51 and last had a period more than 2 years ago. After my Covid vaccine in Feb, my periods 'started again'.

It looks like there are quite a few post-menopausal women who have had the same, and some non-menopausal women who've had their menstrual cycles go awry.

If this applies to you, please do contact your GP for advise and/or to register your experience.

It's not necessarily a problem, but women do
Often accept situations that could do with being explored in more detail, so please do make your experience count if you can.

@cardibach

I feel you may be right about vaccinated women emitting vaccine period rays to others!!

But I'm not so sure you're right about the lack of connection between vaccine and period irregularities.

Either way, I'll report the irregularity & excess bleeding after 2 years and see if any explanation comes of it.

Adding again, also spoke to the doctor who did an immediate referral to a specialist, as per any post-menopausal bleeding.

SO IF THIS HAPPENS TO ANYONE READING THIS THREAD, PLEASE GET IT CHECKED OUT X

All clear - checked out by consultant and nothing to do with vaccine.

I'm 40 and only had first dose of AZ vaccine. I've had one period since then and it was a lot lighter than my normal periods. No where near as heavy bleeding as I normally do.

Great news, @WaverleyPirate

I've just been told I've been turned down for life insurance until 'investigations have been fully satisfied' for post menopausal bleeding.

I had the medical by insurers last week. I was truthful about situation, that scan was clear and specialist just keeping an eye. Husband turned down too as it was a joint application..

That is Actually quite effin significant as We now have to answer 'yes' to any 'have you been previously declined' questions and it will be harder to get cover.

Really really annoyed actually.

That's really annoying DontDrink and the last thing you need!

Bit late to this thread but came on looking for something on this topic.. so thank you for reassuring me I’m not the only one.

I’m 30s, on the contraceptive implant and haven’t had a period for 5+ years whilst on it. Not even a slight bleed. 8 days after Pfizer I am having a full period and cramping. I doubt this is a coincidence. More information needs to be published about this, surely.

DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo · 06/06/2021 08:19

Hi @Yakkabee - glad you've got some reassurance and hope this is a one-off for you x

I haven't been jabbed but my last 2 periods have been very unusual. Usually 6/7 day periods, consistent since I was 11 years old. My last 2 have been 2 and a half days then finished, which is unheard of for me. The shedding is a theory I've heard but I'm aware that there are many other reasons that this could happen. Just very odd that it happens at the same time as thousands of other jabbed and unjabbed women are reporting menstrual changes.

Beanaballerina · 22/06/2021 08:58

I’m 52 peri meno and not had a bleed for 18 months. Had first AstraZeneca and was dreadfully I’ll then 6 weeks later had the 2nd jab and the sorest boobs (I mean pregnancy sore) and the horriblest period heavy clotty the works. And now it’s happening again, I did the yellow card for the boobs but didn’t register that the bleed might be related too as having researched peri meno it says you can oddly bleed now and then? What should I do? Report the bleed as well?

Poorlykitten · 22/06/2021 09:09

Don’t flame me! …but this happened to me, before I had the jab so in some cases could be just coincidence…

@DontDrinkDontSmokeWhatDoIDo can I talk to you about this for a feature in the Telegraph?
