Continuing the previous thread - people's sexuality varies hugely and what some people think is disgusting is good fun for others. It's impossible to generalise and say XYZ practice is wrong or repugnant and I agree with the posts at the end of the other thread that porn often just reflects what people do. Obviously you pick where your own interests lie and are glad human beings are diverse.

obm I'm confused now about which of us is supposed not to poo!!!

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:38

Just wanted to add that I think 'pornography' needs to be defined. I don't think it stretches to erotic drawings, on cave walls or even in the Karma Sutra. And anyway, my personal perspective is a moral one (not because sex is immoral, but wanton exploitation is) and no one is being harmed when the images are rendered and not real. It is probaly the only way you could guarentee that someone is not being horribly exploited.

I don't think there is anything wrong with sex, but the pornographic industry.

Even the people who are defending pornography because they are consumers of it should also be able to admit that it is a very grey moral area, at least?

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:39

And peoples sexuality doesn't vary as much as some like to think; there is a definite male and female sexuality for instance. There is room for difference, but there is a awful lot of corrolation, cross cuturally.

I have not read the initial thread, but read this one with interest and felt I would like to post in support of the points made very well by Elizabetth. The porn industry is massively corrupt and I think some of those posters in support of porn are choosing not to recognise this and instead defending their own position which (one hopes) is from a perspective of using porn responsibly. To defend this vast and often appalling industry is naive at best.

jofeb04 · 16/11/2007 20:44

My problem with this is that everyone is talking about the women involved, and that it is men who watch it.

What about the men involved...I am sure some of them are also in there not necesserily (sp?) because they want to. And also women who watch it.

onebatmother · 16/11/2007 20:44

in my experience it's unwise for any participant to poo onetiredmummy.
But perhaps I'm sheltered..

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:48

lucyellensmum, the secret diary of a call girl was fiction, an on line serial turned into a tv show. As for the sex indutry above ground the reality of legalised prostitution

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:50

Stats tell us that male peformers don't suffer personally and socially as much as female perfomers.

fireflyfairy2 · 16/11/2007 20:50

I'm not adverse to a bit of porn, but eewwww to sucking semen out of other women's bumholes [boke]

onebatmother · 16/11/2007 20:51

monkeytrousers once again, so succinct. big diff between sex and sexual preferences, and the porn industry.

jofeb04 · 16/11/2007 20:52

MT, but that also says that men still do suffer. Which indicates to me that something needs to be done - maybe stronger laws (I don't know the laws surrounding it though) for both sexes.

And it is not just the women who suffer.

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:52

Just a query about those people who film themselves and post it on the internet - no nothing wrong with that but how do you target that free, unexploitative porn directly without getting inundated with the industrial stuff?

VictorianSqualor · 16/11/2007 20:54

jofeb04, the men question is one I asked goodness knows how many times on the otehr thread!
Probably the only question there was no real answer to.

jofeb04 · 16/11/2007 20:55

MT, Myself and dh has filmed ourselves, but it has never been out of our safe (in the bedroom), let alone anywhere near the internet. I would be concerned if it ended up on the net obviously, but know it will not happen!

(But then, we did have photos stolen when we were burgled a few years ago, but then we had more things to worry about than a few photos with no face on!)

I have had far too many ciders to be admitting this!

jofeb04 · 16/11/2007 20:55

Thanks VS, people forget that there are other people involved in it!

Monkeytrousers · 16/11/2007 20:57

FWIW, yes men may suffer, but not in the same way as women. The costs to women are huge, to men pretty trivial. Unless they are straight but end up in homosexual stuff that goes against their own sexuality.

VictorianSqualor · 16/11/2007 20:57

jofeb, do you mind me asking what would bother you if it did 'leak'?? I have discussed this at lentgh with DP and have always come to the conclusion that I wouldnt care who saw it, as long as I didnt know them!
Thats what would stop me posting it online anywhere, also, before I'm asked that is not because I'd be ashamed, but I dont want my mates to see my sex face!!!

DaddyJ · 16/11/2007 20:59

MT, from what I have seen there are forums
where people swap bona fide self-made porn.

jofeb04 · 16/11/2007 21:00

VS, We don't really care tbh. It's not showing our faces!

Walnutshell · 16/11/2007 21:07

Well said in all posts MT.

onebatmother · 16/11/2007 21:09

victorian - to be fair i think i've often included men and women when talking about the impact on participants?

DaddyJ · 16/11/2007 21:12

obm/lem, I promised an answer (sorry was cooking):

The reason why to me Bangbros is vanilla is because
of the actual visuals because that's what people get off on.

The text is full of jackass bravado which is grating
but the actual content is not in hate porn territory.

onebatmother · 16/11/2007 21:17

but daddyj the text is the content as much as the visuals. clientele may be der but not so der that they can't read..

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/11/2007 21:18

Just wanted to respond to something on the other thread.

Ancient greek (men) used to anally pleasure themselves/each other with hardened breadsticks.

It's been going on for quite some time......
