Baby crying on the train

I'm on the train and there's a young looking couple (not judging) and a baby in it's pushchair. The baby has been crying for about 5 minutes. The poor mum is trying to settle the baby but the dad is just ignoring it and he's on his phone!!Shock

If this was my husband and he wasn't helping I'd tell him to get off his phone and help!

I can't believe what I'm seeing

@Crabbitcrab

I've had women sit next to me on the train with their children, does that mean i'm suddenly the child's father? Am i then responsible for looking after these random children?
DNA test. Only answer.

Because of Covid rules etc they wouldn't have been sat together if they weren't together and the train wasn't busy so he could've sat elsewhere.

Yes, everyone pays attention to Covid rules 🙄

Again, why did you start the thread? What did you want to get out of it?

Cool so you're just going to casually skirt over those of us asking how on earth this thread helps the 'poor women' or how you think you made her feel by staring at her for an hour?

Reallt pisses me off too OP!

Some people like to be contrary on here, and will do anything to excuse men.

Have you not managed to learn a single thing reading through this thread?

You join the OP in having the inability to acknowledge anything other than your own crappy judgement as being a possibility here. I can understand OP, to an extent, defending her viewpoint, but I can't for the life of me work out why anyone would agree with her, particularly when there is so much information on this thread about why OP opinion sucks.

How do you know its a chappy judgment? The OP might be spot on. I would actually put money on her being correct 😂

You miss the point.

But even if it is spot on, what is the point of this thread? They’re not looking for advice. They’re not even looking for a hypothetical WWYD. I’m not sure what discussion you get from “I saw a dad ignoring his family on a train”. Oh ok then... 🤷🏽‍♀️

It happens but in this case it’s clear that OP didn’t even really know what was going on. So what’s the point?

KizzyMoo · 15/05/2021 19:23

He probably isn't dad I went on a bus with my brother who's 18 months younger than me recently, wouldn't expect him to look after my kids.
