Omg, clicked on this thread even though sounded a bit boring (washing, blah...). Just hilarious, will never think about washing left out in the same way again...🤣

I updated immediately! They don't have willies. They have stumpy appendages 👍🏻
Ironfloor269 · 16/05/2021 11:07

What's the difference?

Veronika13 · 16/05/2021 12:52

Am I the only one who uses dryer for every wash? 🤨

Skatastic · 16/05/2021 13:08

Even my husband knows what darked on is!

Also when my 65 year old Mum moved back to live in my Grandma's village my Gran told her to never, ever leave her washing out overnight or she would be judged by the neighbours.

pickingdaisies · 16/05/2021 21:01

@bitheby slugs indeed. Inside.Sad

NoWordForFluffy · 16/05/2021 21:03

I'd leave it. If there is a breeze, it will still be drying overnight. We've got loads dry overnight in the middle of winter when it's breezy.

We often stick loads of washing out to dry overnight, if that's the best chance to miss the rain!

Popcornbetty · 16/05/2021 21:07

I'd bring it in and hang on a clothes maiden near radiator or whatever, at least it'll be dry by morning.

Ulelia · 16/05/2021 21:19

Ive got bad news for all the people who tumble dry to avoid insect wee and willies on their bedding, about all the insects inside your house...

Popcornbetty · 16/05/2021 21:27

'Ive got bad news for all the people who tumble dry to avoid insect wee and willies on their bedding, about all the insects inside your house...'

And not to mention progressive garment shrinkage Shock

JoshLymanIsHotterThanSam · 16/05/2021 21:27

My husband wants to know what happens to the women spiders? And if anyone had considered the thought that the spiders could be having sex and then the women spider wipes her vag on your socks?

24GinDrinkingOnceTheKidsInBed · 16/05/2021 21:29

Ok so spider willies is self explanatory, ive only got to page 3 of replies before can’t read any longer.

PLEASE will someone tell me what drakes on is/means?!

There are different dryer settings..... so clothes don't fade or shrink.

I don't dry because of spiders. I dry cos it's done in 45 mins and I don't need to hang it out (adding a chore) and clothes are not damp from outside

babyinthacorner · 16/05/2021 22:53

This thread is BRILLIANT!!!
I once left a piece of clothing on the washing line for several days. Oh the SHAME. Consecutive nights of being darked on. Of course I set fire to said piece of clothing.

justasking111 · 16/05/2021 23:05

You can all laugh about the spiders. One sunny day I put out towels over the decking, when I went to bring in my lovely dry white towels, suddenly saw a spider then two then ten then gazillions, tiny little buggers swarming all over them. I nearly had a fit was the creepiest thing I had ever seen.

Popcornbetty · 17/05/2021 07:36

@Veronika13 yes i also tumble dry but not everything! I used to and even on low i noticed progressive garment shrinkage Shock Grin now i just do towels, certain things for dc etc and anything i really care about gets line dried or dried indoors. Some clothes are unsuitable no matter how low the temp.

Popcornbetty · 17/05/2021 07:37

Clothes are not damp from outside either if you hang them out in warm/suitable weather.

A lot of clothes I get dry cleaned.
It's either the dryer or dry cleaner - I don't even have a drying rack outside 🤷‍♀️ I hate the dampness feeling on clothes.

Samsung hybrid heat pump dryer doesn't damage clothes (even gym gear).

NoWordForFluffy · 17/05/2021 19:34

You're bringing your clothes in too soon if they're damp from outside! 🤷‍♀️

Veronika13 · 18/05/2021 02:14

I see hanging it outside as an added chore.
It's easier to throw clothes in the dryer straight after the wash. Then it's dry in 45 mins.

Folded away and it's done.

Drying rack means a boring task of hanging it outside. Checking if it's dry. Either using pegs or making sure clothes don't fly away. When leaving home making sure it won't rain (or clothes are undercover). Making sure not to dry in the sun without clothes being inside out or colour will fade.

I must the only one only using the dryer / dry cleaner mix?! Dryer, dishwater, and Dyson are 3 of my favourite home helpers.

@WestendVBroadway

All you people asking about what darked on means, honestly ! In a minute you will be asking about cutted up pears.
Or elderly Korean ladies...
