Would I be unreasonable to leave it out there til the morning?

Definitely get darked on, and rubbed by spider willies!
Bring it in.

ItsGotABitOfPink · 12/05/2021 20:18

My mum would often leave the washing out overnight. I don't like the thought of my washing left out overnight. Makes me feel uneasy.

Thingsthatgo · 12/05/2021 20:20

I once left my knickers out on the line to get darked on. They felt quite different afterwards... in a good way!

WhoIsH · 12/05/2021 20:20

What is darked on?!

purplecorkheart · 12/05/2021 20:22

All my clothes get darked on. I tend to do the laundry when I come home from work and if it is not going to rain that night and next day is going to be fine it gets hung out so it is a job done in the morning.

Elieza · 12/05/2021 20:26

First laugh out loud if the evening Grin

And the northern lights was a nice addition. Grin

CreamFirstThenJamOnTop · 12/05/2021 20:26

I often forget about mine and it stays out there for days! Repeatedly darked on!!

PuppyMonkey · 12/05/2021 20:28

You mustn’t.

I gave up washing lines altogether due to all the faff about rain and the ever present threat of being darked on.

Clothes horse on the landing. Put wet laundry on in the morning. Take it off the next morning. It doesn’t matter about dark when it’s your landing.

*Spare room or utility works just as well as landing.

TolkiensFallow · 12/05/2021 20:28

😂🤣😂 this thread is hilarious. I leave my washing out all the time if it’s not dry and the forecast is decent

iklboo · 12/05/2021 20:31

If the OP is in the North the situation is complicated by reports that the Northern Lights might be visible tonight. I shudder to think what the combination of Northern Light activity, spider dicks and dark exposure could do to washing.

Oh goodness. I'd be worried about spiders being mutated by the Northern Lights & running amok rubbing their willies everywhere!

DancesWithTortoises · 12/05/2021 20:40

You'll have to wash it again to get the spider jizz out. And it's never the same after it's been darked on.

nocoolnamesleft · 12/05/2021 20:48

Darked on. Wiped on by spider willies. Shat on by owls. And bats. The only question is in what order these calamities will happen.

AnyWhore · 12/05/2021 20:49

Northern Light infested spider jizz glows in the dark and flashes green. Adds a certain je ne sais quoi to knicker gussets when you leave your drawers on the line overnight.
YourCakesAreShit · 12/05/2021 20:54

But your washing will get darked on.

Underbox · 12/05/2021 20:58

Spider jizz Wink

idontlikealdi · 12/05/2021 21:00

Oh good god no.

The idea of it makes me go rather funny.

Get it in, fold it well and put it in the basket by a radiator if on or in airing cupboard. It'll be dry in the morning.

cat8986 · 12/05/2021 21:06

@Underbox

Spider jizz Wink
Spider jizz, spider jizz. Does whatever a spider jizz does
longtompot · 12/05/2021 21:08

If I know it's going to be dry the next day I'll leave mine out overnight. I'm not afraid of it being darked on, or spiders wiping their willies on it 😉

DuckonaBike · 12/05/2021 21:09

All this. And what about owls, OP? Had you considered the owls?

BashfulClam · 12/05/2021 21:11

My mum reckons the air is damper at night (going by damper grass in the morning I can agree) but at 8pm no she’s saying ‘I better get the washing in before the damp comes down!’ Damp…comes…down…what now??Also it gets darked on.

Seasidemumma77 · 12/05/2021 21:14

Loving this thread

Pebbledashery · 12/05/2021 21:16

Can someone explain Darked on please

LST · 12/05/2021 21:17

I leave mine out all the time and bring it in at dinner the next day. Sometimes I even put it out in the dark! The horror!

YourCakesAreShit · 12/05/2021 21:17

@DuckonaBike

Such a good point.

Stop shaming the owls with your clean washing. So selfish.

YourCakesAreShit · 12/05/2021 21:18

Can someone explain Darked on please
I don't know about anyone else, but for me getting darked on makes clean washing smell of mud and spider jism.
