Snarky lady, is apparently nice!!

So there's this awful misery on the school run. She's a massive hypocrite - complains about people parking on curb near her house, whilst her car is overlapping the drop curb to her house. She makes comments to people with blue badges(!) Writes disparaging notes on white sticky labels and sticks them on the wing mirrors on the mirror-glass. Even the very 'PC' Head teacher said "she's a very difficult woman".

Stuck her address into google, comes up with her name, which then shows up letters she's written in to the times and guardian reader's sections...I was expecting her to be a raging prick and bigot, but she's not. She's listed on an 'Alternative new year's honours list' for her volunteer work. There's even a photo of her smiling! In person she's got a constant frown and mouth like a cat's bum 🙀

I'm confused - she seems such an absolute witch in person, repeatedly butting heads with parents just trying to pick up their kids.

Her online results have disarmed me. Seemingly a sheep in wolf's clothing, rather confusing.

Yabu - take her on, online persona means nothing, she's no saint

Stop googling addresses and spewing bollocks online about your obsession with this woman. No one is impressed.

Any time she's making a fuss near you tell her how a few years back you found your dream home, but you walked away because it was right near a school and it was completely and utterly obvious that you'd be facing busy roads and annoying kids and parents day in day out. Express your surprise and sympathy that she didn't notice the school when she bought her house.

@Backtoreality1, @nothingcanhurtmewithmyeyesshut and @SecretSpAD, the lady isn’t just parking across her dropped kerb, on the road (which is legal), or putting the nose of her car out so it is obvious she is there - she is pulling it right across the pavement and leaving it there, so she completely blocks the pavement. I cannot see how that is a reasonable thing to do.

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius that's exactly what I had to do - half of my car was across the pavement and the nose near the road. Even them some selfish bastards would try and park across it. It was the only way I could get my car out.

Why on earth would you bother a mother loading her disabled child into a car. (The child has a hidden disability, but the blue badge is very clearly on display)

If the mother was parked inappropriately, why is the fact she has a badge relevant? Having a badge doesn’t mean you can park wherever you want.

I spoke to a parent with a blue badge because they had parked over two blue badge spaces meaning the parents who needed the other space would struggle. I’d have no problem with anyone doing that to me.

She sounds ok to me

@SecretSpAD - I’m sure you weren’t completely blocking the pavement, so pedestrians were forced to walk round your car on the road - but according to the OP, this woman is fully blocking the pavement - I think that is different to what you are doing.

But I agree, people should not be parking across your drive, blocking you in, and I can understand why you would be forced to extreme measures!

Surely parking in the road across your dropped kerb would have worked without causing problems for pedestrians

Why not park your car on the road, across your dropped kerb? Better than forcing pedestrians into the road, surely?

I don't understand it? Why would you not park on the road and block in your own drive? How does this stop people blocking you? It's so dangerous, especially considering you live near a school so are essentially forcing children to walk in the road.

I park across my drive, dropped kerb but not so it stops pedestrians walking on pavement. Pathetic I have to do it really but I'm so sick of people parking across it and blocking me in when I need to get to work. I'd never consider doing it to others but some people just don't care. When asked to move I get abuse or "oh I will only be 5 minutes" or thats ok then I will just wait then .....

Then I'm sorry but you are a twat. What about parents arriving with puschairs, people in wheelchaor? What do you expect them to do exactely?

Park longside the pavement in front of your dropped curb is normal.
Blocking the whole pavement is not.

You are completely unreasonable, and super weird to have googled her, but I picked YANBU since I don’t want to encourage you to ‘take her on’ whatever that’s supposed to mean...
