@LolaSmiles I agree with you. When we first met my ex liked the fact I had a good career, but as soon as we had kids he wanted to take it away from me. To him a working wife was an insult to his masculinity and also he would hsve enjoy the control that having a SAHM would have given him.
I was sensible enough to continue working after the children. Only part-time but enough to keep my foot in the door. When I left him with nothing it meant that I could push up my hours to keep a roof over our head and food on the table. I worked bloody hard for my career and it is a part of my identity.
I would never become a SAHP for this reason, even if my husband was a multi-millionaire.

Wow looking at your follow-ups, OP, do you know there's a vast area between being obsessed with a bank account and unemployed? Of course I'd advise my child (no daughter, but a DS) not to marry someone unemployed unless that person was currently training/ at Uni to do something with their lives.
