To never wear a mask again!

Now fully vaccinated.

There’s no point to me wearing a mask anymore and I’m seeing more and more people who may or may not be fully vaccinated not wearing them so why should I bother with the discomfort of wearing one?

WIBU to totally abandon them with glee?!

Vaccination is only one of the many ways to prevent Covid. All the ways are imperfect, so that's why we should do them all in combination. This is a good explanation:

Swiss Cheese Model of Covid

I guess you could also pass a cold on to someone unvaccinated (due to their age or could be clinically vulnerably) and that could be fatal if they also catch Covid.

ViciousJackdaw · 28/04/2021 23:12

@Whatisthisfuckery

You’ve gotta laugh at the covid lovers.

I’m worried about having the jab. You must have the jab to protect yourself and others.

I’ve had the jab so I think I’ll stop wearing my mask. No, you can’t do that, you can still pass the virus on.

Whether the so-called vaccine prevents transition of covid very much depends on whether people are being good little sheepies or not.

Sheepies 🤣

You should have gone for the triple and shoehorned 'educate yourself' and 'snowflakes' in there too.

Of course, you really should have concluded your post with the words 'End of'. We would have taken you seriously then.

MzHz · 28/04/2021 23:12

@Morechocmorechoc

Article today, jab reduces transmission by 50 percent, not 100!
1st jab reduces by 50% apparently
OnkasBigMoka · 28/04/2021 23:12

@RaspberryCoulis Can I ask what professional, experience and evidence you have to state that "masks don't make one bit of difference".

The entire premise of what you have written is about what you want. You are probably one of those people who wear a mask around their neck. People like you are part of the problem.

SoupDragon · 28/04/2021 23:15

1st jab reduces by 50% apparently

Which isn't 100%

YANBU

carrieeee · 28/04/2021 23:24

You can still get COVID & pass it on if you've had the vaccination, don't just think about yourself. Many people still haven't had it yet

BogRollBOGOF · 28/04/2021 23:24

I gave up trying in January after scratching my face to bleeding point while wearing a stupid visor as a token gesture. I am long since done on sensory overwhelm/ panic attack roulette. It's still marked from the scratch marks. I invariably had to remove the stupid bloody things before I got to the checkouts as the hyperventilating kicked in, so it is far healthier and safer for me and the others around to not go through the token performsnce of trying to comply.

My lifestyle is low risk as is the rest of the household's. Cases are very low locally so the chances of being exposed to a case at present is minimal, add in a decent level of protection from the first vaccine and a halved chance of passing it on. The vaccine is far more effective than wearing an unregulated handkerchief on your face, particularly with the level of hygiene that most people care for them with.

People need to put far more faith in the actual data of local cases and measured effects of vaccination than the visual security of a random bit of fabtic/ semi-breathable plastic over people's airways.
(Plus the social costs of loss of lip reading, vocal clarity and expression)

ilovesooty · 28/04/2021 23:26

Another goady plop and run. Hmm

What a load of bollocks.

It's the same as always on MN. If you're not advocating wearing masks FOREVER, then you're a granny slaughtering covidiot. Hmm

Hating masks is OK. It is entirely possible - and I appreciate this might be a bit of a stretch to get your one brain cell around - to simultaneously hate masks and yet comply with the law around wearing them! I know! A total revelation!

People who post goady fuckery and who lack reading comprehension skills ARE the problem, not just part of the problem.

81Byerley · 28/04/2021 23:27

I've had both mine now, but nothing has changed. I wear my mask to protect others. Sometimes it's difficult. I persuade myself I can't breathe properly....I can! It's all in my head. My glasses steam up. It makes me hot. None of this matters. We're in a pandemic. People are still dying, so I wear my mask to protect others.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 28/04/2021 23:29

@tttigress

I get the impression some people want this mask/lockdown situation to go on forever.
No most people really don't. They just don't want us to keep repeating this cycle because we didn't sufficiently get rid of the virus while we're ahead.

Be very grateful you are in a country that has been able to provide you with two doses. In world terms that makes you very privileged indeed. Don't be an asshat off the back of it.

Hopeisnotastrategy · 28/04/2021 23:31

*or is able to provide you with two doses...

OnkasBigMoka · 28/04/2021 23:31

@RaspberryCoulis Speaking of bollocks - everything you just said!
Complete numpty!

  1. I never said anything about wearing a mask forever - I asked you to back up your statement about mask not making a difference - because that was bollocks.
  1. Hating masks is ok, but the rest of your point I lost interest in because you're right - it is the law so stop moaning about it.
  1. From everything that you have said you are part of that goady fuckery and do lack the comprehension.
DumplingsAndStew · 28/04/2021 23:35

OP, if you'd had the guts to post this under your usual username, you'd not have looked quite so obvious in the Goady Fuckery stakes.

Goldieloxx · 28/04/2021 23:40

Being vaccinated doesn't stop you passing it on and not everyone is vaccinated. Plus you can get still get covid after being vaccinated. We still need to protect the vulnerable. I hate this attitude, while NHS workers and volunteers are working round the clock to protect you, you can't even be bothered wear a mask, you're a dick

Happymum12345 · 28/04/2021 23:40

How does wearing a mask affect asthma? Sorry if it’s a daft question!

Vivana · 28/04/2021 23:42

I've been vaccinated twice and early 40s and will still wear a mask until told safe not to

Goldieloxx · 28/04/2021 23:45

I have bad asthma and wear a mask, if I couldn't I'd wear a visor, if I couldn't do that I'd ask someone else to do my shopping until it's not mandatory to wear a mask

MasieMaskless · 28/04/2021 23:46

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/api.nationalgeographic.com/distribution/public/amp/science/article/yes-vaccines-block-most-transmission-of-covid-19

So I’m probably a lower transmission risk than if I was wearing a mask or wearing a flowery lanyard like the woman who leant around me without any attempt to say excuse me or social distance this afternoon. I was wearing a mask btw.

The whole family have already had Covid. I was actually wearing a mask long before they became mandatory and was one of the few wearing them whilst getting stared at and laughed at from last March! I’m done with it now.

Going maskless won’t stop me going anywhere as they are not enforced anywhere I need to go as evidenced by the many people not wearing them Hmm.

OP posts:
Thewiseoneincognito · 28/04/2021 23:46

LOL OP are you really that naive to actually believe you’re safe? The arrogance is off the charts.

OnkasBigMoka · 28/04/2021 23:47

@Goldieloxx this! I, along with many others say thank you to you!

Bhappy12 · 28/04/2021 23:48

This can't be a serious question... Hmm

When millions of people in the UK have yet to have been offered a first vaccine (not to mention those unvaccinated in other countries) . Yes. Of course Yabu.

Just imagine what a shitstorm we'd be in now if everyone had been that selfish over the last year.

Ah, yes. You've had covid so you won't get it again.

You've had your jabs so fuck everyone else.

Get a grip OP.

OnkasBigMoka · 28/04/2021 23:51

@MasieMaskless then why ask the question in the first place. You've clearly made up your mind. Pointless and stupid.
