To never wear a mask again!

Now fully vaccinated.

There’s no point to me wearing a mask anymore and I’m seeing more and more people who may or may not be fully vaccinated not wearing them so why should I bother with the discomfort of wearing one?

WIBU to totally abandon them with glee?!

I don't like wearing a mask as they steam my glasses up, but I'm not a big baby, and just wear mine and get on with it.

I wasnotbelittling people who cannot wear a mask

Sure

Sure

I don't think she was belittling people who are exempt either.
RampantIvy · 03/05/2021 21:14

Thank you @ilovesooty. I was trying to point out that I find wearing a mask an inconvenience, not at all belittling people who can't wear them. I can't think that my comment about them steaming my glasses up is in any way belittling.

BonnieDundee · 03/05/2021 22:01

It was the "big baby" comment and how you just get on with it

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/05/2021 22:23

@BonnieDundee

Well it was accurate. There were big babies who were refusing to get on with it because their glasses were steaming up.

It wasn't belittling people who cannot wear masks...

And I have to say that people should really, really stop trying to find an issue everywhere because it is becoming quite annoying that everything is an offence

RampantIvy · 03/05/2021 22:40

Thank you @SchrodingersImmigrant. I was referring to myself putting up with a slight inconvenience, not anyone else. I can't believe that some people are so touchy.

TheVampiresWife · 03/05/2021 22:48

@Canvasphoto

Absolutely fine as it your choice but then it should be my choice to be allowed to punch you when you come within two metres of me in the supermarket. I haven’t been offered the vaccine yet and neither have my kids. Thanks for only thinking of yourself, you sound like a lovely person.
How are you differentiating between people who don't want to wear one and those who can't? How many disabled people, or rape survivors, or people suffering with neurological conditions have you punched? Do you think violence/threats of violence is a good example to set to your DC?

You sound like a peach, yourself.

TheVampiresWife · 03/05/2021 22:52

@Pumperthepumper

Oh sorry, should have read further up. No, people are not actually being punched.
They're being shouted at, threatened, spat at, called disease breathed tramps and told they should die to stop them spreading covid, though.

I know because all of the above has happened to me since last July.

Pumperthepumper · 03/05/2021 22:56

Have you reported them @TheVampiresWife ? They’re all assaults.

TheVampiresWife · 03/05/2021 23:02

@Pumperthepumper

Have you reported them *@TheVampiresWife* ? They’re all assaults.
A couple of times shop staff have intervened but other than that, no.
Pumperthepumper · 03/05/2021 23:07

Might be worth it then, if you can face it. I’m sure the staff would help with CCTV for evidence if needed.

giggly · 03/05/2021 23:10

Why op, is it because your a fanny?

Againstmachine · 04/05/2021 06:31

Remember people it's not good enough to just wear a mask you should enjoy it.

TimeForLunch · 04/05/2021 06:32

YANBU, Op! I wish everyone would do the same.

ButtonMoony · 04/05/2021 06:51

America now advising that those who have been vaccinated no longer need to wear masks in certain situations (mainly outside, but will start filtering through to other locations)

Packed venue with masked spectators and no social distancing etc for the players etc at the snooker last night.

Positive signs of normality returning which will hopefully happen fairly quickly once 2nd doses start getting to a certain percentage of the population.

We are still no masks or distancing here on the Isle of Man and now accepting of the fact that with increased travel there will be cases in the community.

It has been a pretty dramatic shift over the last few weeks from "elimination" and panic at every individual case being identified to "mitigation" now the vaccines are at a certain point which means despite now masks or restrictions at all people accept there will be cases and they will spread and aren't that arsed.

Several new outlets have announced they will no longer report daily cases as the level of vaccination means its not really a relevant statistic (personally don't think it ever was)

@TeddingtonTrashbag

Unbelievable (well, no - actually believable snd predictable) selfishness from the misanthropes who want everyone to exist forever in the same miserable joyless world as them.

Do you think this is what is happening here? Are joyless miserable people stifling your surge towards freedom?

WouldBeGood · 04/05/2021 07:39

Joyless miserable people are most certainly stifling my freedom. Egged on by the doom laden bollocks in the media.

UsedUpUsername · 04/05/2021 09:26

Seems to me that unmasked but socially distanced would have been better, but maybe it was too small a venue?

Some of the issue with masking is that it gives people a false sense of security.

@Tal45

70% is BS only 14 million (out of 66) have had both doses and a lot of those won't have had the three weeks needed for the protection to fully kick in and only just over half the population have had the first dose. Again a lot of those (us included) won't have had the three weeks needed for it to kick in. Some people will make up any crap though to try to make their point.
They will indeed make up crap. 70% of the adult population has received at least one dose of vaccine which confers approximately 75% protection. Second doses are outnumbering first doses now. Some people just don’t want this to be over and life back to normal.
Againstmachine · 04/05/2021 16:12

That's just silly.

Not really when you get idiotic posts on here who can't understand why someone doesn't want to wear a mask. Masks are shit.

WouldBeGood · 04/05/2021 16:42

@KarensChoppyBob 😂

I usually am but I’m sick to the back teeth of all the rules, and masks in particular, and the people that want us to wear them forever are draining me!
