Kendodd · 28/04/2021 07:24

My theory is that voters don't care.

Nothing to do with labour or the media. This is us as a society holding the PM to account.
In terms of the Ministerial Code at least, the Prime Minister is ultimate arbiter and guarantor.

jasjas1973 · 30/04/2021 16:15

No one is talking about Messiahs here. But he gets things done. No fear. No apologies. No nonsense. No listening to derailing factions with agendas

Take Covid vaccines as an example, or Brexit

Vaccines yes but Brexit? we've a loose poor deal with the EU that makes trade harder & more expensive, fishing harder still and splits the UK, with a border between GB and NI.

Bojo is good with the 3 word slogans "Get Brexit Done" Save the NHS, The Peoples Priorities and Beat the Backlog.... these are mistaken for "Gets things done...." another 3 word slogan lol!

As for affairs, sure people cheat but he seems to lack any responsibility in fathering children or in his own or his partners sexual health.

He doesn't care that his kids will grow up not knowing him or he them, why do you think he cares about you?

Penlon is a medical devices company specialising in air ways equipment
Asking manufacturers to switch from cars or jet engines to specialist medical devices was unrealistic according to Craig Thompson, head of products at Oxfordshire firm Penlon, one of the few specialist ventilator firms in the country

Who'd have thought?

ClaudiaApple · 30/04/2021 16:22

Bozo did not get the vaccines sorted. All the hard working scientist and the NHS did.

The charlatan is taking credit for it

As he should. It is the business of government to enable these things to happen.

No problem with this what so ever, it is very different from your constant lying post tho'

I am fairly sure Arlene Foster can thank Ursula Vonderleyen and the EU for triggering the article they said they wouldn't..

Boris has not actually said anything about the wallpaper fiasco, not saying anything is not lying...

mustlovegin · 30/04/2021 16:33

All the hard working scientist and the NHS did

Sure, but you can have wonderful scientists and a great NHS and mess it up. Look at the EU.

I also remember the constant wailing a few months ago saying that the UK should hand over vaccines to other countries (very selfishly trying to jeopardise all our efforts and against our best interests). He/the government ignored all this nonsense and didn't drift. Firm and resolute.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/04/2021 16:41

It is the business of government to enable these things to happen.

In this case, given the the cuts to the nhs it happened in spite of the government.

Look I'm not a BJ fan. I think he should resign but this word weaslery is exhausting. He put Kate Bingham in charge of procurement and everything followed from that. This isn't a fairy tale where one character is totally evil and another is a saint.
Peregrina · 30/04/2021 17:12

He put Kate Bingham in charge of procurement and everything followed from that.

You can grant that is about the one thing he did right. It would have been better if her appointment had been done transparently because there might well have been equally qualified candidates out there. But no matter. How good would her vaccine procurement have been if it hadn't been for the NHS rolling it out? Pretty useless, I would warrant. Doses completely wasted and no one vaccinated.

Yes, well done....no problem with that either I was highlighting the huge leap between the notion of BJ constant lying as asserted by all and sundry and being held to account against a ministerial code.
mustlovegin · 30/04/2021 17:26

if it hadn't been for the NHS rolling it out

Yes, this is what it's about. Everyone pulling together. Not loose cannons trying to sabotage the efforts of others

Notonthestairs · 30/04/2021 17:27

Who are the loose canons?

Kendodd · 30/04/2021 17:32

With regard Johnson's serial adultery, I do wonder what Carrie thinks. Do you think she's ok with him straying? She can't be deluded enough to think he'll be faithful to her. I would be a little be surprised if they actually did get married as well.

Also on a lighter note, I'd love to see what this number 10 makeover looks like. Gold wallpaper sounds hideous but I've got no class apparently, I shop at John Lewis.

OP posts:
Kendodd · 30/04/2021 17:35

being held to account against a ministerial code.

What even is the 'held to account' though? Is it as meaningless as being in contempt of parliament? If it doesn't involve prison or really, really massive fines, I very much doubt Johnson gives a shit.

OP posts:
Peregrina · 30/04/2021 17:48

Wasn't Cummings in contempt of Parliament, and he too didn't give a shit. Now he is desperate to appear before the select committee. How times change!

Kendodd · 30/04/2021 17:59

I think May was as well (?) Contempt of parliament is completely meaningless and involved zero sanctions other than a telling off, its completely pointless.

This always amuses me. Do you really think the "NHS" decided how to roll it out. They had business consultants running the programme, the "NHS" just filled in the positions at the pointy end ie: giving the actual vaccines.

Exactly. The NHS is not some benevolent institution independent of government.

The Guardian stirring muck. No surprise there

Notonthestairs · 30/04/2021 19:16

I agree it would better if there were no muck to stir.

It's quite a charge sheet laid out there.

He said that on or before 16 March 2020. Now look at the names of the companies involved in the Consortium (formed 19 March 2020) who helped him scale up production - what do they normally manufacture?

Established, from scratch, seven new large-scale manufacturing facilities at Airbus AMRC Cymru in Broughton, Ford in Dagenham, GKN Aerospace in Luton and Cowes, McLaren in Woking, Rolls-Royce in Filton and STI in Hook, as well as restructuring existing sites Smiths Medical in Luton and Penlon in Abingdon.

That Muck comes from the business that is real government it wouldn't evaporate into thin air within a Labour government where we would all live in a utopian muckless paradise by all accounts.

That so called charge sheet is not as damning as it appears or is being presented....The Guardian...please....

Peregrina · 30/04/2021 19:32

Oh yes? So if all the nurses and paramedics actually giving the vaccines downed tools, how many vaccinations would the business consultants have done?

Similarly when you are sick, you must tell the nurse and the doctor that you don't need them - you will be quite satisfied with a Business Consultant sitting in an office telling you what your treatment should be.
