And no I'm not Indian.

OP posts:
CandyFIosss · 15/04/2021 23:27

Nope not a fan personally

thiswaythat · 15/04/2021 23:28

I'm so easily influenced. Just bought the Dishoom book

SionnachRua · 15/04/2021 23:29

Nah mate, Thai all the way. But Indian is a close second.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 15/04/2021 23:29

You won't regret it Grin

BurbageBrook · 15/04/2021 23:30

Totally agree OP. I also like Greek, Thai, Korean and Japanese but nothing comes close to an excellent Indian meal.

SionnachRua · 15/04/2021 23:30

Also I will put a good word in for Korean! Very meh on Chinese, I can never see what the fuss is about.

transbadger · 15/04/2021 23:31

Greek!

GreyhoundG1rl · 15/04/2021 23:33

I'm not Indian either and I totally agree, op.

OnTheBrink1 · 15/04/2021 23:35

No, I don’t like the Indian flavours of spices really.
Much prefer Italian or Chinese or Greek or some English / American dishes

GreyhoundG1rl · 15/04/2021 23:36

Great shelf, PickAChew

Gregorsgirl · 15/04/2021 23:37

I have only ever had a few Indian takeaways, mostly not great. I'm never sure of what to order and it all tastes a bit blah. I do enjoy a Chinese takeaway, much more reliable. I mean you just can't really dislike peking duck.

ApplesinmyPocket · 15/04/2021 23:41

Nope! something about one, or some, of the commoner spices in Indian food I simply don't like the taste of.

Chinese however... definitely. I feel I could eat that every day. Mexican is also good.

I also love fish and chips but probably would only choose it once a month.

Katjolo · 15/04/2021 23:42

Caribbean! Yum.

PickleCabbage · 15/04/2021 23:44

Not a huge fan of Indian food - love Japanese, Chinese and Mediterranean food ( Greek, Turkish- seafood and meats grilled simply but oh so good)..miss travelling for good food!

covilha · 15/04/2021 23:44

No, it’s English cakes, puddings and sweets- and yes, I am English x

Porcupineintherough · 15/04/2021 23:47

It's very good as is Italian. But my no. 1 spot goes to - Lebanese.

amusedbush · 15/04/2021 23:48

Nope, Mexican every time! I could eat it every day.

ApplyWithin · 15/04/2021 23:50

I like it but it feels so unhealthy.

Mexican or Thai is the best imho.

ApplyWithin · 15/04/2021 23:50

And I’m neither.

BashfulClam · 15/04/2021 23:52

Not the stuff in restaurants as much of that is Taylored to the western palate. My friend is Indian and had a group of us for dinner, slow cooked curries and handmade rotis and rice. It was amazing.

JemimaTab · 15/04/2021 23:53

I’ve always loved Indian food - it has so much variety, is very vegetarian friendly and I love the spices. Another recommendation for the Dishoom cookbook - I bought it early in lockdown, and it has so many amazing recipes.

I like loads of other stuff too - Chinese, Thai, Lebanese, etc. I also bought Fuchsia Dunlop’s book on Sichuan food and that has been an absolute revelation.

bushhbb · 15/04/2021 23:53

@PickAChew

This is where I document my Indian recipe book shelf. I have a few more as paperbacks on a shallower shelf and some more on order.

Can I come round for dinner sometime?

osbertthesyrianhamster · 15/04/2021 23:53

YANBU

MobyDicksTinyCanoe · 16/04/2021 00:01

I bloody love Indian food. I make some sort of variation at least 4 times a week.

I'm not Indian either. But it's definitely the most versatile of foods.

JobHunting10 · 16/04/2021 00:01

Any food from the Mediterranean - ie Italy, South of France, Greece, Turkey etc
