AIBU - to wear once only? It’s costing me a fortune in underwear as they wear out/ grey quickly

Every 2 or 3 wears unless it gets particularly sweaty. I tend to leave at least a day between wears as well.

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 15/04/2021 09:26

2-3 times

Plumtree391 · 15/04/2021 09:27

Once or twice.

rainbowthoughts · 15/04/2021 09:27

I wear fresh clothes every day, after my shower, including bras.

ShirleyPhallus · 15/04/2021 09:28

I take it off after an hour or so and bleach / boil wash at 90 degrees. Anything else is discusting tbh

Topseyt · 15/04/2021 09:29

Two or three times unless the weather is very hot and/or I get unusually sweaty. I use a good deodorant spray and it is fine.

Angrypregnantlady · 15/04/2021 09:29

A good few days, maybe even a week, I don't have a set rule, just see if it needs washing.
Unless you're a very sweaty person then no clothes (bar knickers) need washing after every wear, it's just a waste of water, energy, and clothing.

GalleryGirl · 15/04/2021 09:30

Up to 2 weeks if I'm going to be brutally honest. Finding bras that fit is a nightmare so I only have 2 and our house currently has no heating so laundry takes 3+ days to dry.
That and they just don't get that dirty.

NC4THISS · 15/04/2021 09:32

2 weeks if wearing every day.
Longer if not wearing everyday.

Essentially until it smells.

Nancylovesthecock · 15/04/2021 09:32

Until it starts to smell.

eurochick · 15/04/2021 09:33

Once, like all underwear.

Twickerhun · 15/04/2021 09:34

Oh ages. They don’t exactly get dirty or smelly like pants or gym wear

GladAllOver · 15/04/2021 09:37

After each wearing. But I only wear one very occasionally, much more comfortable without. :)

PurpleWh1teGreen · 15/04/2021 09:38

Once. It's underwear.

I will happily wear outer clothes two or three times and unlike most Mumsnetters my bedding can be left for up to a fortnight. But would never wear underwear again.

cariadlet · 15/04/2021 09:38

Once if I've done enough exercise to get really sweaty. Otherwise they last about a week. Knickers are the only items of clothing that I would automatically change daily.

Marylou2 · 15/04/2021 09:39

Once or twice at the very most.

Me too.

Bras aren’t worn on areas where you pass urine or faeces.

But other clothing touches your skin? Why the special rule for a bra?
TyotyaKlava · 15/04/2021 09:41

I don’t wear it since lockdown started last year! My cup size is the smallest though, I just wear a vest underneath tops and that’s all. 😀

BrilliantBetty · 15/04/2021 09:41

Daily if it's a soft fabric no wire 'nighttime' type bra. Loses it's shape after a day. At least 2 or 3 days if it's a structured bra with a bit of padding etc.

@UserTwice I misread that as YEARS then snd was thinking "good grief!" Grin
rosesarered321 · 15/04/2021 09:42

Honestly, I wear it for a week, unless i get sweaty in it in which case it goes straight in the wash. I shower daily and wear a sports bra for exercise.

Gobbeldegook · 15/04/2021 09:50

Daily but I wear sports bras.
I hand wash nice bras, also after each use.
Cheap bras I just chuck in the washer (also daily) with the rest of the clothes and when the wire wears through I pull it out.

Hygiene is important.
Don't be a scruff.

PurpleWh1teGreen · 15/04/2021 09:52

Re not getting sweaty in the bra area, What about your back and boobs? Not to mention skin shedding on a tight garment.
