Will you be spending 3 hours queuing to get into IKEA and another 2 hours trying to pay?

I'm desperate for some fabric so Dunelm or John Lewis for me

Does anyone know when libraries can open? I know they are not shops but I would love to be able to take my little boy to choose some books!

Neonprint · 11/04/2021 10:16
**@ChardonnaysPetDragon Great - neither does mine! What's your point?

My point was that my life is not incomplete unless I go to the shops. Why are you asking? I thought it was quite clear?
I guess because your pp implied anyone who was going to the non essential shops tomorrow or soon did feel their life was incomplete without shopping. Which is pretty judgemental.

Most like they just want to go to the shops because they're sick of being at home. You can like a trip to the shops without it being a vital part of your life. And I'm saying this as someone who isn't massively into going shopping. I just know what judgemental looks like when I see it.

Nothing tomorrow as I’m working 8-6.30. Wednesday is my day off so I’ll be getting my hair cut and coloured and can’t wait! Decided to bite the bullet and go from blonde to dark brown as so fed up of lockdown roots. Husband and son also getting their hair cut same day. Then I’ll probably go to the shops, especially the charity shops and Primark if they are open late as have to travel to there. Need an entire wardrobe of trousers and hoodies for my 9 year old as he’s grown out of them all during lockdown

BruceAndNosh · 11/04/2021 10:17

@ChardonnaysPetDragon I've never looked on "shopping" as a recreational activity, but I k ow pre covid a lot of people enjoyed wandering round shops just for something to do.
But somethings don't work for online shopping, esp when colour matching for furnishings etc.

I still don't feel like browsing, it's very much going to be an focused IN, CHOOSE, OUT foray.

Carpet shop! I’ve got a completely bare bedroom/en-suite (floor boards) that’s been waiting since pre lockdown as didn’t dare pick online and no samples ever available.

(I’m 31 weeks pregnant and want it done before baby)

Ok.

ImAlrightThanx · 11/04/2021 10:18

I'm avoiding the shops for at least a week.
First one I will be in is probably wherever I can find decent jeans!

sohypnotic · 11/04/2021 10:18

None because I'm going on holiday Grin

TeenMinusTests · 11/04/2021 10:19

At some point next week

 • Mountain Warehouse to return an online purchase
 • Nationwide to see about upgrading DD's bank account
RaspberryCoulis · 11/04/2021 10:19

So jealous of you English mumsnetters.

We have at least 2 more weeks of restrictions, although homewares stores like Ikea opened last Monday.

I am most looking forward to getting back to volunteering in my charity shop, I've really missed my fellow volunteers and going through donations.

BagLadyy · 11/04/2021 10:19

Giving it a miss for a week or so. As the queues will be stupid.

LavendulaAngustifolia · 11/04/2021 10:19

I need some socks from Primark and I'd love a rummage around the charity shops but I'm giving it a good few more weeks to let the crowds die down a bit. I'm hoping everyone leaves the countryside to go shopping and it's quiet again.

MrsTophamHat · 11/04/2021 10:20

I really could do with going to IKEA soon as the chair my daughter's room is broken but I'm dreading it.

Hair appointment booked for Friday.

I'd quite like to go to Homesense for some picture frames for prints I got for Christmas.

cheesebubble · 11/04/2021 10:20

None but I will once I'm on Mat leave the week after, Zara baby, Newbie, John Lewis and any baby shop I can find.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 11/04/2021 10:20

Nowhere, but off to a beer garden during the week for lunch Grin

BruceAndNosh · 11/04/2021 10:20

@MyKingdomforaNameChange

Mine, as we're finally allowed to open again! Hope a few other people do too Grin

Although I have my first Covid jab today, so it depends on whether I get any effects from that...

Yay for getting your vaccine! I was a bit achy overnight after mine but fine the next day I hope your reopening goes well

None, can’t think of anything I need or want I can’t get online. May do a clothes shop in summer that’s not online if cases continue to drop and more are vaccinated. It’s no safer tomorrow than it is today so not in a rush.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 11/04/2021 10:22

@Penners99

Nissan showroom to decide on new car
I managed to collect my new car just before November lockdown. The mileage is still pretty low!
actiongirl1978 · 11/04/2021 10:22

Primark with DD13 and then waterstones. Feel like really treating myself.

Had my first jab early yesterday morning and I've felt like death all night, though perking up now so need to be on top form for tomorrow so DD can spend her xmas money.

I don't believe it's dangerous today either. There are 8 cases in my area at the moment.
CoastAlong · 11/04/2021 10:26

It will be mayhem. I don't know why anybody would go to the shops tomorrow. If it's essential then it's already been available. For me, all the non-essential things will have to wait, or be bought online.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 11/04/2021 10:27

Tomorrow I might have a little look in the local charity shops on my way out to see a friend.

But Thursday heading into town to go to primark, h&m etc. Dd1 has had a growth spurt and her summer stuff is too small and she needs new pe trainers & joggers. Luckily dd2 I sorted with a Facebook bundle (2 bin liners full for £5!)

theneverendinglaundry · 11/04/2021 10:27

I'm actually really looking forward to having a browse round all the charity shops. One in town has had a coat that I like in the window all through lockdown and I'm dying to know if it's the right size!

I do need to get some basics from Primark but will wait a couple of weeks until it calms down.

peak2021 · 11/04/2021 10:28

None, but will look at what is open when going to get some milk.

Hesma · 11/04/2021 10:29

None
