Will you be spending 3 hours queuing to get into IKEA and another 2 hours trying to pay?

I'm desperate for some fabric so Dunelm or John Lewis for me

OP posts:

None tomorrow as I'm working, but I'm off the following week, so really looking forward to going shopping to look for some new clothes. I'll be heading to Primark, New Look, H&M and Zara. Even if you can't try things on, it's so much nicer to see things rather than order online.

Flowers24 · 11/04/2021 11:13

No desire to but will be in the pub garden

Bluesheep8 · 11/04/2021 11:15

None as I don't need to. No need to all rush out just because we can

Same here. I'm working anyway but even if I wasn't I wouldn't be going just because I can. I am having my hair cut though.

JaceLancs · 11/04/2021 11:16

Tkmaxx and homesense

MummBraTheEverLeaking · 11/04/2021 11:19

Taking DD to a safari park tomorrow, DH and I going out for (outdoor seated) lunch Tuesday. Shops, perhaps later in the week if the online orders I have coming don't fit and I'd rather take them to the shop instead of faffing with posting them back. And DD starts swimming again on Friday, can't wait for that one!

HelenHywater · 11/04/2021 11:20

I'm not rushing out tomorrow, but may have a mooch around some furniture shops this week. and John Lewis. (I really know how to live).

Looking forward to going out in the evenings though.

And have a hair appointment this week. And want to get my eyebrows, feet, foof and nails done.

NoseinBook3 · 11/04/2021 11:21

Going to give it a swerve for a week

Lampzade · 11/04/2021 11:27

Tkmaxx

Waxonwaxoff0 · 11/04/2021 11:29

I don't think people are going "just because they can", shops have been closed for months and people probably need stuff now! I need to get DS new summer shoes and he needs to try them on and get measured, you can't just order everything online.

hennybeans · 11/04/2021 11:33

As soon as I saw your thread,OP, I thought IKEA! It's love to go for a wander around there. It made me laugh that was the first shop you mentioned.

There's no way I'd actually go tomorrow though in case it's heaving. I've not had my vaccine yet so probably nowhere unless off peak in a few weeks.

HiGunny · 11/04/2021 11:35

Oh I'm so jealous of you all! I'm in Ireland and shops have been closed since Christmas Eve. Click and collect might be started up in May at some point but that seems to be all they're planning at this stage 🙁
And no sign of hairdressers opening for the unvaccinated either 😫

Coasterfan · 11/04/2021 11:37

Alton Towers gift shop!!!! We are doing a week of theme parks, I m not bothered about the pub or non essential retail! Obviously it’s great these businesses can reopen though!

BashfulClam · 11/04/2021 11:39

This is how the next wave will happen! I’m in Scotland so glad they aren’t opening yet. I have a cancer investigation and don’t want any risk of the virus to hold me up!

MegaClutterSlut · 11/04/2021 11:40

None as I think its going to be mental. After primark opened after last lockdown the queues went all the way around our big mall and out the door again. That's the only shop I really want to go in when it's died down

Therealjudgejudy · 11/04/2021 11:49

@HiGunny, l'm also in Ireland so reading with a bit of envy!! However, if I was back home in London I would probably wait a couple of days before hitting Zara and all of the bookshops..Smile

doubleshotespresso · 11/04/2021 11:49

None. Nothing we need so badly I'm prepared to put myself into that frenzy...
Hoping to visit somewhere in a month or so to get fitted for new bra sizes though!

OurChristmasMiracle · 11/04/2021 11:50

No shops but I will be going to visit my gym after work. Cannot wait.

JustMeAndWheatley · 11/04/2021 11:56

None. I’m going to wait a few weeks until the craziness has down.

I want to go to a bookshop but know my local one will be quiet, so might pop in there later in the week when I’m passing.

I need strings from IKEA but they will have to wait. Annoyingly they’ve stopped click and collect and delivery from my nearest store.

JustMeAndWheatley · 11/04/2021 11:56

Not strings!

Judellie · 11/04/2021 11:57

None, until they junk the masks.

JustMeAndWheatley · 11/04/2021 11:58

My nearest Decathlon is open. It shares a carpark with IKEA. If I needed anything I’d go today before IKEA reopens.

SimonJT · 11/04/2021 12:00

Going to a fitting for my wedding outfit, but apart from that nothing shop wise. We’re off in the camper for a few days, so may venture in some shops there if it isn’t too busy.

LongIslandIcedT · 11/04/2021 12:01

I need to get school uniform, DD went back with a tracksuit that was mid calf. The shop has been open for collection but I don't understand how I would know what size to collect.

covetingthepreciousthings · 11/04/2021 12:01

@brogo

Does anyone know when libraries can open? I know they are not shops but I would love to be able to take my little boy to choose some books!
Tomorrow too.
PurpleSproutingSomething · 11/04/2021 12:03

I have my hair appointment booked in for Tuesday. DS is tomorrow.

The only shop I need to go to is Clarks for school shoes for DS, never had to buy them mid-year before so it's typical that it's this year.
