Will you be spending 3 hours queuing to get into IKEA and another 2 hours trying to pay?

I'm desperate for some fabric so Dunelm or John Lewis for me

HelloDulling · 11/04/2021 10:06

Nowhere tomorrow, but looking forward to John Lewis and a nail appointment on Friday.

mooonstone · 11/04/2021 10:06

might be a silly question - do you think shops will be busy?

I know there were ridiculously long queues after the first lockdown, but has the hype died down now?

There’s generally no queues anywhere in my area now, whereas there were still supermarket etc queues at the end of 1st lockdown. Everywhere seems quite quiet considering “stay at home” has been lifted and the weather is decent.

BarbaraofSeville · 11/04/2021 10:07

I don't think anyone will be doing 'a peaceful wander round' anywhere tomorrow. It's going to be hell on earth.

I wonder if lots of people have taken the day off to go shopping and to the pub?

Abraxan · 11/04/2021 10:08

None. I've not missed going into shops particularly and there isn't anything I want to buy right now.

Harryo · 11/04/2021 10:08

I’ll be at work, but my eyebrows and hair are booked in for the end of the month. Can’t wait!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 11/04/2021 10:08

@ChardonnaysPetDragon Great - neither does mine! What's your point?

My point was that my life is not incomplete unless I go to the shops. Why are you asking? I thought it was quite clear?

shittingthreeeyedraven · 11/04/2021 10:09

Clarkes as DC hasn’t had their feet measured since September and I’m stressing all their shoes are too tight.

I agree that kids shoes should have been an essential item, with a toddler their feet need shoes that fit and I don’t really want to risk buying online and damaging their toes/bones as they grow.

wonderstuff · 11/04/2021 10:10

I think it'll be super busy, I'm not going to venture to the shops for a couple of weeks. Dd13 has a trip planned for Friday.

HeddaGarbled · 11/04/2021 10:10

Book shop 😃

I’ve got a gift card from my birthday I’ve been hanging onto until I can browse the shelves again.

Harryo · 11/04/2021 10:11

I need some new shoes for work as well, but they can wait another couple of weeks. I won’t be queuing to get into a shop.

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 11/04/2021 10:11

Working all week but will do a spree in primark in a few weeks time once everything's settled down

The kids are desperate for new underwear and summery bits and my youngest really needs trainers and sliders

Got a couple of stone to lose for me so don't want to waste money until I've lost a bit.

Neonprint · 11/04/2021 10:11

I've always hated queuing so none. This pandemic has not made me tolerate it any better. I just learned when the supermarket was quiet. Nothing I'd like to buy or look at is worth a queue for a few hours! But if people want to do it it's up to them. Just not for me.

PuzzledObserver · 11/04/2021 10:11

I won’t be going anywhere tomorrow, other than to the supermarket as per usual. Let the crowds die down a bit.

Once they have, it will be an outdoorsy place for a new pair of walking shoes for DH, and maybe me as well, and bookshops. Because - bookshops.

If the weather is halfway decent, we may revive our previous day off practice of coffee shop lunch and mooching round book and music shops. The lunch would have to be outside, obv.

DH will be checking which charity shops are accepting donations, because we have a TON of stuff that needs to go.

vampirethriller · 11/04/2021 10:12

I'm waiting a few days then charity shops.

mooonstone · 11/04/2021 10:12

Ahhhh. I need to return items eg John Lewis warranty exchange. Wish I was able to sort it online but no, had to wait for stores to reopen. Wish me luck! I start work at 10am so can’t hang around for long.

InDubiousBattle · 11/04/2021 10:13

I'll be going to Debenhams. Dd has grown out of her bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding so going on the off chance that I can pick one up. I'll go to H&M for some clothes for ds too.

Alfaix · 11/04/2021 10:14

Not tomorrow. Maybe Friday for TK Maxx and Next. Are fitting rooms opening tomorrow?

brogo · 11/04/2021 10:14

I live in a small village and I'm heavily pregnant and don't drive so there isn't much choice but I'm looking forward to having a look in the charity shops! I will go about further afield once the baby is here.

Covetthee · 11/04/2021 10:14

I really need my eyebrows done but not sure if I can brave it the first day, but I am heavily pregnant and would like it done before baby comes which could be any day

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 11/04/2021 10:15

Mine, as we're finally allowed to open again! Hope a few other people do too Grin

Although I have my first Covid jab today, so it depends on whether I get any effects from that...

Tinydinosaur · 11/04/2021 10:15

I really need to go to primark but I just can't bear to, it's gonna be rammed!

ChocOrange1 · 11/04/2021 10:16

I'm going to Fat Face on Wednesday because I am desperate for some clothes which actually fit and I've about £100 worth of vouchers and christmas/birthday money to spend.

For me I'm actually more interested in outdoor attractions opening, rather than shops. I've already booked to take my kids to a farm park, paultons Park, swimming and we have a self catering holiday booked for next week.

Penners99 · 11/04/2021 10:16

Nissan showroom to decide on new car

mynameiscalypso · 11/04/2021 10:16

I'm working tomorrow and have a super busy day. I have a day off on Thursday so am mulling dragging DS (20 months) around Oxford Street but he's not the most relaxing of shopping partners. I just want to be able to saunter around and browse really.

choosername1234 · 11/04/2021 10:16
