To think the late Duke of Edinburgh would hate a man with messy hair

Mr Johnson could not even be bothered to comb his hair when paying tribute. Disrespectful.

I can imagine what the Duke of Edinburgh, a man who dressed smartly would think of that. Probably including words that are not printable.

Isn't he though. Ugh.

Whiskyinajar · 10/04/2021 17:35

There's a lot I dislike about our PM...messy hair because PP has died isn't me of the things though.

randomer · 10/04/2021 18:01

Its not about messy hair and PP.

Its about representing the country here and abroad.

Its about respect for the office and for the people you represent.

Its saying " this matters, you matter"

SueSaid · 10/04/2021 18:22

'Its about representing the country here and abroad.'

Many people could not care less if he has flyaway, fluffy hair.

He has steered us through this pandemic and our vaccination programme is brilliant so I'll take his scruffy hair do over Macron's tidy hairdo and disastrous vaccine roll out any day thanks.

randomer · 10/04/2021 18:40

Its not about hair, he hasn't steered anything. He messed up every goddam thing apart from vaccines. The vaccine programme was handed to central bodies and not his mates.

SueSaid · 10/04/2021 18:51

'Its not about hair'

Oh. Yet that is what is being discussed.

He has done as well/as badly as every one of the 4 nations. Well better than Sturgeon actually when compared to equally small countries with a teeny 5m pop has a high death rate.

randomer · 10/04/2021 19:07

The hair is part of the general demeanor and appearance.

Cant be bothered to argue.

peak2021 · 10/04/2021 19:08

The Prince of Wales, a man who has lost his father, was immaculately dressed when coming out of his front door to say a few words. Which unlike the Prime Minister were not just reading a prepared statement.

groundcontroltomontydon · 10/04/2021 19:09

It shouldn't be a huge ask for the PM to know when it's not ok to look like he got dressed from the lost property box

Peregrina · 10/04/2021 19:10

The vaccine programme was handed to central bodies and not his mates.

The vaccine roll out was in the hands of the NHS and was a success. The failed track and trace which is badged as being the NHS isn't in the hands of the NHS.

Johnson's hair is being discussed because looking as though you have just rolled out of bed and thrown a crumpled suit on and not bothered to run a comb through your hair, doesn't sit well with paying tribute to someone who has died.

ImpatiensI · 10/04/2021 19:36

He has steered us through this pandemic

Around 120,000 people didn't get 'through' the pandemic. A lot of them directly because of the negligence of Johnson. He's a nasty piece of work and I bet DoE detested him.

groundcontroltomontydon · 10/04/2021 19:36

he is exceptionally clever
He couldn't find his own arse with both hands

Peregrina · 10/04/2021 19:43

We probably all know people who like Johnson are supposedly clever but also lazy.

EastWestWhosBest · 10/04/2021 19:47

@Soothes

Not related to Prince Philip but isn't the PM's hair deliberate? I remarked to DH last night that everything about every TV appearance is styled to the hilt, there's no way he wouldn't have had his hair combed, if that's what the desired image required.
Way back when before he was PM he did the show that I’ve forgotten the name of where they went around the country with politicians and people asked them questions. My friend went and watched him deliberately mess up his hair before he went out. The man is a shambles and an embarrassment to us as a nation.
Sadsiblingatsea · 10/04/2021 19:51

He messes it up because he thinks it makes him look like a lovable rogue.
Who will tell him?

randomer · 10/04/2021 20:18

Who will tell him?

Is he prepared to listen?

Yetano · 10/04/2021 21:00

@Sadsiblingatsea

He messes it up because he thinks it makes him look like a lovable rogue. Who will tell him?
Sadly it has served him very well.

He goes, after all hold the highest elected position in the land. He does not deserve his position. He is renowned for his laziness and lack of attention to detail. He doesn't have any principles or ethics to stand by. He has no morals.

In fact ALL he does has going for him is his posh upbringing (which sadly counts for a lot in this country) and his hair.

daisiesinmay · 10/04/2021 21:03

Seems arrogant to me, not bothering to brush his hair. He's an arrogant man

Peregrina · 10/04/2021 21:04

I thought the same Yetano - enough people seem to like what he is and what he represents.

ChillySunnyChilly · 10/04/2021 22:45

The Labour party had a particularly divisive leader though.

Peregrina · 10/04/2021 23:06

I don't ever remember Corbyn not running a comb through his hair though.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 10/04/2021 23:21

I can’t stand Johnson’s messy hair either.

But I’ve got no idea what the Duke of Edinburgh would or wouldn’t like, as I didn’t know him!

adeleh · 11/04/2021 16:40

Wow that anybody is defending Johnson for getting us through the pandemic. In fact what a bloody insensitive thing to write when we have one of the worst death rates in the world, much of which is directly due to his negligence. Are you at all interested in how he’s managed the £37 billion gone into Track and Trace, which was a complete failure?

And the vaccination programme did go well - you can thank the NHS and the army for that; both bodies are being treated appallingly by this government.

randomer · 11/04/2021 16:59

37 Billion pounds.Mindblowing.

MrsMackesy · 12/04/2021 14:57

Sadly, if the polls are anything to go by, some members of the public are stupidly swallowing the line that BJ and his government can take credit for the success of the vaccination programme. How can these people forget the shambles leading to the unforgivably high death rate?
