To think the late Duke of Edinburgh would hate a man with messy hair

Mr Johnson could not even be bothered to comb his hair when paying tribute. Disrespectful.

I can imagine what the Duke of Edinburgh, a man who dressed smartly would think of that. Probably including words that are not printable.

OP posts:

I don't understand why Carrie doesn't do what the rest of us do and tackle him with a set of clippers.

I thought his speech was very good but he looked bloody disgraceful.

Ponoka7 · 09/04/2021 22:29

It shows how biased the press are. Corbyn was constantly criticised because his suits weren't deemed good enough. Johnson is the definition of a hot mess.

Peregrina · 09/04/2021 22:51

Corbyn, Foot both criticised in their time. But Johnson - not a word.

365sleepstogo · 09/04/2021 22:55

@Soothes

This is why I object to him being referred to as BJ etc, it's all part of the subliminal widescale acceptance that it's OK we have a "loveable" buffoon in charge.
Agreed!! (others may have, too, but I will forget by the time I get to page 7)

I'm sure I've seen derogatory comments about Johnson's appearance- but tbh they're somewhat redundant when a picture paints a thousand words. There was a corker on the front of the Times earlier this week.

kittykatz fair enough but what's the point of getting annoyed with somebody who doesn't care and can't be made to? I was reading mosgirl's post; she thought he speech was very good. Would it be better then to have an immaculate tailor's dummy who doesn't give a good speech? It seems we can't have both.

We have elected Boris. For good or bad he's in power and there's nothing we can do about that until election time when we can get him out but I bet he's still there, like a limpet. The vaccine thing is going to sail him through - and nobody will give a toss about his hair and buffoonery, he's selling it well. That is the sad thing, that his PR machine is good enough to convince the majority that he is a good PM even though everything he's shown us says otherwise.

He's like some sort of Svengali.

every single thing this man does is thought through, is deliberate.

he is exceptionally clever and manipulative and this is why he is so very dangerous.

Interesting article. I can believe it.
BloodyInternetFood · 10/04/2021 07:45

I don't understand why people are so sure Prince Phillip would care what someone looks like. Wasnt he famous for making comments about people's appearance? Especially if they didn't fit into a certain look.

Ocsetldil · 10/04/2021 09:12

Will we see more of Fergie now?

MarinPrime · 10/04/2021 09:15

I don't think the Duke would give a toss about the PM's hair but if they met face to face on camera it'd be in character for him to say something like "have you lost your comb?"

herecomesthsun · 10/04/2021 09:42

And also on turning on the radio "It appears I am still fucking dead"

theliverpoolone · 10/04/2021 10:02

Yeah and if he turned up with cut locks everyone would be moaning that he got a hair cut during lockdown

Nothing to do with it's length, it's the messiness. It's dreadful, and I think it's now worse than ever, as pp have said, as he's doing it to cover how much it's thinned - you can see his scalp really clearly through the mess. Other people on TV, and in real life, have longer lockdown hair at the moment and they/we manage to still look reasonably tidy.

Norwaydidnthappen · 10/04/2021 10:12

He does look like a scruffy shit but it’s nothing new, he’s renowned for being a bit of a scruff.

Norwaydidnthappen · 10/04/2021 10:13

My DH has been cutting his own and DS’s hair for the past year. We bought clippers and he watched YouTube videos, they all look neat and tidy. The hairdressers being closed isn’t an excuse, Boris doesn’t even brush it ffs.

randomer · 10/04/2021 14:33

The way you present yourself says something about how you regard others.

Mittens030869 · 10/04/2021 14:40

I am not a Royalist. But I think it’s really disrespectful for our Prime Minister to look such a mess on a TV interview that will be shown around the world.

I’m not bothered one way or the other about Prince Philip, who wouldn’t have been bothered and is dead anyway. But I’ve always hated Boris’s hair, it’s a very bad show on the part of the British PM.

BorisStopOffendingYourBarber · 10/04/2021 14:44

Boris hasn’t bothered brushing his hair for any briefings, the Covid ones or anything else for that matter. He either likes it that way or doesn’t give a flying fuck or maybe both. I should think Phil had plenty of opinions about Boris including his hairstyle.

BorisStopOffendingYourBarber · 10/04/2021 14:46

I agree with others that Boris’s appearance is very unprofessional. But I think he’s is bumbling buffoon in general anyway.

ImpatiensI · 10/04/2021 16:34

He looks like a clown. An evil clown. No makeup required.

UntamedWisteria · 10/04/2021 16:39

Completely agree OP.

So disrespectful. Don't know why Carrie doesn't tell him.

orangegina · 10/04/2021 16:40

Hey, leave his Barnet alone. It's home to some of our most endangered wildlife: he can't cut it. The creatures would be evicted

orangegina · 10/04/2021 16:45

Hairdressers being closed not an excuse. He's always looked like that

And also the celebs on telly are getting their hair done so pretty sure Boris can have his cut if he wants

jessstan2 · 10/04/2021 17:03

Including Carrie? I expect she runs her fingers through it occasionally, or she did (she might have gone off him recently and not told him).

That was a really interesting read. Thanks for sharing
AmyDudley · 10/04/2021 17:32

He deliberately messes up his hair before he appears in public (I know someone who worked with him). He obviously thinks it makes him look relateable or loveable or something. He is perfectly capable of brushing his hair - he chooses not to. Maybe OK when you are just a politician who appears on panel shows and gets caught up in zip wires, but when you become PM it makes you look like a tosser who can't be bothered.
I Think it was disrespectful yesterday - whether the DofE would have given a toss about it I don't know - but I think it is unprofessional not to brush your hair and disrespectful to the high office he holds. He's a total twat.
