To think the late Duke of Edinburgh would hate a man with messy hair

Mr Johnson could not even be bothered to comb his hair when paying tribute. Disrespectful.

I can imagine what the Duke of Edinburgh, a man who dressed smartly would think of that. Probably including words that are not printable.

I have wondered if B. Johnson was a school student with that hair would he be suspended? After all there are so many reports of state school students suspended for having hair too short, too long, too loose , too tight, too big, too 'ethnic', too coloured. It must also cost him a fortune to keep it coloured to such an artlessly blonde. As others have said it's all about playing the rest of us.

Did anyone see his 'Who Do YOu Think You Are'? It seems he and Prince Philip had a somewhat similar heritage. Minor foreign royal connections and diminished power (B.J.' s Turkish connection, Prince Philip's Greek). Not to mention a deserting father.

Lest I seem sympathetic to B. Johnson, I think he is contemptible.

@thecognoscenti

Yes BJ does it deliberately. It's part of his schtick. I know someone who has been in work meetings with him and he will mess it up deliberately before he goes anywhere he might be seen by the public or press. It allows him to get away with being a total shit because there's an element of 'aw, silly old Boris'. He's a very, very crafty manipulator of opinion.
I agree before any interview he messes with his tie and messes up his hair. I can't take the man seriously not because he can't brush his hair but that he goes to that much trouble to look like a baffoon he surely is one

I also thought it was disrespectful his speech will go around the world and he doesn't even look tidy.

He's an embarrassment to the uk

Unsure33 · 09/04/2021 16:01

what a mean and ridiculous thread . If he went to a barber before legally open you would be whinging about that as well .

his hair grows like that - its in his genes.

idiots

SueSaid · 09/04/2021 16:03

I bet the Duke of Edinburgh would not have given a rat's ass what Johnson's hair was like.

WorraLiberty · 09/04/2021 16:03

Well I didn't know the Duke of Edinburgh any more than you presumably did OP.

Yet I imagine he'd take a pretty dim view of someone using the death of another person to take a swipe at the Prime Minister...

52andblue · 09/04/2021 16:05

I'm old enough to remember the grief that Michael Foot was given for wearing a clean presentable 'donkey' jacket to the Cenotaph one year as it was not 'sufficiently respectful'. The mocking of Corbyn for often looking rumpled in clearly inexpensive suits.
Yet when an OE looks as though he has just fallen out of bed (and probably often HAS...) to make announcements on the 'world stage' then it's 'acceptable', seemingly.

CleverCatty · 09/04/2021 16:08

@Harrystylesismyjam

God I hate Johnson’s hair. Do something with it you useless idiot. Brush it, look presentable. Not like you’ve just crawled out from under a hedge after a night on the sesh.
He is such a twat. It makes him look 'unique', 'one of the lads', 'not a boring old fart like my medical advisors'.

And he can brush it and have it looking nice when he's being very 'serious'.

You've got it bang on - 'he wants to look like he's been out the night before and is 'hanging'. Grin

AvengingGerbil · 09/04/2021 16:15

He could at least have shaved properly.

It's in his genes to look like a disrespectful sack of shit? That's a new one. fgs.
SueSaid · 09/04/2021 16:17

I bet he would roll his eyes and at the flowers that are amassing at Windsor.

SueSaid · 09/04/2021 16:32

'It's in his genes to look like a disrespectful sack of shit?'

It's only hair, do calm down Confused.

Anyway. Sad news today that is perhaps what the op meant.

FreekStar · 09/04/2021 16:32

He looked like he hasn't washed his hair for a day or two! It was greasy! Guess he wasn't expecting to make a public appearance today! [puke]

Meltinthemiddle · 09/04/2021 16:34

I love the fact Boris has messy hair. I have messy hair so will half the country until the salons open.

no - he definitely ruffles or messes it up - as he's brushed/combed it before and it looks much better!

I've seen him in person twice too - same 'wild' look.

Yes I have met him as well

kittykatzz · 09/04/2021 16:44

Of course his hair is ridiculous...it's part of his 'brand' it's extremely arrogant and embarrassing though!

CleverCatty · 09/04/2021 16:44

[quote Unsure33]@CleverCatty

mine was opposite a station where I used to work - he got in the way was being interviewed (he was mayor then) and saw him speak at a Young Conservatives Function near where I live - we only went as wanted to hear his views on housing - mad as a box of frogs.

adeleh · 09/04/2021 16:50

I agree. And I am not someone who cares much about appearances or, usually, the Royal Family at all. But announcing anyone’s death to the nation looking like that is extremely undignified. The Queen deserves some decorum and protocol today.

adeleh · 09/04/2021 16:52

And whoever says his hair just grows like that because of his genes needs a bloody grip. What absolute bollocks.

Crankley · 09/04/2021 17:03

Pathetic.

GeidiPrimes · 09/04/2021 17:11

I know! If he wanted smooth, flat hair he could just have a brazillian blo-dry. Could have bought a kit off amazon and done it himself.

jetadore · 09/04/2021 17:20

His hair’s like that all the time though isn’t it? Even at the cenotaph. It’s deliberate so people who judge by appearances will take him for a harmless bumbling buffoon, rather than the mendacious opportunist shitbag he is.
