Are you-

  1. Redundant
  2. On furlough/flexi-furlough
  3. Kept your hours and job as it was before the pandemic

Just interested to see. I was made redundant last year. So was DD and a couple of other family members and friends. Been looking for several months and none of us been successful yet but some have had interviews.

@Sidewalksue I’m sorry it’s a rubbish situation 💐

Ericaequites · 05/04/2021 15:16

I’m a displaced worker, acting as full time cater to my partner. I had a two month work furlough last year, but gave up paid work in July 2020.

Muddywoof · 05/04/2021 15:16

Was furloughed at the start, then I went on maternity but the rest of my colleagues went back to work on more hours, all furloughed again at Christmas and now all back again on more hours. Been very lucky.
My DP lost his job the month before the first lockdown and was lucky enough to find a new one in the Autumn.

Lovingspring · 05/04/2021 15:17

2
Back on Wed. Everyone at my work (hospitality) has kept their jobs, touchwood.

8bitgame · 05/04/2021 15:19

waitingpatientlyforspring · 05/04/2021 15:19

3, worked from home except for sep-dec. DH same except be has never gone back to work in more than a year. I will probably be back in office some time this term.

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/04/2021 15:20

3 work through out, my eldest was 1 but has a job now.

132orbust · 05/04/2021 15:22
  1. I was 2 for 5/6 weeks over the summer and upped my sideline big time to make up the 20% (and then some)
Then a few week after I went back they asked if I would up my hours and take on more responsibility and knowing this would take time from my sideline I said yes but only if X, Y & Z DH has been unaffected, working slightly longer hours for no additional gain ( though some flexi time) I only know 2 people who were 1 and now they are both 5(?) i.e. have new jobs. I onl

  1. But mostly WFH with the odd day in the office here and there.

I appreciate my situation every day and really hope things improve for others.

Some friends and colleagues have been on furlough on and off, and one friend has been furloughed solidly for over a year now .

LemonSherbetFancies · 05/04/2021 15:22

Surprised to see these mainly positive comments, pleased for you all though. Don't get me wrong.

I can't think of anyone who has lost their job involuntarily, although some of my colleagues did take voluntary redundancy.

Kittytheteapot · 05/04/2021 15:23

None of those options. Both Dh and I have found new work during the last year. I was originally furloughed in a job I wasnt enjoying so took the opportunity to jump ship. Dh lost his job, but nothing to do with Covid, and has found new work after 3 months of unemployment.

Msgiggles30 · 05/04/2021 15:24

I am a 3 as are my parents and majority of friends. Feeling very lucky although exhausted from no let up during a pandemic. Sister lost her job though through redundancy last summer.

NoGoodPunsLeft · 05/04/2021 15:25
  1. So far .managed to avoid redundancy but there will be changes to my role which will mean more work. there have been loads.of redundancies in other departments (retailer head office)
132orbust · 05/04/2021 15:26

Sorry posted before finished...
I only hope that things work out for you and your family soon. It must be very stressful for you all. Flowers

Pompom2367 · 05/04/2021 15:27

3 currently working from home and very luckily just got a new job so about to hand my notice in to change roles

QueenofLouisiana · 05/04/2021 15:29

3 I’m a keyworker so have worked throughout. The mechanics and times worked have shifted about, but the hours and my salary have remained the same.

Washimal · 05/04/2021 15:31

We've been lucky. I'm a 'keyworker' so worked throughout. I've actually increased my hours (my choice) to full time compressed over 4 days. DH did a mix of WFH and office pre-covid, he's now WFH full time and got a promotion during the first lockdown. I only know one person who has been made redundant (hospitality) and one who has been furloughed (tourism) but most of our friends are either 'critical workers' or in jobs that can easily be done from home.

orangejuicer · 05/04/2021 15:32

3, WFH and small pay rise.

Pleasegodgotosleep · 05/04/2021 15:33
  1. Husband and I have both been wfh for over a year and when our offices re-open (July for him September for me) we will only go back 2 days per week and rest from home permanently. My BIL is also 3 wfh and sis is flexible furlough with dome wfh. We all know how incredibly lucky we are.
ItWasTheBestOfTimes · 05/04/2021 15:33

3, I only know one person who lost their job last June but he found another within weeks, I know 2 people on part time furlough but otherwise in our circle of family and friends there has been no change. DP is a director and has been very busy throughout. Good luck to you and your family, hope you find something soon.

Fuzzyspringroll · 05/04/2021 15:34

I changed jobs in the summer and have gone to work as normal since then. There was no option to work from home or anything like that. Same with DH. DS has been in nursery for the entire time as well.
I've just applied for a promotion.
I don't know anyone who has been made redundant.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 05/04/2021 15:35
