To presume that drug dealers have moved in over the road?

They don't seem to go to work, have five cars; a range rover, a mercedes, a BMW, an audi and a truck type thing.
A couple in their thirties with one child, renting the property in what is predominantly owner occupied road.

I'm going to get jumped on here, but they look rough, for want of a better word.

Am I being a twat for presuming they are drug dealers or money launderers/something else a bit unsavoury?

You’ve got too much time on your hands- concentrate on your own business. And as for ‘looking rough’, you sound like a judgmental [insert word I can’t say on here lest I get banned].

TooManyTowelsInThisPlace · 26/03/2021 01:13

They also have their groceries delivered by Iceland, not Sainsburys like the rest of us.....

This has got to be some troll bullshit surely.

VeniVidiWeeWee · 26/03/2021 01:17

@chelseeDagger

Thanks for a wonderful thread. You have a great talent for drawing out the best/worst of people.

jessstan2 · 26/03/2021 01:48

@ilovesooty

I spent 8 years working in drug intervention and offender management. The fact that the OP seemingly expects people to find this 1. believable or 2. amusing is quite puzzling really.
I get the impression from some of her remarks that the op is being deliberately provocative, tongue in cheek. It is working too!
jessstan2 · 26/03/2021 01:50

"You do know most drug dealers (the successful ones anyway) go out of their way to not look like drug dealers."

That's right. Some deliver pizzas on motorbikes.

ooohbriefcase · 26/03/2021 02:07

"A couple in their thirties with one child, renting the property in what is predominantly owner occupied road."

I guess that makes me and dp drug dealers as well then 😂

SakuraEdenSwan1 · 26/03/2021 03:11

You would be surprised how posh some 'drug dealers' are @ChelseeDagger

Ginuwine · 26/03/2021 03:35

The most curious thing about this whole post is @ChelseeDagger switching from genuine earnestness and frustration at these neighbours, to quickly turning their whole post into "satire" and "irony" when they saw the AIBU crowd weren't having any of their curtain twitching and judgmental approach.

So a quick couple of questions for the OP:

• is any of this actually true
• isn't the real issue here that they have five cars and park them on a road of terraces with no off street parking?

jessstan2 · 26/03/2021 05:04

The op won't come back for a while. She went visiting over the road, got stoned, ate half a pizza and some toast and is now lying on a sheepskin rug in front of the fire, marvelling at the intricate patterns on the ceiling.

cryh · 26/03/2021 05:24

@ChelseeDagger

I know I'm being judegemental!

I just don't understand why you would have cars totalling circa 400K when you are renting a house worth roughly half of that amount.

If they appeared well groomed or well spoken I'd definitely be less suspicious, yes I am aware of what that says about me but its true.

Maybe:
  • their main home is being renovated
  • they sold but purchase has fallen through
  • they have relocated
  • their insurance company is putting them up due to a house flood

There are other explanations possible.

@museumsandgalleries666

I'm loving this thread 😄
You beat me to it. Hilarious! Grin
PrincessPea11 · 26/03/2021 07:35

TeachesOfPeaches what a dream! She gets to have a quick chat with the wonderful Kathy Burke when taking the bins out. That makes up for a bit of drug dealing in my book Grin

TeachesOfPeaches · 26/03/2021 07:38

@PrincessPea11 imagine OP is sat at home thinking 'we are considerably richer than yow' Wink

jessstan2 · 26/03/2021 08:27

Will they serve brown cake and pizza if they have a house warming party, I wonder?

Fuck sake op, just go and ask them . I really don't like the gossipy curtain twitching nosey neighbour type.
jessstan2 · 28/03/2021 14:21

Neither do I mummy but I feel the op is being tongue in cheek on this thread.

I'm beginning to wonder if people ever thought we were drug dealers. Hee hee. I never notice my neighbours and assume they don't notice me.

GaryUnicorn · 29/03/2021 01:09

@ChelseeDagger

Well no, they presumably own these cars and they would have cost approx that figure when new.

If they had one brand new car I wouldn't be at all suspicious.

I am a bit pissed off that I seemingly can't park outside my house when I return from a 12 hour shift because these cars are all parked on the street (terraced housing, no driveways) but they are preumably all taxed so are entitled to park where they like.

So you’re working 12 hour shifts, how do you know they are not working? Or do you have other people spy for you while you are out for 12-13 hours at a time? Perhaps they are renting while they are having a new place built/renovated. Either way, it’s none of your business. Sorry you sometimes have trouble finding a parking space, but you sound like a complete busybody.
MintyMabel · 29/03/2021 14:03

Ok, I'm being vague here, but bad fillers and hair extensions, sunbed complexion. Beer gut, designer shorts and sliders.

Sounds like my neighbours. He owns a construction company, she owns a couple of beauty salons. Neither are drug dealers as far as I am aware.

whenthebellsring · 29/03/2021 14:27

If they appeared well groomed or well spoken I'd definitely be less suspicious, yes I am aware of what that says about me but its true

Now this is exactly why most true crime lords and ladies get away with it. They know to dress and act 'appropriately' so as to avoid suspicion. Most crimes bosses worth their salt aren't the ones you suspect.

whenthebellsring · 29/03/2021 14:31

🤣🤣🤣 Someone's been really busy.
ChelseeDagger · 29/03/2021 21:32

That's not quite the insult you think it is Grin

OP posts:
OhWhyNot · 29/03/2021 21:38

My neighbours are and they are so blatant

Had two raids and still business is booming

They don’t give a toss

Customers tend to be quiet I hardly notice anymore

Waxonwaxoff0 · 29/03/2021 22:08

I actually do live opposite drug dealers. They don't own anything expensive. Also they don't cause any hassle to me so I couldn't care less.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 29/03/2021 22:38

I know plenty of wealthy people who rent for various reasons, for instance they have come back from abroad and are waiting to find the right area. What's that old saying - don't judge a book by it's cover.

I work in a high profile area, and over time have seen many famous people come in. Trackies and trainers, and not the posh kind Grin
