To be a true feminism, I need to address my own misandry?

For example - are terms like LTB sexist?

OP posts:
FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:40

@PickAChew reverse that statement for women

OP posts:
Pumperthepumper · 23/03/2021 16:41

No, misandry isn’t in any way relevant to feminism.

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:41

@Naunet cmon!!! That’s flakey

You can’t just hold a view without challenging it! You can’t just perpetually see yourself as a victim, without addressing that you ‘might’ be a bully.

I think your also missing the "T" in the acronym LTB. It stands for "the" - as in that particular one. Women who complain of their partners being cruel, unkind or abusive are told to leave that particular man. The acronym says nothing of all men.

What are the widespread social consequences of misandry? How does misandry affect society, and to what extent?
JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 23/03/2021 16:44

Feminism != Misandry. HTH

Naunet · 23/03/2021 16:44

@Naunet cmon!!! That’s flakey

If I thought it was a genuine question I might answer you, but I suspect you’re being goady. How about you explain what you believe the difference to be? Or would you rather focus on defending men?

BrumBoo · 23/03/2021 16:45
@BrumBoo yes! Assuming all police are bastards due to the action of - I would hope - a minority.
Last I checked, the entire police weren't of the male sex. Regardless, many thought the police were not to be trusted long before it transpired they attack/rape/murder/chop up women on the side. Mostly with blatant racism.

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:45

@Pumperthepumper it’s not addressed. Very, very rarely. Is that equality? Compare the Gillette ad with the Always ad.

To what end though? What’s the overreaching consequences of misandry in society?

B33Fr33 · 23/03/2021 16:46

Play to your strengths. You don't have to be the one person who fixes all the problems.

@Naunet am I goady - or are you goady?

Ok, so why not tell us what you believe the difference is between equalitarianism and feminism?

In what way, dear?

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:51

@Pumperthepumper I feel it exists - I feel addressing it would lead to a fairer society. I agree that the typically oppressed should challenge the oppressors - no doubt. In order to make our streets safer for women, do we hurl abuse at the typically make police force - and risk recruitment issues. Or do we work together with our police force for positive change?

@Naunet I invite you to go first!

Just answer the question - what effect does misandry have on society at large? What are the consequences of misandry in society?

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:52

Male - not make

OP posts:
FrogOfFrogHall · 23/03/2021 16:52

I consider myself a feminist but I have never hurled abuse at police officers. Am I doing it wrong?

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:53

@Pumperthepumper that we assume many men are bastards due to the actions of a few.

OP posts:
Naunet · 23/03/2021 16:54

MRA 🙄 feminism must first focus on all the Bad Things that happen to men...

You asked a question, I would like to know if you even understand what feminism is, because it really doesn’t sound like you do.

Pumperthepumper · 23/03/2021 16:54
@Pumperthepumper that we assume many men are bastards due to the actions of a few.
OH MY GOD, can you answer the question?! What effect does that have on society at large? What’s the consequences of misandry?

Do you want me to list some for misogyny for some ideas?

RedToothBrush · 23/03/2021 16:54

Why do MRA get upset about telling a woman to LTB for abusive, coercive or just general shitty behaviour that treats her like an emotional doormat, sex slave, free cooking and cleaning service or punchbag?

Its hard to work this out.

Posters on MN say LTB in response to a red flag parade not just for shits and giggles.

Enjoy the screenshots.

Bewilderness's Rules:
1st rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.
2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.
4th rule of misogyny: Women's opinions are violence against men thus male violence against women is justified.
5th rule of misogyny: Women and Feminism must be useful to men or they are worthless.
6th rule of misogyny: Women who go around being female AT men by menstruating and breast feeding babies deserve punishment.
7th rule of misogyny: Women should always be grateful to men for everything.
8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.
9th rule of misogyny: Men always know the "real reasons" for everything women do and say.
10th rule of misogyny: The worst thing about male violence is that it makes men look bad.
11th rule of misogyny: whatever women suffer from, it is worse when it happens to men.
12th rule of misogyny: Women's ability to recognize male behavior patterns is misandry.
13th rule of misogyny: Women are not oppressed! Rape and catcalling and objectification are all compliments, not oppression.

How many does the OP score?

FerrisWheelTrain · 23/03/2021 16:55

@Pumperthepumper which is the problem with stereotyping groups within a society as a whole.
