To think Harry threw Meghan to the lions

Arielsvoice · 09/03/2021 16:00

OK apologies its another thread on this but hear me out

So I've watched the interview and I think Harry actually comes off looking much worse and that Meghan is actually suffering because he's a pretty shit partner.

On watching it and if you take what she says at face value:

Why didn't he tell her what it was all about given that she said she didn't know anything about the royals?

Why didn't he warn her what happened to his mother if she was that unaware?

Why didn't he arrange mental health support given he's had a therapist on speed dial for years?

Why didn't he stand up against Kate if she made Meghan cry?

Why have another child if he knows that there won't be any security for Archie?

Why not sort out a realistic plan to support himself before leaving rather than making knee jerk reactions which put his wife and child at risk?

So many questions that actually make Harry look like a pretty shit husband. To me he seems to be the one that is responsible for putting Meghan into the situation she's in now and then to make himself look better throws his family under the bus rather than take responsibility.

YANBU - Harry needs to take some responsibility for Meghan's experiences

YABU - he is not to blame for what happened to her.

She’s acting and most of what she said BS.

Allington · 09/03/2021 20:34

She chose her own doctor for the pregnancy - why couldn't she have spoken to them about her mental health?

BMW6 · 09/03/2021 20:34

@BellamyBells

I honestly still don't get where all the vile stuff is coming from? It's so bizarre. The media have done so well to turn people against her. It's unreal!
I'm guessing the "vile stuff" is coming from those who watched the show? Hmm
MindfullWWer · 09/03/2021 20:36

I think Harry has an axe to grind with his Dad & Camilla.
Just because they put a front on for the cameras, and Charles spending shed loads on positive PR, doesn't mean he has forgiven them for breaking his mum's heart, and her early death. I think mentioning the crown to James Cordon was a nod to that. William has to suck it up regardless as he's the future king. Thats where the differences are.

Meredithgrey1 · 09/03/2021 20:37
@Meredithgrey1 so what else are they lying about?
It did strike me as odd to say “we got married three days before. No one knows that”. Well, no one knows that because you didn’t.
It’s such a silly lie, because it allows everyone to say what you’ve just said, “what else did they lie about”.
If she’d said “we actually had a separate blessing, just the two of us, before the wedding. It was lovely to have that privacy to say our vows” then no one could say anything about that.
I don’t think it was a deliberate lie, (what would be the point?) but it was naive.

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 09/03/2021 20:40

Strange how little she knew about the royal family. She was pictured sitting on the railings outside BP aged 15.

She was upset with the press coverage, yet at the same time said she doesn’t read any of it.

They found being royal an unpleasant dreadful trap, yet wanted their son to be a prince. When he wasn’t entitled to be one.

She said someone aired a ‘concern’ about what colour their baby would be when she was pregnant. He said someone ‘asked’ what colour their baby would be when they first got together.

So many inconsistencies.

Sadsiblingatsea · 09/03/2021 20:41

Can’t stand either of them.
A pair of middle aged moaners.

ExtraordinaryQuince · 09/03/2021 20:42

As for M why would you not research what you were getting into, surely she would research a TV role so why not this job? Yes it's family but as she said it's also a business.. I'm sure I heard a previous interview in which she said her friends urged her not to marry him as the press would be all over her.

SmokedDuck · 09/03/2021 20:43

If you take what they said at face value, it certainly raises some questions about those things. Like, why would you not tell her about how introductions should go?

Stuff like security for the baby it is difficult to take at face value though, and it tends to make me question the other things that seem off.

Oprah doesn't ask real questions or some of those things might have been clarified.

Allington · 09/03/2021 20:43

I don’t think it was a deliberate lie, (what would be the point?)

No, I don't think so either. But it suggests how reliable her perspective is on the situation. Reality seems a bit blurred, which does affect how seriously to take other claims.

Depending on the tone, the statements are similar.
Gamefacer · 09/03/2021 20:44

I think the secret wedding was an attempt to demonstrate that she’d “ got one over on the press.” It’s just horrible how easily the lies spill out of her mouth. I think she convinces herself that she’s telling the truth.

HairyChin · 09/03/2021 20:47

I thought the whole thing was disgusting and it'll come back to bite them

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 09/03/2021 20:47

Yes. The timings seem a little different.

VladmirsPoutine · 09/03/2021 20:50

Strange how little she knew about the royal family.

At 15 I visited The Palace of Versailles and have a pics from it with my family. I'm now over twice that age and aren't very familiar with the ins and outs of the French revolution. It's a tourist spot.

She was upset with the press coverage, yet at the same time said she doesn’t read any of it.

She literally said that her friends and family would call her expressing a lot of worry and concern about the coverage. She said she tried to avoid reading too much of it owing to how on the edge she was.

Your post is totally disingenuous. Just say you dislike her and keep it moving. You're in the majority.

VladmirsPoutine · 09/03/2021 20:52

Well, no one knows that because you didn’t.

How do you know they didn't Confused

The threads on Meghan here are frankly unhinged. Really to the point its pathological.

Becles · 09/03/2021 20:53

@JingsMahBucket Summarised the title issue perfectly.

The issue with Archie that they felt was racist is this

When Charles ascends to the throne, his grandchildren would then be called princes and princesses. This is the usual rule everyone keeps talking about. In this case, Archie, seeing as how William’s children had been given a special allocation already

H & M’s complaint that while Meghan was pregnant was the RF and the institution wanted to change the rules to deliberately not give Archie the title of prince when Charles became king, thus stripping Archie of his rightful title of prince. That’s why they were implying it was backhanded prejudice

The Royal family as an institution were looking to remove the right of the first mixed race blood royal to gain a title when his grandfather becomes King. Now think about how that plays out in the commonwealth and ethnic minority groups across the UK.

shouldistop · 09/03/2021 20:56

So she went to HR to ask for help as she was struggling with her mental health. They said they couldn't help. She's a very rich woman and there wasn't any way for her to pay for help herself?
She isn't coming across as genuine at all.
Apparently weeping every time the lights went down at the concert and not one person noticed or took a photograph of smudged make up or red eyes?

shouldistop · 09/03/2021 20:58

How do you know they didn't

Well it's easily checked by looking at their marriage certificate. She also said it was just her, Harry and the Archbishop which isn't possible with a legal marriage as you need witnesses.

ScribblingPixie · 09/03/2021 20:59

I read that Harry had texted Oprah later on to tell her that the person making the comments about the colour of the baby’s skin was not the Queen or Phillip.

How thick must he be not to realise that the entire UK would hear the interview, turn to each other and say "Oh that'll be Prince Phillip"?

RootyT00t · 09/03/2021 20:59

Victim blaming. Nice.
Shelby2010 · 09/03/2021 20:59

Apparently they didn’t get paid for the interview? If that’s true, then what was the point?

When they decided to ‘step back’ from the RF, my limited interest was to wish them well. Just get on with raising your children & be happy. All this drama is so pointless & Jeremy Kyle.

As far as Archie not being a Prince, well neither are Princess Anne’s or Prince Edward’s children. And if they expect to live in a different country but still be funded by the British tax payer, well think again! There would have been a massive uproar.

No one has come out of this well, but everyone seems pleased to have something to talk about that isn’t Covid or Brexit, so maybe it was a carefully planned public service.

shouldistop · 09/03/2021 21:01

Victim blaming. Nice.

You believe she's a victim, I don't.

Ijustknowitstimetogo · 09/03/2021 21:01

I don’t particularly dislike her. She’s very beautiful. Facially.

She just seems to be a delusional narcissist who thought she would be able to call the shots and didn’t want to spend the rest of her life looking at William and Kate’s backs.

I believe her about her mental health and suicidal thoughts.
