To think Harry threw Meghan to the lions

OK apologies its another thread on this but hear me out

So I've watched the interview and I think Harry actually comes off looking much worse and that Meghan is actually suffering because he's a pretty shit partner.

On watching it and if you take what she says at face value:

Why didn't he tell her what it was all about given that she said she didn't know anything about the royals?

Why didn't he warn her what happened to his mother if she was that unaware?

Why didn't he arrange mental health support given he's had a therapist on speed dial for years?

Why didn't he stand up against Kate if she made Meghan cry?

Why have another child if he knows that there won't be any security for Archie?

Why not sort out a realistic plan to support himself before leaving rather than making knee jerk reactions which put his wife and child at risk?

So many questions that actually make Harry look like a pretty shit husband. To me he seems to be the one that is responsible for putting Meghan into the situation she's in now and then to make himself look better throws his family under the bus rather than take responsibility.

YANBU - Harry needs to take some responsibility for Meghan's experiences

YABU - he is not to blame for what happened to her.

He seems to have a lot of resentment and rage towards his family. I wonder how much of it was there a long time before Megan. I’m pleased we can see the ‘evil woman stealing man away from his family’ narrative is false!

This.

I think Harry wanted a mouthpiece. He chose Meghan as he knew he could press her buttons and she as an outspoken and articulate woman would speak up on his behalf.

If you were to expel anyone who hadn't done anything of worth from having a public profile then entertainment and news as we see it today would only consist of weather reports.

The news I listen to tends to get the opinions of people who are experts in their field (including those whose expertise is based on experience, such as Marcus Rashford). Often experts who disagree with each other, but they are asked why/how they have come to their differing conclusions.

Same with entertainment - there is a skill to writing/acting/directing. AmDram is fun if it is your friends and family, of course, but in the absence of my little darlings being the donkey in the Nativity I prefer to watch professional productions.

@VladmirsPoutine

who worked in their day and perhaps Anne's kids and the York sisters. All these younger ones work, they have jobs

I too used to be absolutely shattered from my days spent at ribbon cutting ceremonies and smiling at cakes at the parish fête. I needed a holiday to recover from that time I spent 15mins waving to and shaking hands with some people from a charity or something.

that's not a fair representation of the work Princess Anne does.
JustLyra · 09/03/2021 20:12

I said this on another thread earlier.

The fact he admitted that he told NO members of his family about her feeling suicidal is appalling. How can he say he did all he could to help her when he didn't even speak to people around them who may have been able to remove blocks to help?

Between that and how unprepared she was generally (which is a funny coincidence that he was dumped by Chelsea and Cressida when they realised just how much was involved in marrying him, yet married the one that didn't know...) she'd be told to "LTB" if she posted on here I think.

randomer · 09/03/2021 20:14

He is a bit intellectually challenged

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:14

I did like H&M when they got married & it all seemed so promising!

Sorry but the whole interview was just 2 hours of bloody wingeing in their multi million pound home in LA

They are utterly tone deaf to what is going on out there in the real world!

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:15

I'm sorry if Meghan was feeling suicidal during her pregnancy but I don't believe nobody helped her

What about her midwife, the perinatal mental health team getting involved...surely the royal family wouldn't be blocking any of that happening?

Meredithgrey1 · 09/03/2021 20:16

Why didn't he stand up against Kate if she made Meghan cry?

I don’t disagree with you generally, especially on the mental health point. However re Kate, it doesn’t sound like a massively serious argument, and it was one Kate apologised for. It doesn’t sound like something I would want/need my DH to get involved in, if it were me.

campion · 09/03/2021 20:17

@Amanduh

At least 90% of what they said was utter bollocks so I can’t really judge. My favourite part of the soap opera was when they lied about getting married three days before, the part when she pretended she didn’t know anything before going in, the part when she said she was trapped and couldnt even go to lunch despite jetting around to at least four countries in one summer, Harry saying he never got to go bike riding as a child despite there being two decades worth of photos of him being ridden around by Charles and then by himself, and mostly when they said they wanted to get ‘back to basics’ and ‘live authentically’ their £15 million pound house with 16 bathrooms whilst Archie shouts ‘hydrate’ constantly to everyone. Harry literally was astounded his father cut him off financially after he left (imagine! You left and want him and the taxpayer to bank roll you?!) leaving him with only tens and tens of millions. Cry me a river Haz. I think they are both idiots Grin
Very well said.
TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:17

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit

Here here

I am totally in agreement with your assessment of the pair of them

shouldistop · 09/03/2021 20:19

How did they get married 3 days before their wedding with just them & the Archbishop? Where were the 2 witnesses. And surely it can easily be disproved by looking up their marriage certificate?

Meredithgrey1 · 09/03/2021 20:21

I believe it has since been clarified that they didn’t. The legal wedding was the one that was televised.
TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:21

@Amanduh

Took the words out of my mouth

I'd say 99% bollocks Grin

They truly are a pair of bloody over privileged spoilt entitled muppets!

Hopefully now they'll just shut up and crack on with their lives (highly doubtful!)

BellamyBells · 09/03/2021 20:22

I honestly still don't get where all the vile stuff is coming from? It's so bizarre. The media have done so well to turn people against her. It's unreal!

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:26

@Meredithgrey1

Yes the whole thing just makes me think Meghan was spouting utter shite

She really is a moron- so they've enjoyed a 32 million pound wedding & she bleats on how she wanted it to be just them & intimate etc

x2boys · 09/03/2021 20:26

I doubt Meghan was treated by a NHS midwife though ,who would have been obliged to get mental health services involved ,the very rich can do what they want and it's the royal family,imagine if Meghan was referred to a private psychiatrist and it got out ,she was already being slagged off left right and centre and people are saying on this thread and others and all over social media they don't believe she had mental health issues ,she can't do anything right ,when she spoke out about her miscarriage there was a thread on here which was vile one poster inferred she was trying to upstage Kate Middleton,s loss of the family dog! She couldn't even grieve the loss of pregnancy right according to some .

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:27

I think she's done a good enough job of spouting crap and allowing listeners to come to their own conclusions!

Elsia · 09/03/2021 20:27

I quite liked them. Have always had a crush on Harry. I’m kind of on the fence about the whole thing.

But to be honest you could drive a coach and horses through some of the stuff they came out with. They are very bitter and not very credible. I feel sorry for them all, it’s sad that it’s come to this, and I don’t really know what they were hoping to achieve with this circus.

I read that Harry had texted Oprah later on to tell her that the person making the comments about the colour of the baby’s skin was not the Queen or Phillip. It made me wonder if he was annoyed/rattled by her telling that story. He refused to be drawn on it anyway.

Also...I think she really doesn’t like Kate.

shouldistop · 09/03/2021 20:28

@Meredithgrey1 so what else are they lying about?

RootyT00t · 09/03/2021 20:28

🙄🙄🙄🙄

In short? No.

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:30

Well, whoever the pregnant women is, however rich or privileged, if they are threatening suicide a healthcare professional is risking a lot to just let it slide & raise concerns

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:32

@Elsia

Yes Meghan absolutely does not like Kate that's for sure!

Interesting to hear how she didn't say- I didn't make Kate cry...rather it was the reverse...seriously wondered if this was school playground chat

WindowsSmindows · 09/03/2021 20:32

I agree with you OP, I think he has let her down.

TurquoiseDress · 09/03/2021 20:33

*let it slide & NOT raise concerns

GoodMumBadMum · 09/03/2021 20:33

She's a grown woman with access to google - she hasn't been living under a rock, of course she knew what the royal family was like & what happened to Diana!

The whole therapist thing is so odd though. If she was feeling that low that she needed help, he should have got her help. But she isn't saying he didn't get her help, she is saying she was stopped from getting help, which isn't the same thing. I don't really understand how she was "stopped" from getting help. Surely if Harry or anyone at the palace wanted a person of any profession (doctor, lawyer, tutor, stripper, ANYTHING) to come to the palace, they would have someone there within the hour. Harry has spoken multiple times about his own therapy and has championed mental health issues for a number if years so it doesn't sound true that she would be stopped from getting help. She said a senior royal and an HR rep stopped her, but if she was married to an ordinary guy and his parents/grandparents/HR rep said don't get help, she would've told them to do one.
