What time do you go to bed?

Posting for traffic

I usually go to bed between 1-2am and now I'm thinking this isn't normal after reading many threads where people are going to bed much earlier... the other day I read a thread where op was worried for her adult daughter having to work til 10pm, both my mil and Dm go to bed at 9 ish, my sil is also in bed by 9...

So what time do you go to bed usually?

@Roystonv exactly the same as most people I guess! Clean, play on my phone, watch a film, browse MN, prep food for the next day

WhoAreYah · 07/03/2021 21:46

About 11.

shinynewapple21 · 07/03/2021 21:54

I go to bed around 8 hours before I need to get up . At the moment it tends to be bed around midnight , alarm on for 8 am. Weekends I go to bed a bit later

This is based around me working from home . It takes me ages to wake up in the morning . Pre Covid i would aim to go to bed around 11 to get up at 7. I used to have disrupted nights around my DH's shifts but get better sleep now .

BertieBotts · 07/03/2021 21:56

11-12.

I would prefer to go to bed at 1-2am, that's much more my natural bedtime. But then ideally I'd be able to wake up at 9-10am and that's just not realistic having young kids.

I need to be awake by 7, that's why I go to bed earlier. Some days it's earlier than that because DS2 wakes up early.

I start trying to "wind down" from 10pm which makes it easier to go to bed at 11 reliably.

TheChosenTwo · 07/03/2021 22:03

I usually head up to bed around 9/10 unless something exciting is happening downstairs Grin weekends we hang out and have kind of party nights with the dc, playing pool, listening to music, cooking together etc.
So weekdays about 9:30 but then I read and watch tv until about 1am. Alarm goes off every other morning at 5:30 for a run/shower before work. 6:30 on non run days.

EllaPaella · 07/03/2021 22:03

I go up around 10, read until about 11-11.30 then up at 7am. As long as I can get a good 7 hours sleep I am fine the next day.

BearSoFair · 07/03/2021 22:06

Around 11, usually up at 6:30. Not uncommon for me to wake up for an hour or so in the night, I hate it!

Mumofsend · 07/03/2021 22:07

Whenever DD finally crashes to sleep

MacbookHoHoHo · 07/03/2021 22:07

I ALWAYS used to go to bed after midnight. Last year I started going up at 10.30, and getting every every day at 7.30. Honestly, it’s transformed my life. I feel so much better.

ApplesinmyPocket · 07/03/2021 22:09

1-2am is my usual bedtime, and I'm always awake in the morning before 8 am, but I do have a 'nap' in the afternoon (4.30-6pm perhaps, to me the dead hours of the day).

A "privilege" of being old and retired maybe? I have always enjoyed being up early in the morning to enjoy that first coffee before the household awakes, and I also love being awake late in the night after it sleeps.

And I love that, come 4pm when I'm feeling sleepy, I can just doze till the nice evening walk/tv/MN/YouTube time begins.

Greencabin · 07/03/2021 22:10

Usually around 11pm. I'm asleep in 5 minutes. I wake up between 6-7am depending on when our DD wakes up!

doctorhamster · 07/03/2021 22:26

I go try and go to sleep at 10.30/11 and have to get up at 6.30. My body naturally wants to do 12.30 til 8.30 but unfortunately I start work at 8...

Nenevalleykayaker · 07/03/2021 22:28

@JackieBeaver I’m with you. Around 2.30am but I won’t fall asleep until gone 3am

Every night, school nights, work nights, still have to get up at 7am for school run.

It was different when I was single, and again a lone parent. Used to go to bed around 11pm

When I lived with someone again my bedtime kind of synchronises with his now.

MegaClutterSlut · 07/03/2021 22:34

Try to go to bed around 11 ish but I don't normally fall asleep to around 1-2 am Hmm

LouLou789 · 07/03/2021 22:39

DH has just retired and I only work a few hours a week so we go at 11 or just after. With no alarm, I normally wake around 6.30. I think DH could happily sleep till 11am if undisturbed. Went earlier when we were working more. Effing (retired) neighbours with washing machine on full blast at 1am.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 07/03/2021 23:15

11 or so in the week, 11.30 on weekends but I'm always a little tired, really I ought to try and make the effort to go to bed more like 10.30 based on having to be up between 6 & 6.30

Rizzoli123 · 07/03/2021 23:15

Usually midnight on a school night. If school holidays a bit later. I like to cross stitch and knit so i like to finish the section im doing before bed could be as late as 1 - 2am

Seasidemumma77 · 07/03/2021 23:23

Totally dependent on what shift I've worked that day, and what shift I'm working following day.

CustardySergeant · 07/03/2021 23:53

Between 2 and 3 am.

Wanderlust20 · 07/03/2021 23:56

Midnight (and I'm 6 months pregnant!). Baby hasn't made me tired yet... But I've always been a night owl.

MaryShelley1818 · 08/03/2021 00:15

I go to bed at 8pm with my 3yr old, read him a story then cuddle up with him and sleep for a couple of hours.
DH then brings DD up (5wks old tomorrow) and I feed her, settle her and back to sleep between 12-1 until anywhere between 3-5, feed and settle again, then another couple of hours if I can.

samandpoppysmummy · 08/03/2021 00:42

Around 1.00am. I always struggle to get up in the morning, but can't seem to make myself go to bed any earlier!

Maggie900 · 08/03/2021 00:53

I go to bed around 1-2am. Up at 8am. Always struggle to get up but seem to power on through and repeat the cycle.

When Children are back to school it will more likely be 12.30-1am and up at 7. Urghh.

SquizzaMama · 08/03/2021 00:58

Usually, I’d be in bed by 11pm latest. But lockdown / furlough has messed with my sleeping habits big time. Now I go to bed between 1-2am. I’m shattered constantly...but furlough anxiety prohibits a healthy sleep pattern.

safclass · 08/03/2021 01:00

Normally around 12.30ish.up at 6.30.
