Posting for traffic

I usually go to bed between 1-2am and now I'm thinking this isn't normal after reading many threads where people are going to bed much earlier... the other day I read a thread where op was worried for her adult daughter having to work til 10pm, both my mil and Dm go to bed at 9 ish, my sil is also in bed by 9...

So what time do you go to bed usually?

As a teen, my bedtime was 9.30 and even now at 53, I think of 9.30 as bedtime! During the week, I'm always in bed by 10pm and may read for half an hour or so. I get up at 6am Mon -Fri for work. Tend to get up around 8am at the weekend.

Lostinthewilderness · 07/03/2021 20:53

At the moment normally turn off lights around 10.30/11 . Go into bed with a book earlier though.

Before I was working from home I had a long horrid commute so would go to bed at 9ish

Waxonwaxoff0 · 07/03/2021 20:54

Before 10pm as I have to get up at 5am on weekdays for work.

Roystonv · 07/03/2021 20:54

Yes, what do people do up after midnight when you have a busy day next day. Can understand say 10-11 but after that??

JustPootlingAlong · 07/03/2021 20:56

When I was younger, i would normally go to bed between 1-2am and be up between 6-7am. No idea how I coped with such little sleep!
Now I mostly go to bed between 9-10pm and up at 7am. I have gone to bed at 7.30pm a few times in the last few months once I have put the baby to bed if I am feeling exhausted.

therocinante · 07/03/2021 20:57

About 1 at the moment, with 2 if I've had too much coffee. Non-WFH times it was about 11.30...

I like being awake when everyone else is asleep, helps me decompress.

LampsOn · 07/03/2021 20:57

10ish

JaceLancs · 07/03/2021 20:59

10 ish but then read or play on phone for at least an hour

Bed at by 9.30/9.45. Lights out by 10.45. Sleep like a baby until after 7am. If I stay awake until 11.45 it takes a lot longer to go to sleep and I'm up much earlier.

That's probably the only good thing about lock down. So much time home alone (with DH) had taught me the absolute joy of alcohol free early nights.

Bouledeneige · 07/03/2021 21:00

12-1am and sometimes later. My sleep has gone to pot during lockdown but probably because of other stresses and strains.

I've always been a late bird. And an insomniac. I'd love to get a better sleep routine....

Diesse · 07/03/2021 21:00

9ish. Sleep by 10ish.

Wannabangbang · 07/03/2021 21:02

Around 10pm go to sleep around 11pm

MrsMop1964 · 07/03/2021 21:03

About 1, but only when my 'sensible' head tells me to because of work. I'm often annoyed though because I have interests that involve events or conversations with people in different time zones so just when I have to go to bed they're online and ready to interact. I also follow a foreign band and have been known to stay awake to watch them perform live at silly o'clock, but it's a grind at work afterwards.

Bringonthemushrooms · 07/03/2021 21:04

In bed between 10.30pm and 11.00pm asleep by midnight up at 7.30am ( weekdays ) weekends stay up till about 1am

Worrywobbles · 07/03/2021 21:07

Usually in bed around 10pm. Awake at 7am.

InsufferablePerformanceFather · 07/03/2021 21:09

10ish. Up at 6ish.

jmh740 · 07/03/2021 21:12

If left to my own devices without having to get up for work I used to go anytime between 11-2. Had covid in October and now struggle to stay awake after 10, I have to get up at 6.

Frozenintime · 07/03/2021 21:14

I go upstairs at 8.30. wash/ brush teeth put pj' s on. Then read in bed. Only place can get some peace

RuthW · 07/03/2021 21:25

Sun- Thur I go up about 10.10pm. About an hour later Fri and Sat. My alarm goes off for work at 5.15am.

bakingdemon · 07/03/2021 21:30

Ideally by 10.30. DS is usually up c6.30 and I need 7-8 hours sleep to function.

OP what time do you get up if you go to bed that light?

NovemberR · 07/03/2021 21:32

9.30-10pm. Often read for an hour.

Try to have lights out before 11pm. Have to get up at 6.30am for work. I don't sleep well - but I'm worse if I'm later than this.

Hedoesntsuitaponytail · 07/03/2021 21:38

Around midnight, used to be much earlier before Dd, now I try to stretch my alone time out as long as possible, silly really as she’s up early and I’m more exhausted

DinosaurDiana · 07/03/2021 21:38

10pm. Sometimes a little read, sometimes straight to sleep.
I used to stay up later with DH but he was just drinking wine and going on his iPad, so I didn’t see the point. Sleep is precious.

FakingMemories · 07/03/2021 21:40

Around 9 or 10 pm. Up at 4. Start work at 5.
