What time do you go to bed?

Posting for traffic

I usually go to bed between 1-2am and now I'm thinking this isn't normal after reading many threads where people are going to bed much earlier... the other day I read a thread where op was worried for her adult daughter having to work til 10pm, both my mil and Dm go to bed at 9 ish, my sil is also in bed by 9...

So what time do you go to bed usually?

I'm in bed by 10 (long before my teens 😳). I wake up early and love going to bed early.

PurBal · 07/03/2021 19:38
  1. Up at 630ish. We sleep too much.
RamblingFar · 07/03/2021 19:38

4am-ish at the moment. Currently finishing work around 2:30am, then dinner, then bed.

Still trying to decide if I want to swap and continue working into the morning and not start until 11pm. Or whether I want to start at 5pm. Also whether I keep my lunchtime job as that's what really messes up the sleep.

The idea was I had more daylight for outdoor exercise, but I'm still not getting out much.

Suzi888 · 07/03/2021 19:38

Can range from 8pm on a Sunday to 9/10/11pm throughout the week.

FourEyesGood · 07/03/2021 19:39

I go to bed at 10ish and read for a bit - am usually asleep by 10.30pm. I get up at 6am.

ChronicallyCurious · 07/03/2021 19:41

On a work night anywhere between 11-1230. On the weekend probably 2am.

Currently furloughed so my sleeping pattern is all over the place and currently go to bed at roughly 330am.

Carolina24 · 07/03/2021 19:42

Currently around 9:30 when my baby does. Usually my preferred bedtime is 10 - 10:30. I love an early night Grin I’d be dead on my feet if I stayed up til 1 or 2 regularly!

JackieBeaver · 07/03/2021 19:43

@JayAlfredPrufrock

What are you doing at that time of night?
Sometimes I'm working, sometimes I end up in a mumsnet rabbit hole, sometimes watching a film.

Always regret it the next morning but dc don't go to sleep til 10-11 so I feel like evenings are my free time

Between 9-10. Usually 9:30 and don’t think I routinely see 10pm on the clock.

Late 20s and a toddler if that affects anything.

Rememberallball · 07/03/2021 19:47

Usually between 6:30 and 8pm depending on 18m DTs and what time they had their nap. Never later than 9pm though. Once they’re asleep I read or watch tv till around 10:30-11pm and then sleep between night feeds. Normally awake from 1am feed till 5am so, if I’m lucky, I get 10:30-11pm to 1am and then 5-6/7am depending on what time they wake up in the morning.we’re usually downstairs having breakfast between 7-8:30am
Depending on what time DH starts work

Youarenothere · 07/03/2021 19:49

Generally Bed at 10, asleep 10.30, up 6-7.
But I have a sick DS who doesn’t sleep and pregnancy insomnia, so really I’m asleep 10.30-2, awake 2-5, then asleep 5-6.30. It’s shit and I’m shattered.

queenatom · 07/03/2021 19:50

About 10, usually asleep by 10.30. Generally up at 5.30ish.

CandleWick4 · 07/03/2021 19:51

This thread has made me feel a bit abnormal. I sleep a lot I think? Normally in bed around half 9, hour of tele and asleep by 11 and if my alarm isn’t set (which as of tomorrow it will be set for 7am for the foreseeable) I’ll naturally wake at 8am. Sounds a bit childish but I couldn’t imagine being up and about the house after 11pm and even more so at 2am.

Baker90 · 07/03/2021 19:51

Tend to go up between 8 and 9, fall asleep around 10.30/11. Have a wakeful toddler and suffer from cfs and insomnia (which is a fun combo) so like to go up early and get comfy.

CandleWick4 · 07/03/2021 19:52

Also I’ve got to say the amount of people up before 6am is interesting to me. I feel lazy now Blush

Floralnomad · 07/03/2021 19:54

I go up to bed at about 10 , have a bath then watch TV / play games on the iPad until about 2 then sleep , alarm goes off at 7:30 . 5/6 hours is plenty of sleep for me , I’m never tired during the day / evening .

KasparKat · 07/03/2021 19:54

During lockdown I have got into the habit of going to bed at midnight as DC are in bed at 8 and DH in bed at 11pm so I have one delicious hour of alone time 😊. But I really need to get to bed by 11pm now that schools are open again, it's just so hard to get off the sofa and go to bed!

Figgygal · 07/03/2021 19:55

10/10.30 listen to some radio 5 live until 10.45/11
Been getting later in lockdown but going to try be upstairs by 10 again

Christmasfairy2020 · 07/03/2021 19:55

1030 usually on a weekday. Issue is I'm doing an open uni course so gonna bed at midnight and its killing me

ChippyChickenChips · 07/03/2021 19:56

Not a great sleeper. Go to bed 1 - 2, might get an hour's sleep and the up for a couple of hours. Back to bed around 5am and hope for 4 hours

This is me exactly

SplendidSuns1000 · 07/03/2021 19:57

In bed by 11:30-midnight, asleep by 1-2. Usually awake at 7 but I've nowhere to be so either stay in bed or move to sofa with a blanket.
I'd rather go to sleep later and wake up later, I love the quiet at night.

SickofCovid · 07/03/2021 19:57

^^TomorrowIsAnotherDae

I’m usually in bed by 9’ish, but sometimes, like tonight, I get into bed about 7pm and read or watch tv for a bit. Usually try to sleep around 10’ish and up at 6am most days. I’m in my 50’s now, I think age plays a factor.

This is me, I'm a couple of weeks off 50, work 32 hrs over 3 days and suffer with a chronic disease with chronic fatigue being a huge factor. Up at 7, work, come home, cook for 3, throw on a wash, sit for an hour and then to bed. I feel really guilty as I leave my husband downstairs every night watching TV. My job is non stop, constant noise so chilling in my room is my down time.

YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer · 07/03/2021 19:58

I use to stay up until 11 because it seemed the "adult thing" to do. But I was always so tired and miserable the next day. I realized I dont have to stay up late. I usually go to sleep between 930 and 1000. I'm up at 445.
Of course this is just for work nights. If I'm off the next day I'm usually up until around 3am.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 07/03/2021 19:58

I’ve evolved to this time this lockdown
We have all and it’s a nightmare
I’m gently dosing us in melatonin to get back to normal

peanutbutter00 · 07/03/2021 19:58

Everyone has a different schedule I suppose. I got to bed at 9pm as I'm up at 5am and find it tough to function without a proper nights rest. If I didn't have to be up so early for work I'd probably go to bed at 11
