Posting for traffic

I usually go to bed between 1-2am and now I'm thinking this isn't normal after reading many threads where people are going to bed much earlier... the other day I read a thread where op was worried for her adult daughter having to work til 10pm, both my mil and Dm go to bed at 9 ish, my sil is also in bed by 9...

So what time do you go to bed usually?

OP posts:

10.30 - 11 ish

ladywithnomanors · 07/03/2021 20:15

If I’m working the following day then anytime between 8am and 10pm. But if it’s earlier I’m usually on Facebook, YouTube etc.
If I’m not working it can be as late as midnight but usually a bit earlier.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 07/03/2021 20:15

Between 10pm and 11pm up at 6.30am -

sbhydrogen · 07/03/2021 20:18

Get into bed around 11:30pm and aim to turn the light off by midnight.

Whoopsies · 07/03/2021 20:20

I go to bed ridiculously early! I'm already in bed now and it's 8 20pm. I need so much sleep and have little kids who still sometimes have me up in the night. I would rather sacrifice the evening to not feel tired the next day. DH is up at 4am for work so we go to bed together early!

QuidditchQueen · 07/03/2021 20:23

I get up at 5 so if n bed by 9 ish -read till I fall asleep maybe half an hour.
Could never stay up till 1-am!!!

YukoandHiro · 07/03/2021 20:24

At the moment, 9pm latest. But I have a 5 month old who likes to check that I'm still around at least hourly throughout the night.....

I know this ends as I've done it before but FML

YukoandHiro · 07/03/2021 20:25

(Having said that I got only 2 hours last night so I'm in bed with a cup of tea already)

bloodywhitecat · 07/03/2021 20:26

9pm usually. DP is normally shattered by then, he goes to sleep quite quickly but I stay awake until 11-11.30pm watching TV. Up at 7am.

TheFiend · 07/03/2021 20:26

Between 10 and 11. I’m up between 7 and 7.30. I need at least 8 hours to function, I don’t cope with little sleep.

Imapotato · 07/03/2021 20:29

I go up to bed at 9.30/10 but normally read/watch tv until around 11/11.30. Up at 7.

I need enough sleep or I’m a miserable cow!

GlamourSpider · 07/03/2021 20:30

I'm usually in bed at about 10.30, asleep sometime between 11 and 12, got to get up at 7. DP seems to need less sleep, asleep between 1 and 3 and up at 8.

ilikebungalows · 07/03/2021 20:30

When I was working I used to go to bed after the 9pm news, had to get up at the crack of dawn to have any chance of getting a parking space. Now that I'm retired, 9pm feels like the middle of the afternoon. I usually go to bed at 11-30pm/midnight. I sleep badly so I have a nice long lie-in most days. Glorious, I've always hated getting up early.

LBOCS2 · 07/03/2021 20:30

I take myself to bed at between midnight and half past. Up at 7.30-8ish. Works perfectly for me, I'm a night owl.

DH falls asleep on the sofa at 9.30 and is up at 5.30. We just have very different natural sleep schedules 🤷🏼‍♀️

Squirrelblanket · 07/03/2021 20:31

I usually go to to bed between 8-9pm and then read until I go to sleep at about 10.30pm

IeatPotNoodles · 07/03/2021 20:31

Around 9 is ideal, as I have to get up mon-fri at 5:15. Usually tho it's about 10pm. Am falling asleep on the sofa Saturday nights at 9pm and wake up at weekends by 6am the latest. 😅

JaquelineBeanstalk · 07/03/2021 20:34

Usually between 10-30 and 11, asleep within half an hour. Up at 6-6-30, depending on dogs! Anything after 7 is a lie in.

soughsigh · 07/03/2021 20:34

I like to get 8hrs a night, so it depends on what time I need to wake. The toddler currently wakes at 5, so I go to sleep at 9. I will be going up shortly to read my book for 20 mins before going to sleep.

I am naturally a morning person, being up later than midnight is a real struggle! Even when I was a student.

coastergirl · 07/03/2021 20:38

@GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing

Aargh. I’ve been staying up until 1-2 too but I really shouldn’t! J get so tired and find waking up in the morning so hard.

I also crave the peace of night time hours when kids are in bed, but fundamentally I think I’m a night owl and would prefer a day structured around later sleeping and later waking.

Exactly this.

meetmeinarizona · 07/03/2021 20:38

Go up to bed around 10/10.30 - stay awake reading, scrolling phone, watching something on tv until between 11.30 pm - 1 am depending how tired I am. Wake at between 7 am - 10 am depending on the day and what the plans are.

RedPandaMama · 07/03/2021 20:40

Pre-kids it was sometime between 12 and 1am, even when I was up at 5am for work... Now I'm asleep between 10.30 and 11pm and up around 6.30-7am. FT working single parent, I feel awful with any less sleep!!

shouldistop · 07/03/2021 20:40

Around 10pm. Kids in bed about 7pm so 2-3 hours is enough for me in the evenings and I value my sleep as my youngest is a baby and I'm breastfeeding.

Snugglepiggy · 07/03/2021 20:42

10/10.30 .Sometimes earlier if I've had a busier day.Read or listen to a podcast. No TV in the bedroom for years and sleep much better for it.Awake 5 /6 ish depending on wether it's summer or winter. And get up about 7.I like time to come round.

Gigia · 07/03/2021 20:42

Between 10.30-11.30pm, up at 6.30am.

lachy · 07/03/2021 20:43

I go up to bed when I feel like it. Tonight, I showered at 8, in bed by 8.30.

Anywhere between 7.00pm and 10.00pm. wake up at about 6.30. Weekends I could probably sleep until 10.00am.

I need sleep.
