Mine are:

Being exceptionally good at slicing bread (straight, even slices every time, even on squishy, unevenly shaped loaves)

Uncannily accurate at guessing the time when I haven’t looked at a clock for hours - I’m never more than a few minutes out.

Tell me the things you can do that are not that impressive!

I can scan read documents and pick out the important points without actually reading it. Can also spot a typo at the same time.

I too know the time with out looking at a clock, even if I wake up in the middle of the night during a deep sleep I can guess the time within about 30 mins without looking at the clock.

mathanxiety · 05/03/2021 20:31

Omelette and scrambled egg making.
Knowing what direction I'm going in places I've never visited before. I never get lost.
Sudoku.
Remembering phone numbers and license platess.

CuntyMcBollocks · 05/03/2021 20:31

I can fold fitted sheets perfectly every time.

CrayonInThreeBits · 05/03/2021 20:31

Days I want your job Envy I have zero experience, an English degree, and a yearning to do something which involves being a right pedant for a living — any openings? Grin

AdaFuckingShelby · 05/03/2021 20:32

Also I'm spectacular when it comes to fitting lots of camping gear in the car. I even amaze myself with what I can cram in.

CuntyMcBollocks · 05/03/2021 20:33

I'm excellent at remembering everyone's birthday and mobile/telephone numbers - even people who i haven't seen for years.

poundoflard · 05/03/2021 20:34

I too am good at map reading, from a paper map....give me a sat nav though and I haven't the foggiest where the hell I am.

I used to be awesome at waking in the night and knowing exactly what time it was til I started doing shifts work and its knackered my spidey senses.

I can make a bed /change a duvet in seconds, but that probably due to being under ridiculous pressure working in hotels .

CrayonInThreeBits · 05/03/2021 20:34

Nutella — definitely a curse sometimes. I once had to go round a waiting room reading all the notices and posters because my feeling of discomfort told me one of them had a misplaced apostrophe, but I didn't know which one.

PollyIndia · 05/03/2021 20:35

Me too Uannanana.
I can't do it in a car tho. Envious of that.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 05/03/2021 20:35

And I remember everyone's birthday.

doadeer · 05/03/2021 20:36

I have a great memory for song lyrics

Emeraldshamrock · 05/03/2021 20:37

Excellent long-term memory including date ranges & tiny details, remembering phone numbers.
Short term memory is crap.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 05/03/2021 20:38

I'm really good at wordsearches. Like a pp said, it's like they glow or stand out in a different colour

Carolina24 · 05/03/2021 20:39

I’m really good at asking Alexa how much time is left on my cooking timers when there’s less than ten seconds to go.

Orosei · 05/03/2021 20:39

I am really good at getting everything into the freezer. DH insists everything won't fit but everything DOES.

I can read really fast and take in all signs and information around me without really consciously reading. I don't actually feel this is a skill but if I'm ever anywhere new with people they ask questions which seem inane to me "ooh which way is the conference room" or "how much is the parking" or "what time does it close" etc and I don't understand how they don't know, we've walked past the sign that says the answer. DH says not everyone reads every word that they walk past.

HelenaJustina · 05/03/2021 20:39

I can make a white sauce by eye using the roux method, lumpless and perfect every time.

Shodan · 05/03/2021 20:40

I can make four pancakes at a time (four different pans) and never have a duff first one.

I can also fold a fitted sheet. Grin

Sandsnake · 05/03/2021 20:40

Clock in the head here too!

And I’m very physically strong.

BestIsWest · 05/03/2021 20:40

I am really good at converting currency in my head when on holiday. No mathematical process is involved, I just know.

bigburdd · 05/03/2021 20:40

Put a selection of jewellery on front of me and I will always choose the most expensive!
Today's example of "oh that's nice" was a ring from Boodles - a snip at £62.5k!!

ZednotZee · 05/03/2021 20:41

If you throw anything at me, literally anything, I will catch it.

My DH throws legso at me from across the room to check I haven't lost my 'powers' 🙄

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 05/03/2021 20:41

Christ these are like some ninja level skills. Folding a fitted sheet, this is impossible!!!!!

ginnybag · 05/03/2021 20:41

Also Tetris and punctuation, spelling etc. Also an astonishing memory for numbers and the like.

On the other hand, I can fall over a flat floor in flat shoes whilst stone, cold sober.

SimonJT · 05/03/2021 20:42

I always make perfect poached eggs.

My ‘body clock’ is very good, I always wake up at 5:43, my alarm is set for 5:45, I’m also very good at approximating the time during the day.

MarySanderson · 05/03/2021 20:42

I'm good at reversing trailers and finding underground water. (not at the same time)
