Drag is the Black & White minstrel-ism of today

How long before the appropriation and exploitation is recognised more fully ?

B&W minstrels were cliched, cartoonish, and “for entertainment”, as well, weren’t they.

Not sure I would compare it with black and white minstrels

I have watched ten minutes of RuPaul Drag Race (that’s enough) I don’t find it funny and find it pathetic and something sad about it it’s grotesque and desperate

But I do find some drag acts funny. Are they imitating women are they laughing at women I don’t find they are (or the ones I’ve been amused by)
