To find it odd that she felt the need to correct me

I was asked how old I was at work so I said 25 as I’m 25 in. July. Work fired then say oh you actually 24 not 25. I don’t see what difference it makes as I’m very nearly 25 so simple rounded up.

OP posts:

Does anyone remember the thread where a woman had some bizarre logic that meant she told people her kid was four when she was actually two, or some similar (large) difference? She was so annoyed that nobody could follow her weird reasoning.

Catterpillar · 18/02/2021 16:13

Are you trying to jump the vaccine queue?

RootyT00t · 18/02/2021 16:14

@Catterpillar

Are you trying to jump the vaccine queue?
Strangest post yet.

OP would give her date of birth, so no.

And last time I checked, 25 year olds didn't get preference over 24 year olds. Bore off.

SparkysMagicPiano · 18/02/2021 16:17

OP did you happen to knock your neighbours door at 8am to tell them your age?

@RootyT00t maybe lighten up a bit?

CautiousPractice · 18/02/2021 16:26

My birthday is literally less than a week away, and I'm not rounding it up or using nearly. And I'm only a couple of years older than you.

You shouldn't lie about your age, unless you are you know 60 and declaring you are still 18. Its a really bizarre thing to lie about, especially at work.

Darkbrownistheriver · 18/02/2021 16:26

My DM used to round up my age when I was a child. It used to drive me nuts because when I was 6 she’d tell people I was 7, and then they’d ask when I was going to be 8 and I had to explain I wasn’t even 7 yet .... very embarrassing for a child.

B3ttyBoop · 18/02/2021 16:26

Technically speaking, you're in your 25th year.

Hepsie · 18/02/2021 16:26

I've spent so long believing my own age-related propaganda that I have no clue how old I am unless I work it out on my fingers...

🤣

B3ttyBoop · 18/02/2021 16:29

@Hepsie 😂🤣😂 I don't have enough fingers!

Hepsie · 18/02/2021 16:34

Me neither 🤣

@HallowedGround

My birthdays on Sunday and you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be 54 until then.
😀

My birthday is in July. No way am I 44 a day sooner than I have to be...

How odd, OP. July is ages away. You're the unreasonable one here.

diagold4u · 18/02/2021 17:01

I would've corrected you too. Because your 24 not 25. You have months left, not a couple weeks til you turn 25. It's odd you rounded up

tenlittlecygnets · 18/02/2021 17:01

😂😂😂

You are 24.

This is bonkers.

This thread made me think of that mother. That was bizarre as well.
UnusuallyUsual · 18/02/2021 17:06

I'm 65 in 3 years time... can claim my pension now 🙄

Musicaltheatremum · 18/02/2021 17:07

I'm 58 in July...I'm 57 for as long as possible 😂

She might be planning a surprise gift and didn’t want you to tell everyone you were 25 already.

Does OP's username mean she has a holiday in 2023 ? Wink

Yes it was so weird, she did it with all her children. Hmm
SheCannaeTakeNoMoreCapt · 18/02/2021 17:11

She just rounds up in conversation which is perfectly normal

If you're 12 maybe.

Branleuse · 18/02/2021 17:13

24 and 3 quarters
