Was lovingly loading the dish washer this morning (it's fairly new in my life and I love it) and I wondered if my washing machine, tumble dryer and dish washer all broke at the same time, which I would hope to replace first.

I think I might be unreasonable to say the dish washer. It brings me so much joy.

You ?

Washing machine
Tumble dryer
Dishwasher

DramaAlpaca · 15/02/2021 20:25

In order of essential to me:
Washing machine
Tumble drier
Dishwasher

Gibble1 · 15/02/2021 20:27

I’m going to buck the trend here and say that my tumble drier would be the first to be replaced. However, I have a laundrette at the end of the road and an old damp house with two dogs downstairs and a cat upstairs so the washing would fester and get dirty before it got dry.

DietrichandDiMaggio · 15/02/2021 20:30

Washing machine definitely. It's easy enough to wash dishes by hand, but a real ball ache to wash anything bigger than pants and underwear by hand. If you didn't have a washing machine to spin the clothes properly it would take hours to dry things in the tumble drier, and cost a fortune.

RumJerrySailorRum · 15/02/2021 20:31

Washing Machine.

I don't have either of the others and have no desire for them either.
I don't like the film dishwashers leave on everything and I don't like the feel of clothes that have been tumble dried.

An extra fridge in my garage for booze however is An absolute must!!

cptartapp · 15/02/2021 20:44

Washing machine. Rarely use our dishwasher or tumble dryer.

harknesswitch · 15/02/2021 20:45

Sensibly the washing machine but I love my tumble dryer

IgiveupallthenamesIwantedareg0 · 15/02/2021 20:57

1- Dishwasher

  1. Dryer
  2. washing maschine
  1. We love to cook and spend lot of time in prepping, preparing etc.- at the end of a meal just to be able to put the dishes in the dishwasher is ideal. Instantly clean kitchen and every thing tip top for tomorrow
  2. have no garden, no patio no outside space to dry anything. We have a frame (clothes horse) but not good for towels, bedclothes etc.We have to put it up in the living room ot hallway - not ideal!
  3. We have a lauderette around the corner, I can give up a service wash with my preferred wash powder and then pick it up later
P.S. I have yet to find some where who will take my dirty dishes, pots, utensils etc.hence my priorities above!
PeachPiePip · 15/02/2021 20:58

Washing machine is essential

greeneyedlulu · 15/02/2021 21:02

Washing machine as I dont have the other 2 in my teeny tiny kitchen

Cherrysoup · 15/02/2021 21:20

Omg, washing machine, come on! No way would I want to have to trek to the launderette ever again. I could wash up dishes, couldn’t live without a washing machine.

Twofurrycatsagain · 15/02/2021 21:22

Dishwasher first. I detest washing up.
Washing can go to the laundrette.

Oysterbabe · 15/02/2021 21:25

Dishwasher. I have enough clothes to last me about a month at a push. Outfits might get a bit interesting towards the end of that. Still, I'd rather wear a wedding dress than wash my own plates.

DFAMA · 15/02/2021 21:32

Washing machine first definitely, I'd have an overflowing laundry basket by the second day. Dishwasher next and then tumble dryer, both are nice to have but easier to manage without

frogswimming · 15/02/2021 21:34

Washing machine. Can wash dishes by hand and use a clothes horse.

poppycat10 · 15/02/2021 21:37

Washing machine for me, then dishwasher then tumble dryer. But the washing machine is the most important by a long way. I've better things to do with my life than trek to a launderette.

Graffitiqueen · 15/02/2021 21:37

Washing machine without a doubt.

RatherLostPenguins · 15/02/2021 21:37

Washing machine is the only one of them I have now.

I don't miss the dryer or dishwasher. I can wash dishes by hand faster and so many of my clothes can't go in a dryer anyway, and I've noticed those that can are lasting so much longer without fading or shrinking. We have a heated airer instead.

Sparklehead · 15/02/2021 21:38

I’m with you, OP, and would choose the dishwasher first. We actually had the scenario recently, when building a kitchen extension. Everything in the kitchen was ripped out but our builders said they could temporarily plumb in either the washing machine or the dishwasher. We would be without the other one for about 2 months. We chose dishwasher and I don’t regret it.

fluffi · 15/02/2021 21:53

Washer-dryer (cos thats what i have now) and then dishwasher cos I can always use paper plates and ready meals more to reduce washing up for a bit. Washing and drying clothes by a hand would be a huge pain.

If I can't have a washer-dryer, then washing machine, dishwasher and dryer.

maybemu · 15/02/2021 21:53

Washing machine, as much as I love my dishwasher I couldn't wash my own clothes

MrsSugar · 15/02/2021 22:02

Washing machine
Tumble dryer
Don’t have a dish washer so happy to forget that !

RoseMartha · 15/02/2021 22:03

I dont have a tumble dryer anyway. But to me it is more of a necessity to have a washing machine than the dishwasher although I hate washing up, mainly because the draining board is smaller than average and I have to pause washing and wipe dry every few items.

jambeforeclottedcream · 15/02/2021 22:06

Washing Machine
Tumble dryer although I'd be hunting around for a good deal so I could get this replace v quickly
Dishwasher

wellahair · 15/02/2021 22:08

Washing machine I would replace immediately. I can wash dishes for a while and dry clothes but I can't handwash clothes which we go through a lot.
