Was lovingly loading the dish washer this morning (it's fairly new in my life and I love it) and I wondered if my washing machine, tumble dryer and dish washer all broke at the same time, which I would hope to replace first.

I think I might be unreasonable to say the dish washer. It brings me so much joy.

You ?

Washing machine. Tumble dryer is pointless without the washing machine, and dishwasher is nice but not essential (mine broke last week)

Mintjulia · 15/02/2021 18:01

Washing machine without a doubt. Have you ever tried hand washing sheets ! Confused

I have a washing line and an airing cupboard but no tumble drier so that doesn't bother me at all.

And washing up is not big deal.

Saywhattttttttttttt · 15/02/2021 18:01

Washing machine first, never had a dishwasher and have had periods without a tumble dryer.

If every electrical item i own broke though the very first thing to be replaced would be my hair straighteners Grin

I've now finally got a dishwasher and I love it so. However, I've had so many washers go pop that if it broke I would HAVE to get it replaced first! Even now with money to send to a laundry I panic a little at the thought! Laundry builds up fast!

janj2301 · 15/02/2021 18:03

When we moved to a house with a very small kitchen I said I MUST have a dishwasher and if there was no room for a washing machine I'd go to the launderette. We ended up without an oven so we got the washing machine in.

Holothane · 15/02/2021 18:03

Washing machine first then tumble dry in fact both together.

NeverWillIEver · 15/02/2021 18:04

I'm newish to the world of dishwashers and tumble dryers and managed YEARS without them.. but I do so love the dishwasher ❤ No arguments, no dirty crap left out in the sides. It's bliss!

I could manage without a dishwasher, and I could just about manage without a tumble dryer - but I definitely couldn't manage without a washing machine.

LindaEllen · 15/02/2021 18:05

Washing machine. You can do without the other two.

BiteyShark · 15/02/2021 18:05

Washing machine.

Try hand washing bedding and clothes in a bath and then trying to get them dry enough to hang over a clothes horse at this time of the year. I think I would cry.

My dishwasher on the other hand would be a minor inconvenience.

Don't have a tumble dryer and when my previous washer did both I never used the thing to dry clothes because it was expensive to dry something and my house is one of those that if you spin the clothes well and hang them over a clothes horse they are dry the next day I don't get any condensation inside.

How do you cook !!

Definitely the washing machine. I don't have a dishwasher or a tumble dryer so that tells me if I had all 3, they're the two I could live without.

AlwaysLatte · 15/02/2021 18:09

In real life, all of them! But if I had to make a choice, the washing machine.

B33Fr33 · 15/02/2021 18:10

My washing machine is currently broken. Definitely the one I need. I don't have a tumble dryer.

janj2301 · 15/02/2021 18:11

I have a hob and a combi microwave.

Snowpatrolling · 15/02/2021 18:11

I actually had this at the beginning of the first lockdown!
All 3 bloody went within 2 weeks of each other!
On reduced hours, no savings and in a pickle!
The washing machine got replaced as a matter of urgency as I needed to wash my uniform on hot wash every day.
Dishwasher 2nd a few months later then just before Xmas finally got my tumble repaired!!

LST · 15/02/2021 18:11

Washing machine
Tumbke dryer though not really urgently
Haven't got a dishwasher anyway

BikeRunSki · 15/02/2021 18:13

Washing machine
Dishwasher
Tumble dryer

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 15/02/2021 18:16

Washing machine. Don’t have a dryer and did try a dishwasher once but wasn’t fussed when it broke. Found it quicker to wash by hand than rinse, load and unload.

thenightsky · 15/02/2021 18:16

Washing machine.

I'd rather wash pots and pans then king size duvet covers, massive bath towels etc.

FlowEr262 · 15/02/2021 18:18

Washing machine.

Then would depend on season, autumn/winter would be tumble dryer next. As I’d struggle to get all sports kits/running stuff/uniforms etc dry.

In summer/spring would be dishwasher first and then save for tumble dryer before autumn came.

strawberriesatmypicnic · 15/02/2021 18:18

Washing machine

Frozenintime · 15/02/2021 18:21

100 the washing machine

longtompot · 15/02/2021 18:21

Washing machine without a doubt. I can hand wash dishes, though I hate it, and can use airers for the washed clothes to dry instead of a tumble drier. That would be the second one I'd replace though.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 15/02/2021 18:23

Washing machine then dishwasher although tbh I'd probably buy cheaper to get both, which I'm sure is false economy but when my dishwasher broke I didn't have the money to fix it and didn't realise how much not having it was impacting.me til I got a new one 18 months later...
