Was lovingly loading the dish washer this morning (it's fairly new in my life and I love it) and I wondered if my washing machine, tumble dryer and dish washer all broke at the same time, which I would hope to replace first.

I think I might be unreasonable to say the dish washer. It brings me so much joy.

You ?

Having lived without each for periods of time, washing machine hands down. Washing clothes by hand is horrific. Taking clothes to the laundrette is an expensive time consuming nightmare. I'd rather not have to chose though Grin

Coasterfan · 15/02/2021 18:28

Out of those three appliances we only have a washer so he would win. No room for a dishwasher or tumble dryer and never had either so I don’t miss them 😀

FelicityPike · 15/02/2021 18:29

Washing machine.
Line dry your clothes (or clothes horse or radiator) and hand wash your dishes.

FelicityPike · 15/02/2021 18:29

Never had nor want a dishwasher.

Chunkymenrock · 15/02/2021 18:31

Washing machine for sure!

notalwaysalondoner · 15/02/2021 18:33

Washing machine - ain't got no time to be going to the laundrette for hours every week. And outside of major cities it's quite hard to find laundrettes.

Then probably dishwasher followed by tumble dryer, as the amount of extra labour saved by a dishwasher is greater.

Annabell80 · 15/02/2021 19:17

I don't have a tumble dryer but out of dishwasher and washing machine I'd replace the washing machine. I couldn't cope without a washing machine.
There are 5 of us and it seems to be on almost all the time.

PussyCatInChristmasStockings · 15/02/2021 19:21

1 Washing Machine
2 Tumble Dryer
3 Washing up bowl, marigolds and massive bottle of fairy Grin

greenlynx · 15/02/2021 19:31

Washing machine, of course.
I don’t even have tumble dryer and dishwasher. I would love to have them but atm it’s not possible. However washing machine will always go first in this house.

lastqueenofscotland · 15/02/2021 19:35

Washing machine without a doubt

Cocopogo · 15/02/2021 19:37

I don’t even have a tumble dryer. Am I missing something magical? Surely you can only really dry bedding and towels, everything else just shrinks

SciFiScream · 15/02/2021 19:42

DISHWASHER a millions times over

We have a local service that will collect, wash, dry, fold and return your laundry.

There's no one who does that with dishes.

Tiny kitchen, dishwasher helps keep it clean. Dishwasher get dishes cleaner than washing by hand and with less energy.

Washing machine next.

Don't own a tumble dryer.

SpudsandGravy · 15/02/2021 19:44

Washing machine as that's the only one I couldn't fairly easily manage without (I don't have a tumble drier).

Ninkanink · 15/02/2021 19:45

The only thing i really do miss about having a dryer is that we can’t make our towels lovely and fluffy. It’s only me and DH now, but when my children were school age the dryer was invaluable and made a huge difference to my quality of life.

AnnaSW1 · 15/02/2021 19:45

Washing machine!

sunshineandshowers40 · 15/02/2021 19:46

Washing machine first. I think next would be the dishwasher and then the tumble dryer but it would possibly depend on the time of year!

Cowmilk · 15/02/2021 19:47

Washing machine... then tumble dryer. I have never bought a dishwasher. There was one at dm house when I lived there and never saw a need for it.

cariadlet · 15/02/2021 19:49

I've never had a dishwasher or tumble dryer but would really miss my washing machine if it broke. I'd hate to go back to taking all my washing down to the laundrette.

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 15/02/2021 19:56

I only have a washing machine out of that list.

I'd love a dishwasher (no space, sadly)

Bit meh about a tumbledryer

So I'd replace in that order

Maybemay123 · 15/02/2021 20:04
  1. Washing machine,
  2. Tumble dryer,
  3. Dishwasher.
Infact my dishwasher broke in the summer and I haven't missed it, so won't be replacing it.
ktp100 · 15/02/2021 20:05

Fairlry obvious one, for me - I do not want to hand wash clothes but it is possible to dry them on radiators & to wash pots.

EachBleachBlairTrump · 15/02/2021 20:07

Washing machine, them tumble dryer, then dishwasher, even though I love the latter, it's easier to wash crockery than clothes by hand. If it was mid summer and I could replace the dryer before winter, the dishwasher might edge into second place

ElizaLaLa · 15/02/2021 20:08

Washing machine
Dishwasher
Tumble drier

Because washing clothes by hand is a pita but washing dishes is not so bad.

RedcurrantPuff · 15/02/2021 20:10

See I know it should be the washing machine but launderettes exist so...

multivac · 15/02/2021 20:11

Washing machine (it's the only one of the three we have in any case!)
