Mack Beggs is female... A transman!

IamBarbaraofKent · 15/02/2021 18:21

@Neron

I ask again. What male who identifies as a women has been told they cannot participate in the male category for sport?

I too, would love to know the answer to this question!!
Mack Beggs

"Mack Beggs is an American high school wrestler from Euless, Texas. Beggs is a trans man, meaning he was assigned female at birth. State athletic rules only allowed him to compete in the league for his assigned sex."

So Mack is a woman who identifies as a male, the opposite of what the quoted question is about.

Neron · 15/02/2021 18:23

So.... they CAN compete? There is a division for them to compete in?
The absolute is still either males or females, not mixed. It means no weight restriction. So me, at 58kg could fight someone 100kg +.

In BJJ we are grouped by man/woman, belt and age. If you have no other woman in your category, you can do the absolute for a last chance medal or fight.

And again, you obviously think sex can be changed and males can become 'females'. By what means?
I don't actually. I have used incorrect words. Men/women. I shouldn't have used male/female.

Oh dear! Facial feminisation band boobs yes. But, as seems to need repeating regularly, 95+% of transwomen retain their penis.
Poor wording from me. I forgot to include hormone therapy. I realise not everyone has the reassignment surgery.

I can't just decide to enter the men's division because I feel like it on that particular day.

women who express concern about this for a wide variety of reasons are vilified and issued with death and rape threats
Totally see that, we have a lot of issues in my sport. You can't be seen to object, because then you are transphobic.

Mack Beggs is a female!
Neron · 15/02/2021 18:26

Sorry - reading in-between jobs and haven't read properly! I was wrong with Mack. I read woman not allowed to compete against men

WoolieLiberal · 15/02/2021 18:35

Why don’t we have new sporting categories so that trans women can only only fight or compete against trans women and trans men can only compete against trans men?

Surely that would be fair?

Winesalot · 15/02/2021 18:38

WoolieLiberal

It would. But I think numbers are an issue.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/02/2021 19:00

@MissLucyEyelesbarrow

* But it's acceptable for women to be forced to be at risk to validate men's gender identities?*

Where did I say that? That's a total non-sequitur and the opposite of my clearly stated views on this thread.

You're attributing views to me that are the complete opposite of the ones I've actually expressedConfused

Then I misread your posts and I apologise.
SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/02/2021 19:13

And what the fuck does living as a woman mean????

About as much as "feeling like a woman"

Please don't use the word 'cs' to describe Women, @Smallgoon, it's completely unnecessary and wrong*

THIS ^

There are women.

There are transwomen (who are men)

There are transmen (who are women)

There is no "cis" - a term adopted to give a veneer of scientific validity to the whole sorry fallacy.

andyoldlabour · 15/02/2021 19:13

Winesalot

"It would. But I think numbers are an issue."

I think it is about validation as well, they feel some sense of entitlement to compete in the women's category. I also think there is a big slice of misogyny attached as well.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/02/2021 19:14

@WoolieLiberal

It would - but TRAs don't want it, any more than they want toilet facilities for transpersons.

They want to be acknowledged as real women. It's not fairness they are after. It's validation, power and control.

AnnaFiveTowns · 15/02/2021 19:54

If this continues there will be no women's sport anymore.

rawalpindithelabrador · 15/02/2021 20:00

@AnnaFiveTowns

If this continues there will be no women's sport anymore.
I think the TRAs still won't be happy about that because they won't have women to dominate, control, injure (or worse) or use to validate themselves.
MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 15/02/2021 20:08

Can anyone spot the two participants in this race who were born male?

I'm guessing the one in the middle, simply because they're the focus of the picture but there are no obvious physical signs that any of them were "born male"

Hmm
Winesalot · 15/02/2021 20:30

If you can’t tell looking at the build, you have a very interesting expectation of a female’s physique.

picklemewalnuts · 15/02/2021 20:39

It's pretty clear, to be fair. Stills make it harder, though. Once there's movement, it's even easier to spot.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 15/02/2021 20:45

Maybe this will help.

Why "born male" ?

Why the ""?

Winesalot · 15/02/2021 20:48

Why "born male" ?

Yes. Why not ‘gone through a male puberty’?

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 15/02/2021 20:50

Don't try to stop @DedlyMedally

Just like @Smallgoon, he or she is doing a fabulous job of showing everyone reading this thread how many lies you have to tell yourself to support TW competing against women. And that, however much self-deception you're prepared to stomach, it will never change reality.

Winesalot · 15/02/2021 20:52

This is true. MissL

rawalpindithelabrador · 15/02/2021 20:53

Not just born male, are male. You cannot change your biological sex.

Nearlythere1 · 15/02/2021 20:54

FYI - They did not have an informed choice to fight him. He didnt tell anybody he was trans. They didnt know.
