To feel somewhat upset with this Valentine's card from my husband?

My husband is a typical last-minute card and present-buyer, but this really takes the biscuit. His excuses - it was the last one left in Tesco Express, Asda was too busy and he had forgotten his glasses. Excuse for not buying one earlier - he is recovering from his Covid jab ( he had it on Thursday). Excuse for not buying one before then - none.

Please say you haven't kicked off it's hilarious .

TBF I might of been tempted to cut it off and make it a heart shape if I was him.

And for his birthday/Christmas

It's brilliant! And you got choccies.

I don't quite understand the British cards printed with my wife, husband, lover, fiance, sister, grandson etc. etc. Surely you know what your relationship is with the person you are buying for?

But then I don't get Valentine's Day either - commercial crap.

Mrsmadevans · 14/02/2021 15:13

It is funny OP bless him, l didn't even get one!

Adancewithdragons · 14/02/2021 15:15

I actually quite like the card and it made me laugh. In years to come it will be a good memory to laugh about

Dickorydockwhatthe · 14/02/2021 15:23

Does he show you he loves you other ways. Valentines is a load of commercial hype and cards are overly priced don't put too much emphasis on it he has tried I guess. I would just call him an idiot and tell him he can make it up to me.

1forAll74 · 14/02/2021 15:23

Very funny,, at least it has a heart shape, and some red colour on the card. !

Bubblegum3 · 14/02/2021 15:25

I got my husband a partner card for his birthday cos I liked the design the best.

Frenchdressing · 14/02/2021 15:26

That’s funny to me. People get so invested in this stuff. Sorry but Valentines Day is a nonsense.

AnitaB888 · 14/02/2021 15:26

Well, it could have been a lot worse.

A divorced friend of mine got a card from her BF that said on the front 'Happy Valentines Day to a sweet young virgin'. (She has 3 kids)

Inside it said 'Whoops sorry, I got the wrong card'.

Now that went down a treat - not.

DrinkSnackRepeat · 14/02/2021 15:34

LOL. Is he insinuating that you are a bit manly?

crystalpaula · 14/02/2021 15:35

Nah he could have got you a better card.

Ferrylights · 14/02/2021 15:51

It's fine, he bothered, there are bigger things in life to worry about.
You don't need a day in the year to be told you are loved - im sure he does that the other 364 days

ZZGirl · 14/02/2021 16:03

He got you a card, that's thought. Sure it's not perfect but it's the thought that counts.
Isn't it just going to end up being recycled anyway? Or do you keep every single card?

He should have made more of an effort.
