To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

OP posts:
CookEatRepeat · 07/02/2021 00:53

🤮 I couldn’t not. I always put the lid down too. I find the concept of not doing either abhorrent.

CounsellorTroi · 07/02/2021 00:56

There are some seriously minging people on this thread.

0gfhty · 07/02/2021 00:57

YANBU and I don't flush for wees because I was always taught that it is a waste of clean water. Also drip dry. Also see is sterile and no one is in the house except people who are so close to me, a bit of microscopic wee wouldn't make a difference. People are so uptight about this and then do filthy things like bags on public toilet floors or sponges and dishcloths used for days..

0gfhty · 07/02/2021 00:58

Yes I do infact wash my hands before I go out

ineedaholidaynow · 07/02/2021 01:06

@0gfhty do you flush if you use someone else's toilet? Also it has been established on here that wee is not sterile.

@MaxNormal we also have a dog, so if we are eating on a hike we need to clean hands after clearing up after the dog.

GADDay · 07/02/2021 01:07

@MaxNormal

Oh don't be silly. Me not minding eating my own lunch on a hill in the middle of nowhere after a quick wee has given exactly zero people covid or anything else at all.
Can't you see that it is a collective mindset?

If this thread is even a marginally accurate representation. 50% don't give a fuck about hand hygiene.

Wash your hands FFS!

Yellowfish2020 · 07/02/2021 01:11

@BohemianDream

Well I suppose none of you give blowjobs either unless the penis beaker is within close reach.
Ahhahahahaha. Yesssssssss!!
GADDay · 07/02/2021 01:13

Curious about the non washers.

Do you teach your children that hand hygiene follows a flowchart and is optional in certain circumstances...

Home pees - ah fuck it just forget it
Out of home pees - probably a good idea - but don't worry if you are out walking or in a remote area?

Mind blown 🤯

Embarrasedaf · 07/02/2021 01:15

I do lol and I would hope everyone in my house does!

My hand wash is fabulous, any excuse to use it

0gfhty · 07/02/2021 02:02

Yes when in other houses and when other people are in our house. And when there's a lot of wee. I have to read up about wee germs thanks for the heads up, I haven't read the whole thread. The western world is very wasteful with their clean water

Yeah I do teach them that sometimes it's not important
edwinbear · 07/02/2021 02:19

In public loos DC have been taught it’s way more hygienic to have a quick wee and go, than touch the filthy taps/soap dispensers in (say) Lewisham train station’s toilets. We wash our hands when we get home.

Embarrasedaf · 07/02/2021 02:19

I always wondered why the government had to constantly drill in the importance of “hand hygiene” throughout the pandemic. You wouldn’t have thought the general public needed to be reminded to carry out such basic hygiene, especially with the risk of COVID-19. This thread has been a real eye opener🥴 very trampy behaviour

0gfhty · 07/02/2021 02:20

I'm pretty amazed at the amount of people who are so uptight they can't go for a wee in their own homes without washing hands! Go on I dare you! Next time drip dry and run!

0gfhty · 07/02/2021 02:27

I think the latest science on covid 19 is that it is not easily transmitted by fomites. The risk of transmission this way has been exaggerated. But yes obviously you should wash your hands when in contact with other people

Embarrasedaf · 07/02/2021 02:28

@edwinbear disgusting, what a poor example you’re setting for your children. No wonder we’re in the mess we are now.

Presumably you’re getting a train home, so you’re really teaching them that’s it’s okay to touch high contact points such as lift buttons, escalator rails, train standing support poles, train door buttons etc after using the toilet without washing their hands? Makes touch their genitals whilst urinating, females wipe, so their hands are dirty.

Piss poor parenting. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

edwinbear · 07/02/2021 02:28

And my view, is that in my own home, with my family, who I kiss, touch and have sex with, nobody is going to die from a microscopic wee germ. They’re really not. Obviously I wash my hands before I cook, after a poo, after cleaning up DC’s bodily functions, but a quick wee?! This is probably why my DC have not had one single day off school for sickness ever, they have immune systems of iron.

Weenurse · 07/02/2021 02:31

Sorry, hand wash every time is a minimum standard in my home.

edwinbear · 07/02/2021 02:32

@Embarrasedaf don’t know about your DC, but mine have been taught how to toilet without pissing all over themselves Hmm

edwinbear · 07/02/2021 02:40

Also hope the hand washers are using bars of soap rather than plastic bottles Angry

Embarrasedaf · 07/02/2021 02:54

@edwinbear that’s hard to believe considering you confidently teach them not to wash their hands after using a public station toilet. Classy

I wouldn’t put it past them considering how low your standards are. I mean, you don’t think a guy should wash his hands after touching his genitals whilst out and about? Likewise, presumably you taught your daughter not to wipe if you know her hands are apparently clean without her washing them?

No point whining about train stations being unhygienic when you’re the cause of the problem. At least have the decency to drive instead.

LaBellina · 07/02/2021 02:59

I do and so does DH. We also wash our hands with water and soap after changing DS’s nappy even if it’s during the middle of the night.

edwinbear · 07/02/2021 03:04

@Embarrasedaf hahaha no, I don’t think the skin covering a man’s genitals contains any more germs than the skin on his ears. They’re both on scholarships at private school so standards are pretty high, both in my house and at their rather fabulous school. They’ll do just fine in life thanks Grin

frenchfancy81 · 07/02/2021 03:05

I don't...

eaglejulesk · 07/02/2021 04:49

I really hope some of you are never caught up in a natural disaster when, shock horror - there may not be water to wash your hands with!! (and no flushing toilet either).
