Currently on calorie counting so I've been parted with my favourite Prosecco since the 2 Jan.

I've been drinking gin instead as my second favourite tipple of choice. Currently I'm liking Hendrick's but I get bored.

Should I stick, or twist?

My favourites are Brockmans, Salcombe, Fifty Pounds, Whitley Neill Blood Orange and Tanqueray No. Ten. Definitely try a few others, gins can be very different!

Love Tanqueray, will have a look at the others you've said

My BIL bought me a bottle of Tarquin's gin for Christmas. I'm normally a Hendricks drinker, but really like this one too.

I've got a bottle of Opihr too but it's an acquired taste.... I have to be in the mood for it.

Hendricks is a bit mild for me (although it's my favourite bottle!), I much prefer Tanquerey number 10 or just Gordons.
Biggest disappointment was the Botanist, I wanted to love it as I've been to the factory site a few times but it's just boring.

PointyMcguire · 28/01/2021 20:02

Brockmans, Death’s door and Cotswolds are my go to gins.

My husband recommends Bombay Sapphire. He also says to buy a good tonic water, something like Fevertree.

The Botantist
Gin Mare
Tarquin's
Ophir
Monkey 47

Tanqueray Rangpur (lime) or Sevilla (orange) are my favourites (after Hendricks)

mrsmalcolmreynolds · 28/01/2021 20:07

I got a bottle of Mermaid Gin for Christmas and really like it. V unusual and pretty bottle too.

Malbecfan · 28/01/2021 20:07

Plymouth is nice, so is Edinburgh and Sipsmiths. I really like Tesco Finest too, but Lidl isn't bad.

Can't stand Bombay Sapphire and Gordon's is only for emergencies.

cardibach · 28/01/2021 20:08

@FraughtwithGin knows of what she speaks.
I also like That Boutiqe-y Gin Company’s Moonshot Gin which sounds like it should be gimmicky (botanicals have been in low orbit) but is lovely.

Blogdog · 28/01/2021 20:08

I was given a bottle of Silent Pool gin for Christmas. It was empty by New Year! Really lovely to drink and the bottle is beautifully designed.

cardibach · 28/01/2021 20:09

Oh, and Tanqueray Ranjpur Lime

MinnieMountain · 28/01/2021 20:09

Tanqueray 10. I used to be a Bombay Sapphire fan but Tanqueray 10 is smoother.

Rupertbeartrousers · 28/01/2021 20:09

Brecon welsh gin is nice and not expensive

HallowedGround · 28/01/2021 20:09

I have a bottle of Blackwater gin infused with blackberries and its delicious. I mix with soda water instead of tonic.

dylanthedragon · 28/01/2021 20:09

I like Rock Rose gin

PurpleFlower1983 · 28/01/2021 20:09

Gin de la Madame is amazing. I tried it at a tasting a few years ago and bought one. It was quite expensive then but you can get one around £40 a bottle now.

HallowedGround · 28/01/2021 20:10

I'm also partial to monkey 47 with lime.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 28/01/2021 20:11

I drink Copper House which is made by Adnams brewery. It's absolutely gorgeous. They do a raspberry version (lush) and a vodka/gin blend (rank). Tesco used to sell it but can't seem to get it there anymore. We bulk buy so we don't run out!
