Currently on calorie counting so I've been parted with my favourite Prosecco since the 2 Jan.

I've been drinking gin instead as my second favourite tipple of choice. Currently I'm liking Hendrick's but I get bored.

Should I stick, or twist?

Sorry don’t know how to reply to certain posts 🤷‍♀️You can buy bottle lights the have a cork shaped battery pack to keep it neat

Glittertwins · 28/01/2021 20:21

And Da Mihle Seaweed Gin. Sounds weird, really good

parisbynight · 28/01/2021 20:21

We're lucky to have some really good local Gins in Norfolk. Bit more expensive than the mainstream/supermarket brands but taste way better! My current favourite is Gyre & Gimble coastal - Callooh Callay. They do a London Dry too which is really nice especially if you like orangey flavours (like the Tanqueray Sevilla). There's a cherry one too that friends have raved about but not to my taste.

Isle of Harris gin.

micc · 28/01/2021 20:22

I love the one on lidl, Fintons I think. That's the best normal gin for a really good price imo.
Conker gin is unreal but very pricey.
My favourite flavoured gin is Whitley Neil rhubarb and ginger! Extra boujie points with elderflower tonic! My mouth is watering!

Thenthatsthatthen · 28/01/2021 20:22

Caorunn usually but I was brought a bottle of chase marmalade gin for Christmas and I love it much more than I expected to. If it wasn’t double the price I’d buying that instead of caorunn from now on

LashesZ · 28/01/2021 20:24

Bloom - I'm not in to a "heavy" gin

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 28/01/2021 20:24

Plymouth is my long-term favourite, but I do play the field... I'm currently keen on Tarquin's and Aber Falls. Lone Wolf is fabulous, but spendy.

Aldi's 'Harrison' is particularly good if you like a cucumber flavour.

Bombay Sapphire is too watery for me, I'm afraid

I love gin. Hate this. Really wanted to like it as I used to live just down the road from the distillery but nope. Is grim.
Sunsun21 · 28/01/2021 20:27

Mother’s Ruin 😉

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 28/01/2021 20:27

Monkey 47 is my favourite. I also like Thomas Dakin but if you like a sweeter drink it might not be for you, it's quite peppery and savoury if that makes sense?

iamme21 · 28/01/2021 20:28

Rascal gin, small batch, gorgeous

PointeShoesandTutus · 28/01/2021 20:29

Gin Mare
Salcombe gin
Ludlow gin
Norfolk Gin
Theodore Pictish gin
Slingsby gin
La Distilleries de Monaco (the most stunning bottle too!)

We did Craft Gin club for a couple of years, it helped hone what we liked and we found a few treasures.

It also taught us that if I like a gin, my husband won’t and vice versa. Both love gin, very different tastes.

cardibach · 28/01/2021 20:29

OK, I’ve held back from this because it’s majorly outing, but have a look at In The Welsh Wind’s signature gin. Bloody amazing. The distiller is my niece

You can also make your own gin online.

Bugger. Fucked out the link with a typo.

Ginfordinner · 28/01/2021 20:30

I like my gin to taste of gin, not orange or lemon or cardamon or insert another flavour here.

I have done a few blind gin tastings over the years and my favourite gin has always ended up being Gordons. I also like Hendriks, Bombay Sapphire and Tanqueray. I have a bottle of York gin that I am looking forward to starting. It tasted really nice in the shop

For me, gin has to have the pronunced juniper taste. After all that is where gin gets its name from. And Fevertree Refreshingly Light tonic water is my favourite tonic water to go with it, although Mediterranean tonic water is almost as nice.

cardibach · 28/01/2021 20:30

Bloody hell. Why isn’t it a link this time?

Mermaid Gin.

I used to work with the owner's dad. Lovely family, lovely gin.

To ask what your favourite gin is?
Moutarde · 28/01/2021 20:30

Rock rose navy strength. Superb.

Make sure you're sat down if you like a large one.

cardibach · 28/01/2021 20:31

It’s personal taste I guess, but I find Gordon’s really grim @Ginfordinner
Just chemically. I also like juniper forward gin.

Oysterbabe · 28/01/2021 20:32

I mostly drink Sipsmith.

loulou2012 · 28/01/2021 20:33

I've only recently discovered how much I like gin, and Ealing Gin goes down a treat
