To ask what your favourite gin is?

Currently on calorie counting so I've been parted with my favourite Prosecco since the 2 Jan.

I've been drinking gin instead as my second favourite tipple of choice. Currently I'm liking Hendrick's but I get bored.

Should I stick, or twist?

Ludlow spiced. It's beautiful!

Goosnargh Gin is lovely, and seasonal depending on what botanicals they’ve used.

PurpleSproutingSomething · 28/01/2021 21:51

I would really recommend the Ginventory app. It's great for pairing gins and tonics and suggestions of garnishes.
Ginzu gin tastes very different with a slice of apple, rather than a slice of lemon, or nothing.
You can also rate them, and add them to your cabinet. Handy if you're a gin collector Grin

Sarcobaleno · 28/01/2021 21:55

Tanquery for normal.

Harris Gin for special, and such a pretty bottle.

katiegoestoaldi · 28/01/2021 21:57

I really love Bloom London Dry Gin with some Fevertree tonic water

Sarcobaleno · 28/01/2021 21:57

Also, I love Ophir. Gin and Bombay mix in one mouthful, what's not to like.

Throughhistory · 28/01/2021 22:02

Brockmans (my favourite probably)
Monkey 47
Silent pool
Ellis and Long
Plymouth
Mermaid
Portobello Road
Lidl Hortus is surprisingly good (the blue label and the citrus garden green label)

And the current favourite: Hotspur, it's fantastic.

FreakinFrankNFurter · 28/01/2021 22:03

@Summer15coming

Mermaid Gin.

I used to work with the owner's dad. Lovely family, lovely gin.

I want to buy that gin just for the beautiful bottle!

I’m looking forward to the arrival of Spring as I seem to go off gin and tonic at home in the winter. I still enjoy it when out so obviously have drunk loads this winter Hmm

I think I will have to try a couple off your list as we seem to have similar tastes.

I love Brockmans too. Enjoy Monkey 47 and also agree the Lidl Hortus is surprisingly good, it’s quite herby which is nice with lemon

FrostyChocolateMilkshake · 28/01/2021 22:07

Bathtub Gin. The bottle is gorgeous too, I kept mine and use it as a vase

ginislife · 28/01/2021 22:07

Shortcross gin with fevertree and a slice of Seville orange

Biscoffaddict · 28/01/2021 22:13

Bombay Sapphire is still my favourite, though I also really like Tanqueray and Hendricks.

tonicwaterparty · 28/01/2021 22:15

They all taste the same - of tears and cheap perfume.

Dr J's

Twillow · 28/01/2021 22:28

I like Opihr - not curry to me but warm exotic oriental spices.
A lot of the Lone Wolf ones from an Advent calendar have gone down well.
Brockmans has been recommended to me, haven't tried it yet. Will look out for the Monkey 47 one too after this thread. Monkey Shoulder whisky is lovely, don't know if they're related?
For basics, I'd choose Bombay Saphire over Gordons.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 28/01/2021 22:37

Been enjoying Aviation gin we got at Christmas. Loving the look of the mermaid gin bottle!
