To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

I can't think of any, tbh. I mean, the JFK official story seems to have gaping holes in it, but nothing anyone has presented as an alternative convinces me either!

My dad absolutely believes that Jim Morrison's death was faked, which is odd for the sort of cynical man he is. But he is adamant.

It is a clear conspiracy that MN threads only allow 1000 messages. This one is close to exposing the underlying truths about the lizard overlords and their evil ways. But will soon be locked and then the truth will be lost for ever

On Diana - there was a long delay before her death was announced/known. Even Robin Cook's first statement said that she was injured. You can see from the coverage on this link that while they were talking about her being injured the authorities in France were already moving the car and the likes, showing it was a good time later.

It was a good few hours after the accident, and a good chunk of time after it was known she had been involved.

Apologies, I was wrong about the City of London actually being a country - but I basically stand by the rest.

everyone needs to read the book written by the police officer who got sacked when he wanted to make the parents suspects.

Lol you mean the cop who messed the case up in the first place, and then went with the same hairbrained fridge idea he'd already accused the parents of in a previous case?

Diana faked her own death so that she could pursue her dream of working in light entertainment. She has had plastic surgery and can now been seen fronting Mrs Browns Boys on prime time BBC1

Anyone interested in Brittany Murphy should listen to the Sinisterhood podcast episode on her. They lay out the facts and theories really well.

I'm not into any conspiracy theories really, usually the simple explanation is correct! (Although Jeffrey Epstein suicide is deeply suspicious).

Following the Federal Reserve Act in 1913 (shortly after the tragic deaths on the Titanic of a few powerful people lobbying against it), the Fed was established as a private company, which then lends money to the government at a rate of interest, for the government to put into circulation. The government doesn't have the power to invent money in its own right - it must borrow it from the banks. People scratch their heads at why PFIs even exist, but if you understand the crazy way in which it works, the government is actually just co-investing and sharing the risk - and saving themselves some interest.

The Federal Reserve Bank actively manages the money supply by buying and selling treasury bonds. They don't have to "borrow" money from anyone. They create or eliminate it as one of the monetary tools they have to manage the US economy.

Understanding How the Federal Reserve Creates Money

It is not, and never has been a private company. It is an agency of the Federal government, and has been since 1913 when it was created.

Who owns the Federal Reserve?

The Federal Reserve System is not "owned" by anyone. The Federal Reserve was created in 1913 by the Federal Reserve Act to serve as the nation's central bank. The Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., is an agency of the federal government and reports to and is directly accountable to the Congress.

The Federal Reserve derives its authority from the Congress, which created the System in 1913 with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act. This central banking "system" has three important features: (1) a central governing board—the Federal Reserve Board of Governors; (2) a decentralized operating structure of 12 Federal Reserve Banks; and (3) a blend of public and private characteristics.

I don't believe any specific conspiracy theories (although I'm a practising Catholic, so I belive a lot of stuff the majority of people in this country don't), but I caught up with an American friend recently after several years of just swapping the occasional Happy Christmas/Easter messages and he's gone full on loony QAnon, I had no idea what to say to most of the conversation. He genuinely thinks Trump won the US election and was cheated out of it, various large institutions are run by a secret cabal of paedophiles and gay men, he's even gone creationist and decided the dinosaurs and all are made up. Before I spoke to him I thought the QAnon people were, to dramatically over-stereotype, basically some ill-educated yokels from backwater America. But this guy is university educated, has lived in several different countries and cultures, used to be fairly normal ... it blows my mind that he can buy into all this.

“ This autonomous state within our borders is in a position to launder the ill-gotten cash of oligarchs, kleptocrats, gangsters and drug barons. ”
This is bollocks. I work in the city, in financial
Crime prevention. It still falls under the rules of the U.K., and has to meet the legal requirements. The only special thing re: money laundering etc is that financial crimes are often referred from other constabularies in the U.K. to the city of London police, simply because they have the expertise and experience. If you had someone involved in complex fraud arrested in Gwent, the case would be referred to city of London to investigate and prosecute. Nothing sinister

One think has some truth to it is some of the top Nazi scientists were given new identities and jobs in the US to work the government on the US space programmes.

After watching some of the documentaries on how authorities frame people, lie and cover up all sorts of dodgy shit, no conspiracy theory would really shock me anymore.

Sorry WeBuilt - that was actually me more shouting at George monbiot than you. And on his thing about the crown dependencies - they’re pissed with the U.K. right now. One of the best ways to avoid money laundering is to require companies to disclose who their beneficial owners are. In 2016, David Cameron promised that the U.K. and crown dependencies would start dojng this. The U.K. brought in the requirement and the crown dependencies had to bring it in by 2020, only the complaint is that some of them have very few registered companies; and there are already information sharing agreements between the governments so why bring in the administrative burden

Princess Diana was murdered; Lee Harvey Oswald wasn't responsible for JFK's death; 9/11 was an inside job. Jeffrey Epstein likely did not kill himself and neither did Dr David Kelly.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to assume that the US (and other Allies) looked the other way while scientists left Germany after the war, with senior Nazis hidden amongst them. They knew the other option was that they would defect to the Soviet Union and take all their knowledge with them.

As far as Diana went ,so many worries about her .She was the first person to divorce in the Royal Family. And her interview with Martin Bashir showed the Royals in a poor light. She also recalled being followed by Govt forces (Although she may have just been paranoid of course) Pictures of her and Dodi Fayed were embarassing for the Royals as well .She was also rumoured to be pregnant by him ,although her great friend Rosa Monkton denied this,as they were very close .

First person to divorce in the Royal family ? Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew - all before Diana and Charles
