To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

But, in the same breath, every thing we have ever been taught about earth is that it is round. But it is second hand information. And at the moment I am learning that a lot, maybe too much, of what we are being taught, is second hand information

What does that even mean? You've seen actual pictures of the Earth, in what sense is that "second hand information"?
Everything you are taught is 2nd hand information, anything you haven't directly experienced yourself is. Are you actually dismissing every single thing you're told but that you have not directly experienced?

Hammonds · 28/01/2021 13:32

Or Mistress am I just looking at the roof of our dome and it’s painted on - a la The True Man show...

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 28/01/2021 13:32

This one is officially documented as being absolutely true:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century

It's quite something when you look at just how many off-the-wall, often incendiary (dare I say evil) suggestions are made and (as has been mentioned) drills held - and then they just happen to become reality.

What would have happened if Diana had put her seatbelt on though? Would they have just kept trying to bump her off? Seems like a very unreliable form of assassination, with William set to be King one day couldn't he have found out the truth?

Prince Charles is Harry's father.

The Queen's "friend" Lord Porchester looks a lot like Prince Andrew.

Martin and Shirlie Kemp's daughter looks a lot like Andrew Ridgeley.

MI5 have extensive files on Alan Farthing, Jill Dando's fiancé.

I think Meghan borrowed a trick from Beyoncé and would "enhance" her bump according to the occasion. They both seemed to go up and down in size quite regularly, both have been filmed with fake bump collapsing inwards as they bend or sit down.

Why would either Kate or Meghan use surrogates and lie about it? I seem to remember Sophie Wessex talking about IVF and no one was bothered.

Marilyn Monroe died of an accidental overdose.

I would love to know the truth about poor George Michael's death, there is definitely a period of time not accounted for and why would his "boyfriend" choose to sleep in the car parked outside the house on a freezing Christmas Eve night?

Burke Ramsay did not kill his sister. He was 9 years old and sent to stay with friends immediately after. Why would the parents do that if he'd just committed murder? He never said a word to psychiatrists or police. He might be a bit odd but he's not a criminal mastermind.

My favourite is that Katy Perry is really JonBenet, wouldn't that be wonderful.

Beyoncé was never pregnant with Blue Ivy.

The ‘bump’ folded on tv!!

WesternWastrel · 28/01/2021 13:36

The term "conspiracy theory " was quoted in CIA document 1035-960 and recommended to the MSM as a way to discredit and deflect any criticism of the official JFK assassination narrative. Although there is good evidence of the document, convolutedly this is now often referred to as the "CIA document conspiracy theory."
Here is the 53-page document. What do you think?

Was she pregnant with her twins ?
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 28/01/2021 13:39

Can anyone shed any light on this?

It's already been expanded on and discussed. Basically, a nurse took an external phone call and transferred it internally to the requested department/ward for the staff there to deal with as they saw appropriate. No personal info was given out by her whatsoever. The call turned out to be a rather pathetic prank call, with two Aussie DJs pretending to be the Queen and Charles. It was reported that she was so upset and embarrassed, she killed herself.

Some people have speculated that she could have witnessed (or been asked to do) something that could have been devastating, had she spoken about it in public.

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2021 13:41

The recent virus health emergency has thrown up many conspiracies which nobody has mentioned on here yet.

Kndg · 28/01/2021 13:41

I believe Jesus was a regular dude who had a kid. And that kid had a kid, and so on...and that bloodline is still with us today, somewhere.

DolphinsAndNemesis · 28/01/2021 13:43

@meltedgalaxy

I'm shocked that two planes could do the damage they did to the twin towers, but some of the conspiracies are wild.

Jon Benet Ramsey isn't right. I think the family are involved.

Sandyhook school shooting, no I don't think it's fake but I do think there was more to it that we'll never know about

And this post illustrates precisely the harm of conspiracy theories. The Sandy Hook school shooting was a tragedy. There is no "more to it" that is being hidden from the world. Those poor families have been hounded and threatened and terrorised because conspiracy theory nuts believe complete nonsense promoted by a far-right extremist lunatic.

IF it had been planned for her to die as a result of/in the aftermath of a car crash, it would have been the easiest thing in the world for somebody to have drugged/poisoned her and then undone her seat belt - or just to have jammed it or cut it so that it was hanging by a tiny thread.

Prince Charles is Harry's father.

Not the most controversial CT, that one Grin

hansgrueber · 28/01/2021 13:47

@Bouledeneige

At the time Diana died she was not hugely popular with the press or general public. Look up the headlines before her death. The tabloid press was having a field day criticising her gallivanting round the med with friends and her boyfriend, sponging off her rich pals in a manner not befitting an ex princess and a mother. She was said to be embarrassing herself and her children.

Her death deified her and saved her reputation.

Exactly, Private Eye the week after her death got hold of the original Sunday papers' headlines for 31 August, totally different from the later ones, a complete 180 degree turn.

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll

There's also another theory about HS2, linked in with Agenda 21 and sustainability - whereby rewilding of vast areas of the UK has been proposed, with humans banned from going there and disturbing the balance. The suggestion is that we're being told there will be very few stops in order to make it faster, whereas the few big, built-up city sprawls where it does stop will actually be the only places that humans are allowed to live or go - it won't stop in the countryside and current small towns because the vast majority of people (other than officials and rangers etc.) will have neither need nor permission to be there in the first place.

It does sound very far-fetched (although A21 is documented and officially published) - but it does seem strange how ruthlessly determined the government are to drive it forward. It's costing an astronomical fortune, is politically ruinous and is just so anachronistic in a country where high-speed broadband is also being rolled out and so many people (even more so with the post-pandemic 'new normal') working and meeting online.

Who cares about saving 20 minutes to travel to Birmingham on the odd occasion? And if you're travelling every single day, to make the time savings add up, wouldn't you just relocate or look for a job elsewhere - or, far more likely for a white-collar job - join the 21st century and take advantage of the ability to work from just about anywhere for the great majority of your working days?

That HS2 is still being pursued sort of confirms Agenda21/30 I would say. The cost, at a time when the country has overstretched itself massively in pandemic spending, can't really be justified.
WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 28/01/2021 13:48

Is this the surrogacy rumours?

That's the main one - but it could have been anything at all, for all we know. Some kind of dark ceremony or sacrifice, even, or just a big not-for-public-knowledge secret of any kind that a high-up person (possibly the man mentioned here already) accidentally let slip.

Who knows?

That's interesting, @WesternWastrel. So was this soon after the JFK assassination? What page should we be looking at in the document...?

the80sweregreat · 28/01/2021 13:50

A colleague of mine always maintains that James Hewitt is Prince Harry's ' real ' dad! ( based on nothing and she has never met any of them)
She is also of the opinion that there is a cure for cancer , but it's kept under wraps. For what purpose isn't exactly known.
People tend to believe a lot of things.

Lemonyfuckit · 28/01/2021 13:54

@Frankola

I don't believe that the 9/11 bombings were the work of OBL. I think it was the US government to get public backup for the war on Iraq (which was really about oil).

I also don't believe the JFK assassination was Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone. Or that Jack Ruby just coincidentally managed to assasinate him on live TV.

Marilyn Monroe's death is another that gets me. I dont believe that was suicide. Neither was Harvey Epstein

I genuinely don't mean this in a goady way at all, just curious: re the 9/11 conspiracy, do you actually believe the US government would allow that many innocent people / US citizens to die? I do believe the Iraq war was about oil, and they needed public support, and I can well believe the US government is responsible for some really dark things, but the sheer number of people who died in the attack makes that theory seem too far fetched for me.

On the flip side (so maybe I've just answered my question / disproved my point) - tell me pretty much any conspiracy theory that the Chinese or the Russian governments could be up to and I would well believe it.

SoDiorDarling · 28/01/2021 13:54

@TravellingTilbury yes! I looked into this loads and also don't want to believe it. I'm not even sure it's a conspiracy because there's so much truth in it but it's also so hard to find it. Wasnt HC on trial...you can't find hardly anything on the internet now about it. But absolutely terrifying the amount of A listers associated (flight logs and all). Terrified me.

Re. Corbyn and the British secret services

www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-12-05-explainer-five-reasons-the-uk-intelligence-agencies-fear-jeremy-corbyn-winning-britains-election/

Plenty enough there to clearly demonstrate the shady operations going on above the Westminster stage. Plots against trade unions, plots against the peace movement for nuclear disasrmentebt etc etc, plots against enquiry into war crimes etc. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of course. The British government leads with their consent rather than vice versa.

Anyone left of Tony Blair’s New Labour in the UK is basically considered as an Enemy of the State by the British establishment. That is the playing field on which British democracy operates.

The James Hewitt stuff is horrible. Every year I see happy Father’s Day memes about it and every year people get kicked off my facebook.
