To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

I read a few things at the time that just seemed to make it really clear that there should have been most of a plane on the ground when in fact there was almost no wreckage.

Epstein's death wasn't a suicide, and Diana's was an assassination.

Presumably with the Pentagon they shot down the actual plane and then did a controlled explosion later?

I don't really believe in any specific conspiracy.

I do believe we are fed watered-down information and that things are kept from the general public.

Looking at some of the idiots around me, I am not convinced this is a bad thing!

Here’s a niche one - the drummer from Motley Crue died of an overdose and they had to get a stand-in, but to make him convincing they had to copy every inch of Nikki Six’s tattoos

Who would have thought that a government would willingly steal body parts from dead people but yet project sunshine has been proven true.

Wow, just googled that, hadn't heard of it before! There must be so much that goes on that the general public don't know about, both now and years ago.

There was one about Myra Hindley being alive but released under a new identity that I could buy into for a bit, then I thought about how many people would know and have to be sworn to secrecy and so she probably is dead.

I swear she lived down the road from me. Tarty coat, kept self to self - though not in a quiet way, same type of dogs, bit of a witch/Cruella thing about her. Could definitely see her as a Myra looking at her old newspaper pics and moving them on several decades

I wasn't the only one who wondered if she was Myra

I don't think anyone thought she actually was. But if Myra was released alive - that will have been her

We said this back last March when we were in work watching everyone stockpiling toilet rolls and pasta. There's no way they could ever tell us about aliens or anything similar after seeing how the public react 😂

Yuri Gargarin wasn't the first man in space, but he was the first to come back to Earth alive. Other cosmonauts had gone up before him. All died either in space, or on re-entry.

That makes him even braver, going to space where others had died.

I worked as a project lead in tech product development for a while.

Trying to ensure that 20 developers kept their mouths shut was hard enough: how on earth people convince themselves that hundreds, possibly 1000s, of people can be persuaded to keep schtum is a mystery unto itself.

Some conspiracy theories have "evidence" that at least sort of show there could be truth in it, but that one just doesnt.

I'm not entirely convinced Epstein killed himself, but willing to be contradicted by someone who knows more about that type of injury.

I would say the moon landing - it just looked so fake!

Too many people would have had to keep quiet for the moon landings to have been faked.

As PP said, hundreds of thousands of people. It’s just not possible.

I think Diana’s death was a coincidence though, She wasn’t wearing a seatbelt when the car crashed and that was what had killed her.

I only read this last week. I have to say I was convinced it's possible!

Global warming is a fraud. The climate changes in cycles and if you actually look at the data you will see that we are heading into a grand solar minimum and that temperatures are going to drop significantly. Not a conspiracy but fact, however if you try to voice this you will very quickly get shut down.

Totally agree. No plane debris, or entry points to the building caused by the wings of a plane. CCTV from the neighbouring petrol station seized immediately after it happened. CCTV that was released has been edited so you can't see the cause of the damage. I could go on more.

Conspiracy theories really stress me out.

I’m convinced most are born of long forgotten kids cartoons/films sat lodged in our minds.... really easy to get lost down a rabbit hole though .....

In honesty I think you can apply logic and critical thinking to unsurp even the most hardened c.theory out there ...
