We've discussed the Murdoch family's media control before, but I'm not sure I'm properly up-to-date. I know Rupert used to be very hands on with his news and "news" outlets, and set editorial tone.
I seem to remember he's relaxed his grip slightly of recent years, but I could be wrong. Son James has, of course, very publicly walked away from the whole shebang because he couldn't stomach the editorial tone (so manifestly he wasn't in control of that).
I wonder how much the tone and content of what's being spewed at Lauren from Pennsylvania is – however remotely – being determined by Rupert Murdoch? Murdoch does like being in the shadows and using the rear entrance to 10 Downing Street, as we learned during the phone hacking scandal.
The Mercers, too, like to stay out of the headlines. They of course, founded Breitbart.

Sinclair is more corporate, but has certainly been directing editorial tone from the top and ordering its local channels to be more conservative.

However I don't know if Sinclair is, like Fox, highly emotive and inaccurate, or just supports Republican-ish themes.
I'm just wittering about this to help me remember who is behind the messaging deluging Lauren in Pennsylvania. Easy to focus on the presenter and forget the execs.
Plus I was reminded of all this by: "Trump: the Downfall", when slimy Farage trotted out his perennial chestnut that Trump was "taking on the elite". As though Trump were not one of "the elite"!
And the frontman for the pet project of some very elite elite.
