Joules clothes...opinions?

Just browsing the Joules sale and some of their clothes look quite nice (a lot of Breton stripes and florals).

I've never bought from there before - does anyone shop there? Is the quality any good?

Not an AIBU but like hearing others' opinions.

Riding clothes for me, got lots of polos, all very hard wearing.

midnightstar66 · 23/01/2021 10:56

They aren't all as good quality but the sale prices are often still very good value and the staple items like the jackets still good and functional. My DD's always have a pack away bubble jacket, replaced immediately they grow out of it. It's not all flowers and stripes. If you like the items that's what's important. We'd be boring if we all likes the same thing.

midnightstar66 · 23/01/2021 10:56

Meant to say aren't all as good quality as they used to be

midnightstar66 · 23/01/2021 11:06

I get why people would think it is frumpy. But I'm not looking for a party dress (no point at the minute!) just some decent quality stuff that is comfortable enough to wear around the house.

It's perfect for that tbh. It's also perfect for trudging around in the mud outdoors (mines the wellies - they are crap) which is about all else we can do right now. They also do lovely scarves and nice tweed. Not all of it is the same style.

GoryGilmore · 23/01/2021 11:08

Clothes are good, but their wellies are terrible quality. Only brand of wellies that my children manage to make holes in!

HildegardNightingale · 23/01/2021 11:11

I can’t agree that their quality is good. I find the clothes I’ve bought from joules do not wash well.
Otoh I’ve got Seasalt stuff I’ve had for years that wash and wear well.

Lachimolala · 23/01/2021 11:12

It’s a bit twee and naff for me. I used to really like it until the YouTube/insta mummy brigade adopted it as their uniform of choice 😬

icelollycraving · 23/01/2021 11:14

I’ve bought kids stuff and regularly used to buy for dh from there. Very good quality. The sales and offers are generally very good.

I always thought Joules was for people who had horses, I only used to see it at agricultural fairs years ago! It's too fussy for me.

WeatherwaxOn · 23/01/2021 11:28

I've got a pair of their wellies I bought around 6 years ago. I don't wear them regularly but they've lasted really well.
However, I bought them because I liked the wellies, not because they were Joules.

StanfordPines · 23/01/2021 11:49

I like Joules trousers. The Henesford Chinos fit my dumpy frumpy middle aged mumsy arse very well.

MrsExpo · 23/01/2021 11:54

I love their stuff, but tend to avoid the flowery patterns. Always find the quality pretty good. It's a bit pricey though ... try to buy in the sales.

PrivateParty · 23/01/2021 13:18

My waterproof jackets have been well worn and are still good and waterproof. Ive had most of my wellies for years and not had an issue. Either has my sister who uses them for dog walking. Apart from my newest ones, wee ones that don't look much like wellies. I love them and wore them to death over the last year. Literally wore them most days. All year. They developed a tear and they replaced them with no hassle.

Atrixie · 23/01/2021 13:22

I wouldn’t wear it but most of the photos do look 90% of my mums wardrobe and she’s a young dressing 68.

Personally it’s functional but not stylish but probably fine if you live in the country.

Cuntitinthebin · 23/01/2021 13:40

My friend bought me a Joules jumper and it's really nice.

That's my only experience with Joules, though.

OhWhyNot · 23/01/2021 13:45

I like the classic stripped top but I like my H&M stripped top

Some of the outfits look child like bit like Boden. I don’t really get the adults wearing child like cute clothes

I've had a browse at the non-sale stuff and it does generally seem expensive.

The sale has some nice enough clothes in it, at affordable prices. May try out a couple of things from Joules then, seeing as most people are saying quality is good. Smile

I think the quality is good but only ever bought a couple of things as not great for tall people ... and I find a lot of it a bit frumpy
