How have I only just realised this?

I'm 40.
I've just realised that I was born bang on, to the date, 9 months after my grandmas 50th birthday.
She had a huge party, I've seen the photos.
I was born on my due date.
My parents had a good time didn't they?
Baaaaaaahhhhhhh. Can never look at those photos again.

I was too much to drink on a cold night between Christmas and new year. My mother mentioned once that she knew exactly when.

STOP RIGHT THERE, MUM.

Elledouble · 19/01/2021 12:42

My dad openly admitted to me that I was a Valentine’s Day baby. Cheers dad.

I know when my son was (accidentally Blush) made - it was the only time we ever took a risk, we did it before we went to a party and the pictures (taken of the party, not of the deed!) pop up in my Facebook memories every year!

Bitbusyattheminute · 19/01/2021 12:43

codenamevillanelle no, she could have conceived at Xmas. Xmas was when we made the decision to start trying. Don't think I'd even had a period after coming off the pill by that point. I had a positive 2 weeks later (didn't know about the 2ww then). Dc born 25th sept. They were conceived at some point from 20th Dec.

That's not very accurate.

If you born May 17th, when you put my birthdate in, it says conception was August 21st to August 29th. (The previous year obviously.) So it doesn't give you an exact date.

I agree though, just coz you were born Sept 25th, that doesn't follow that your parents conceived you on December 25th the year before.

Only if you parents told you that they shagged just once a month around the time you were born, (on the last day of every month for example,) would you probably know the exact date of conception.

I also agree with a few posters that the subject of the thread is a bit daft. NEWSFLASH @ColdemortReturns - your parents had sex sometimes! Wink

MatildaTheCat · 19/01/2021 12:44

I was born precisely 38 weeks after Christmas Day. My elder brother would have been six weeks old at the time. Grin

iklboo · 19/01/2021 12:46

I had a boyfriend who had never noticed he was born about 6 months after his parents' wedding. He was talking about their anniversary and I innocently mentioned it - he was horrified! He concluded they had been pressured to get married because she was PG. But he had never realised.

FIL literally only found out about a year ago that his sister got married because she was pregnant. He thought her son was premature. He weighed 8lb something! And is now 41.

Sheleg · 19/01/2021 12:46

DH and I got married on January 7th. DD was born September 7th Grin

I was actually about 3 weeks pregnant at the wedding but everyone thinks she was a honeymoon baby'

KellyanneConway · 19/01/2021 12:49

“I was born 40 weeks after New Year's Eve.”

Me too @MrsMoastyToasty Grin

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 19/01/2021 12:57

My husband always likes to point out that Mothers' Day (March) is celebrated nine months after Fathers' Day (June). Grin

MrsKoala · 19/01/2021 12:58

Apparently I was conceived at Butlins in the legendarily hot summer of ‘76.

Onadifferentuniverse · 19/01/2021 12:59

If you were born 9 months to the date later they’d not have conceived until around 2 weeks after the party.

rbe78 · 19/01/2021 13:00

Brilliant - a little insight into your parents' love life that you really didn't need. Not sure family parties have ever particularly inspired passion within me though - usually quite the opposite!

It was at my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary I attended as a young teen that I worked out that my father (their oldest) must have been conceived out of wedlock - have since learnt it was something of a shotgun marriage!

YorkshireIndie · 19/01/2021 13:11

My mum takes great delight in telling my brother, sister and I why we are all here. My LO will know exactly why he is here - dry Jan and his father's birthday Grin

SlayDuggee · 19/01/2021 13:17

My mum always called me her Spanish baby. I was due 1st May therefore I would have been conceived around the end of July/beginning of August when she was on holiday in Spain

theotherfossilsister · 19/01/2021 13:43

My mother told me all about my conception too, although I wish she hadn't. I was conceived September and born May though so was very early. Confirmed I guess by being tiny and kept in hospital for a while.

smoothchange · 19/01/2021 13:43

Literally shocked at how many women don't know the basics here Shock

ChikiTIKI · 19/01/2021 13:49

I was due my first baby on 4th Oct and everyone said aah a NYE baby. I got pregnant middle to end of Jan.

My birthday is about 9 months after the week of my mums birthday/valentines... 😳

Livpool · 19/01/2021 13:50

When I had the first appointment with the community midwife when I pregnant with DS she said I must have had a good new year 😂😂😂

giao · 19/01/2021 13:53

I don't need to work out when I was conceived, my mum told me.

Bonfire night, fireworks all round apparently.

Pumpkinstace · 19/01/2021 13:54

My baby was born 9 months and 4 days after my wedding day.

She was 8 weeks early though so not as cool as it sounds.

Pericombobulations · 19/01/2021 14:15

My dad overshared once, that I was the result of him coming back from military duty. And as I was 6 years later than my brothers who were 2 years apart, suspect I wasnt planned for either.

Thanks dad!

DS was born very early October, but wasnt a Christmas baby, as we didnt start TTC until January!

However I know my catholic grandparents, had a very healthy weight baby less than 6 months after their wedding too.

OwlLovesTea · 19/01/2021 14:19

I dont see the big deal! My dad told me i was conceived in stratford upun avon. My mum was blushing and shushing him. But once when he was in the area he came back with an ashtrsy from The Dirty Duck where their evening commenced. I was laughing but said ok, never bring this up again.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/01/2021 14:21

I used to work in an antenatal testing lab and I can assure you that we had busier times that could be attributed to Christmas and New Year, to Valentine's Day, and to the clocks going back. Grin Very obvious peaks dating back to those time periods!

unchienandalusia · 19/01/2021 14:21

my birthday is 25th September. Had never thought about it before......

Sunsetdawn · 19/01/2021 14:23

I know exactly when one of mine was conceived.
I also know that my brother was conceived as a result of our parents having a birthday shag.
It's quite horrifying to think of your parents having sex really isn't it?
