How have I only just realised this?

I'm 40.
I've just realised that I was born bang on, to the date, 9 months after my grandmas 50th birthday.
She had a huge party, I've seen the photos.
I was born on my due date.
My parents had a good time didn't they?
Baaaaaaahhhhhhh. Can never look at those photos again.

I was born, two weeks late, nine months and two weeks after my dad's birthday. I assume the two are connected!

Confusedandshaken · 19/01/2021 12:10

My husbands aunt is convinced our child (born late September) was conceived when we stayed around her house one NYE. As if we would EVER have sex at Aunty Eileens!

Natsku · 19/01/2021 12:11

My parents loved to tell me, and my friends, that I was conceived on holiday by saying that I was "made in Finland"

Both my children was conceived around May Day (my oldest probably on the day, she was due 38 weeks after May Day)

SeasonFinale · 19/01/2021 12:11

How scary is it that you have reached the age of 40 and don't know how conception and due dates work?

CaveMum · 19/01/2021 12:12

I was born approx 9 months after my mum's 27th birthday.

I'm always amused when looking at family history records and discovering relatives, now elderly or deceased, that were born less than 6 months after their parents wedding (so far this includes my dad's eldest brother, my FIL and my great-grandmother). Obviously it's not a big deal but it makes me chuckle.

Weirdlynormal · 19/01/2021 12:12

My DH is 25th September and my MIL said she was forever getting ribbed about it. To be honest that's not 40 weeks though is it

Lweji · 19/01/2021 12:13

DS was born 9 months after Easter.
Come to think of that, there are quite a few members of the family born in January, including my sister and brother. Shock
I'm the odd one out, possibly because my parents married in September.

MrsKoala · 19/01/2021 12:13

Our dc were all conceived around or just after Christmas (ds2 NYE certainly wasn’t a good boozy night out as we were home with our 1year old) as that’s when we have a discussion about what we want from that year. I know the dates that all 3 were conceived because that’s the only time we had sex and the day after conception I get migraines so bad I lose my sight and with ds1 went blind in one eye for 12 weeks.

Fuss · 19/01/2021 12:15

FFS I just had a look on a historical site to see if anything happened around my conception date that made it noteworthy. The answer was....

Dancer Roy Castle is measured at 1,440 taps/min on BBC TV

Fairly sure my parents weren't celebrating that. At least I bloody hope not.

Bluntness100 · 19/01/2021 12:16

Op, are you not a parent, is that how you don’t understand conception?

CodenameVillanelle · 19/01/2021 12:19

@Santaiscovidfree

My dd's is 25th September!! Grin
You conceived mid January then!
HerselfIndoors · 19/01/2021 12:20

I had a boyfriend who had never noticed he was born about 6 months after his parents' wedding. He was talking about their anniversary and I innocently mentioned it - he was horrified! He concluded they had been pressured to get married because she was PG. But he had never realised.

😂😂😂

I think it’s worth asking them to be sure.

Lweji · 19/01/2021 12:22

I was born 40 weeks after New Year's Eve.

So conception was mid January?

It could have been up to 5 days earlier, easily.

CodenameVillanelle · 19/01/2021 12:24

I conceived on Christmas Day - I know this because I was ovulating between 22-25 and we had an argument the 22nd and didn't have sex until the 25th. DS was born mid September after having a due date of 12/9.
I didn't plan on a Christmas conception and we had plenty of sex at other times and I'm not sure why it would matter to anyone anyway. Parents had sex shocker Shock probably more than just on special occasions Shock Shock

autumntimebrowns · 19/01/2021 12:25

For those saying late September births would have been planned to take advantage of school admissions this certainly wouldn't have been a thing in the early 60's. Definitely trying to 'keep warm' in a freezing cold winter 😀

MsHedgehog · 19/01/2021 12:28

So glad others are pointing out OP has calculated it wrong. I seemed to be the only one who spotted this and started to wonder that perhaps I didn’t get how it worked!

That made me laugh! Maybe they were trying to keep up with the taps....

Hi Op
quite a interesting Post Thread
Often family members have significant important dates in common such as Birthdays like yourself Marriages or even death passing away dates
Some people take on them is they Are a strange Quike of fate(destiny)

Others think there is really more to these occourances such as its its more than a corincindences !
Some people think for e.g when a new born baby comes into the world on the date of a either grandparent date they passed on died or even the grandparent date its a sign that there ancestor is looking out for them, especially if was a challenge to get pregnant in the first or the new mother or her family had a run of Crap misfortune happen before having obviously good luck fortune of new baby coming into the family !

As Skully Tv secret Agent from X Files popular Tv series "Said the Truth is out There" 😕!!

thebabessavedme · 19/01/2021 12:31

me and my dbs were all conceived around easter time, my dad blames hot cross buns, they 'send him wild' Grin

Lweji · 19/01/2021 12:32

More of a shocker was to read a testimony by my mother saying that my younger brother was a contraception fail. I've never told either of them that I know. He may or may not have realised, as he is a bit younger than us and she was very late 30s.
I had been told at age 6, when my mum was in early pregnancy, that he was a present for me. Confused Grin

Possibly more upsetting is that the testimony was prepared for a regular marriage preparation group my parents helped lead at the time. That means that many people I know and about my age will have known that story but not us. Hmm

YouBoughtMeAWall · 19/01/2021 12:32

hansgrueber · 19/01/2021 12:33

Our Number 2 was born nine months after Number One daughter's first birthday. We had friends round for tea and cake, crumbs in her case, then a private dinner to celebrate the date!

Santaiscovidfree · 19/01/2021 12:34

Actually Boxing day. Dp worked away and that was the only time...Wink

I also had a dc 9 months and 10 days post implant removal.

Plussizejumpsuit · 19/01/2021 12:39

My dd's is 25th September!! Grin
My partner's birthday is 27th Sept. So we know he was also a Christmas baby!

Good for his parents. I mean they were in their late 20s it is what couples that age do! Or any age
